OT: Bitcoin, Altcoins, NFT's & All Things Crypto

once again to repeat myself, as if 4 times isnt enough. I'm happy my rationale has changed, as I have learned more and continue to educate myself.

And it's a Springer Spaniel, she's #adorbs.

With all due respect, your response strikes me as very convenient when the event you stated BTC will protect owners from occurs yet the price, since the inception of this thread, has declined by more than half. I suppose that’s one way to learn that BTC may not be a store of. value that protects capital against inflation. I suspect you know that, which helps explain why you resorted to personal attacks in response to my discussion of your thesis creep. Frankly, I was surprised by your reaction.

Personally, I'm shocked at how well BTC and ETH are holding up given the events of the past several months. Let's see what happens to Genesis.
And even before this BTC had really stabilized itself in that 17-20k level.

Kathy Wood was saying in those months BTC had become less volatile then (i think she said) the S&P.

Amazing analysis here, genius level setup by SBF, the CIA or whoever did this…

I listen to this podcast a lot and they have an interesting theory that FTX was ponzi specifically designed to take down the other crypto ponzis and steal any $$ they had on the balance sheet.

If you view abbreviations as attacks so be it. But again, this is a rutgers message board. I find you just, well.... annoying at this point. You keep trying to prove the same trash point about creeps, jeeps and puppies and it's exhausting. You've somehow managed to make yourself more annoying than RUBOB. A+ work. (that's prob the most personal attack I've made thus far) I'm done. I can't keep saying the same thing time and time again. I guess no one is allowed to evolve. oh well.

I'm now officially going back to posting things I see of value in this space.

Suffice to say, I had more respect for you before this exchange than I do now. And that’s surprising and disappointing, but your emotional reactions to questions about your rationale are now part of the record. I’ll now respect 05’s request above.

This whole cold storage concerns me. I'm sure I could quickly learn to do it but, say, I get hit by a cab going to lunch today. My wife would need to access it. If it were at Vanguard, even if she doesn't have my passwords, etc., I'm very confident that she would be able to get help. Maybe take some time and a death certificate, but it would get done. Not so with the BTC in cold storage or am I missing something? Forget your key and it's lost forever? Non-interest bearing coin sitting in cold storage does not excite me. But I'm not a gold guy either, never have been.

Reasonable enough of a concern, but it’s not that hard to be honest. For me next to our will in safe keeping I have instructions. They read… “Give this phrase to my brother, he will handle it.” If that weren’t an option I’d be able to type out full instructions that anyone would be able to follow.

Write down your seed phrase and put it in a fireproof/waterproof envelope. If she doesn’t know what to do with it, write down the directions too.

Yes, well, when the Greatest Generation hid FRNs in books & magazines and buried jewelry in the backyard without telling anyone (for safekeeping), those assets were unable to be recovered after death either, unless you knew ahead of time.

For some reason I'm reminded of Janice digging around in the basement of her mothers house on The Soprano's looking for buried $$$. Truthfully, it's rudimentary enough where it's not that far removed from buried notes or $$$. It's a 24 word key. In the event of tragedy, my wife knows to look in room x for an engraved piece of metal with a bunch of gibberish words on it. It's not exciting.

But im retrospect burying jewelry where your family can’t find it was probably not a great idea.

Here comes more from the full court press of lets fluff piece the villain's (criminals) to make them look like they just made a bad decision. If I was someone who lost a ton on FTX I would be enraged by this, more so than i am now. And these pieces are not going to stop until he/they are made to look like a couple of dumb kids who just made a little mistake.

I see “fake charity” “collapse” and “catastrophe” before i even get into the story.

If your expecting an internet message board style ass ripping your expectations are way off.

No expectations. Just sharing what is happening and how things are being framed.

several pensions tied to this, only going to get worse and as I've said, keep some powder dry

Anyone who thinks blockchain is going away is a full on retard and deserves to be ignored. Even Hellen Kellar can see the value

Calls people full-on retard … while being wrong for the last year 😝

So I dont know much about GBTC or the Grayscale Eth product, but if I held a substantial position I would 100% be doing everything I could right now to get out of that position. Genesis is not going to be getting the x Billion lifeline they need on Monday. The is a strong chance this trickles down to Grayscale.

I was asleep at the wheel and forgot I had a couple of hundred dollars in ETH and AMP on Gemini's Earn program. I put in to withdraw it, but the odds of me ever seeing that are somewhere around 5%. That annoys me. If I had a large Grayscale position I would be besides myself watching everything occur around me and thinking, nah it couldn't happen to something so big.

Not trying to tell anyone what to do, essentially sharing what I would be doing if I was in that position. Again, I never held a position in it, so my knowledge base in their product isnt super high. I just have grave concerns considering their parent company's ownership in Genesis, investments in FTX. Do with it as you wish.

Monday is going to be interesting....

Happy I never pulled the trigger on rebuying GBTC or ETHE. Lots of dust still to settle!

The best option right now, if someone wants a BTC trade, is BITO from Proshares. Very similar movement to GBTC, but without the liquidity risk. Proshares may also have a short BTC ETF as well. It was definitely announced, not sure if it made it to market yet.

Just buy btc directly

Meh, too much hassle if you want to trade it a bit. Unfortunately, Proshares doesn't have an ETH ETF, so not many options for the world's most useful crypto network. :)
False. Couldnt be easier to trade on Coinbase or Gemini. I wouldnt hold a long term position on an exchange, but for someone looking to trade its quick and easy

Just saw this on GBTC. Looks to be good news.

and yet, still trading at 42% of NAV......... and down 2.5X the BTC hard-price drop today.......

Where else can you buy $1 bills for 50cents!!!............................

...unless you really can't..........

hey- my $7.50 limit hit this am... yeah me... but, this is fun money--- god bless those of you that think it's something serious at this point......... long way to prove anything...

Bitcoin holding around $16K has been impressive. Thought this crypto mess would have a bigger impact on price.

And yes, I realize this is far from over.

at least "interesting".... it remains to be seen if it's impressive...

one of many takes--but interesting take... Whales/Maximalists have reasons to support at $16k... that doesn't mean it can hold - and another leg down it out there...

*CRYPTO FIRM GENESIS WARNS OF BANKRUPTCY WITHOUT NEW FUNDING

totally normal.....

lolz........ the free money is gone people........
people gotta show a real business plan now... and real assets to get real money...... not vapor...
we'll see if someone steps-ups and give the winkleBros another $Billy........ if not, the contagion spreads...

and the "but Bitcoin is holding at $16 crowd"... may want to look deeper..........
leverage got wrung out 66 to 16
the fact that the whales want a 16floor doesn't mean it holds......... it just takes one to crack....

Not going to lie. It's pretty diff to discern the message of your posts.

Its not Winklevii. Their platform is fine. They used Genesis as their partner on lending out crypto assets.

Im not super worried at 16k. It may dip a little lower but feel good here. Long term holder supply is at an all time high. There's less btc on exchanges that can be lent out and leveraged and it looks like Grayscale will live on.
