I have friends flying in from FL into Newark around 3PM. They getting in, delayed, or canceled? :)
Any of the above. Right now high winds but no rain.

How's the parking--a lot of people down for the beach?Yup up here in SE Mon Co too. Pretty windy tho.
Unrelated question, how early do I have to get in line for Dock's happy hour on a Sunday or Monday? By 3?I feel like I'm in an alternate universe, based on what I see out the window right now in Atlantic City. It's a beautiful sunny day here. But I know very little about meteorology...
With all the recent rain that's hit Jersey, is this wind a threat to some trees? Is it that level?
same here although the winds picked up and we had a quick shower but sun is back outI feel like I'm in an alternate universe, based on what I see out the window right now in Atlantic City. It's a beautiful sunny day here. But I know very little about meteorology...

I was there month or so ago and talking to some folks at bar waiting for table they told me happy hour specials are a must. They also told me not to tell anybody else about it. I know it starts at 4.Docks Oyster HOuse has one of the best happy hours around! Usually the line starts forming outside about an hour ahead of opening. I have never gone in the summer so hard to say when you need to be there but in the winter on a Friday I have shown up 10 minutes before opening and was able to get a seat.

Ain't happening. May get some nasty, windy storms tho. What time does the hurricane start
Another one was just in the news for impacting a sky diver's descent.Dang, I've never heard of a "Dust Devil." Getting hit by an umbrella that fell a hundred feet would leave a mark...
Wondering what Brielle road will be like. NWS said "minor" tidal flooding.Ain't happening. May get some nasty, windy storms tho.

We had a wire down Tue on Stockton Lk Blvd. Seems to be an annual event.Wondering what Brielle road will be like. NWS said "minor" tidal flooding.
Same here in Wall--wind gusts picking up. My bellweather is fire dept calls for wires down or trees on wires. So far nothing on that front, but I just jinxed my day. . . . . .
We usually go once a visit, but we're in Sept and we get there 10-15 minutes before opening and have zero problem getting a good spot at the bar. Sorry, Toby, I didn't see this. I didn't know the answer anyway, but Newell and Numbers did...Unrelated question, how early do I have to get in line for Dock's happy hour on a Sunday or Monday? By 3?
Just read that Gillian's Wonderland Pier is closing after 47 years. Any plans for it?Docks Oyster HOuse has one of the best happy hours around! Agree. It's coming through No. Plfd. right now and just rain, with little or no wind. No thunder and lightning. On radar, it looks like the line broke up some. I'm okay with that, BTW.Meh..not impressed with this line of showers
Nope, not looking as robust as forecast, at least for most of NJ (outside of NWNJ earlier). I've had enough rain, lol.Meh..not impressed with this line of showers
Gov Toofus is soft.Wait I just found out the state let workers go at 1:30 today because of the so called storm hahaha
Today was hyped more then any other day this week and we barely got anything.
Debby the Dud (for NJ anyway)Wait I just found out the state let workers go at 1:30 today because of the so called storm hahaha

Yeah it's really dumb in case there might be trouble. You people are ridiculous. Also in a lot of areas there have been issues considering the wind today with all the rain this week.Gov Toofus is soft.
Nah today was nothing. It was stupid to let them out earlyYeah it's really dumb in case there might be trouble. You people are ridiculous. Also in a lot of areas there have been issues considering the wind today with all the rain this week.
No word. Hopefully something similar. That Ferris wheel is part of the landscapeJust read that Gillian's Wonderland Pier is closing after 47 years. Any plans for it?
I read a Hotel family from Philly owns the real estate - the owner is millions in debt.No word. Hopefully something similar. That Ferris wheel is part of the landscape
Ridiculous because of a little bit of wind and rain. Name the lot of areas that had issues TODAY. Soft and weak move in case there "might" be trouble because of a windy rain storm.Yeah it's really dumb in case there might be trouble. You people are ridiculous. Don't think I have ever been to the OC boardwalk. How does it compare to Seaside Heights, Wildwood and Point Pleasant Beach in terms of size? I would imagine, OC is the most family friendly. No word. Hopefully something similar. That Ferris wheel is part of the landscape
Hindsight is always 20-20. At the time the decision was made, the forecast from the NWS and every service out there was for 1-2" rain for most of NJ, which, could have led to localized flooding given how much rain had fallen recently, and along with wind gusts to 40-50 mph, could've easily led to many downed trees/power lines (especially given the saturated soils already in place from earlier rains), plus there was a legitimate threat of tornadoes.Nah today was nothing. It was stupid to let them out early
You're simply off base on this and should know better. Of course it looks dumb in hindsight, but not given the forecasts they were given.Ridiculous because of a little bit of wind and rain. Name the lot of areas that had issues TODAY. Soft and weak move in case there "might" be trouble because of a windy rain storm.
I prefer OCNJ boardwalk over all of the others, from a family perspective: it's about 9 blocks of boardwalk with tons of shops, food shacks and actual restaurants, games, etc, along with two large amusement areas kind of just behind the boardwalk (and a water park). As a teenager, Wildwood and Seaside were the best. Point Pleasant doesn't compare to the other 3, IMO.Don't think I have ever been to the OC boardwalk. Not a very good forecast today for most of our area, but the NHC forecast for Debby was superb, from inception, through landfall in FL, through the stall in SC/GA with incredible rainfall forecasts verifying and finally to the quick trip up the Apps from NC through New England bringing flooding rains and tree damage with winds and some tornadoes.BUST of epic proportions today. Just shows how truly awful these models are. Completely useless most of the time.
