RU men have 2 top seeds in the 400 and LJ. It would be nice to see us score some points and have 2 champs, last year we were basically shut out. Live on BTN to go, the BIG network will be televising next Saturday March 5th.

From SK.com

Freshman Izaiah Brown (Amsterdam, N.Y.) and senior Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.) each possess top marks out of all B1G competitors in their respective events heading into the championships.Brown produced a conference-best time of 46.61 this season in the 400m during the Rutgers Invitational on Jan. 9. Brown’s mark is .14 seconds faster than the second best time in the conference, owned by Michigan’s Taylor McLaughlin and Ohio State’s Champ Page. The time, which was both a program and Busch Bubble facility record, earned him Big Ten Co-Track Athlete of the Week honors.Brown will also compete in the 200m, the distance relay and the 4x400m relay during the championships. Brown owns the seventh-fastest time in the Big Ten with a mark of 21.35 in the 200m.Crawford has twice recorded a distance of 25’ 6.75 (7.79m) this season at the NYC Gotham Cup and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, tops in the conference. We have come along way from Alantic 10 championships, we used to complete in. I would have loved to complete in this meet. So glad our track program has landed in this conference.
I know Louuuuu! Will have those young men ready
To give up the body.

How many years has Crawford been here? Seems like forever.

He still is very fast however.

Hey Dave! Yes quite a step up from the A-10 days, and running on TV would have been fun. Lou has been doing a great job!

Congrats to Corey. Is he our first mens BIG champ in any sport?

Is Brown as good as was Tom Ulan?

At the 1970 Millrose Games,Tom led the world record holder in the 600 yard dash,Martin Mc Grady, for every step-until the last one.

Tom won the University Games 400 meter race one of those years.

Does anyone know where the men's and women's teams placed in last year's B1G championships? It would be interesting to compare this year's placement to last year's to see how much, if any, progress is being made in the sports that don't have the high profile of football, bball, wrestling, or even soccer.

I think the swimming championships are also being held this weekend.

Both finished last (12th). Men only scored 2 points total for the meet. Crawford scored 10 by himself last night. Women scored 24.

Eze brought 3 more points home with his second Finals performance, this time in the triple jump.

Crawford, Brown, and Eze have now combined for 26 points.

Dave, I think our 1983 team could have done some damage
Yes definitely I know we would have been all big10
Duke with our DMR, would love to have that on my wall of Fame.
Give up the body, was started then, and I think Louuuuu is still using it.
I pretty sure the 1983 team would have won a big 10 championship. Top to bottom best Track & Field team ever at Rutgers. We had scorers in every event.
And incredible team chemistry. We where truly to a man Brothers. That team shaped who I am today.
Love you Brother!!!! Dukie Duke. Lol
Gladly trade my A10 1500 meter championship for any
Big 10 hardware

100% spot on. I need to dig up the results and compare that meet to this. I may have a copy of the Targum still. I know our DMR would have been 1st or 2nd looking at the results.

Watching on BTN to go, thats a nice facility

Also would have been nice to complete against men our own age, instead of 29 year old Irish Men and Kenyon's. Remember the time at the meadowlands arena we got into a shoving match with FDU's Kenyons in the middle of the track, almost went to fist acuffs. Lol, we kicked there as physically and in the race, you had a great race that day. Great memories.
Lol

You really have to go time by time race by race related to all teams competing not an accurate assessment. Of how a track championships is calculated

When you go to nationals you are taking a relay here an individual here not a full team event.
A more accurate calculation would be to take the 1983 ic4a Rutgers team results in time and distance
Apply them to the 1983 big 10 championship meet.
In that instance Rutgers would Win. I pretty sure. We would score in most if not all events
