I'm not normally the Debbie Downer type, but I'm inherently suspicious of big pharma with data flubs and data massaging. I work in a field where we see battling scientific arguments as to what data does or does not show. Efficacy here undoubtedly is beyond dispute. We agree, side effects are worth watching, as they always are with any new therapy. I am very familiar with the Cox-2 inhibitor saga, and my instincts early on proved correct.
By the time most of general public will get a chance for the vaccine will be late spring. We don't have to worry about it now. We will see the side effects in full view. The estimated amount of 20 million before the end of this year will not come close. No one in the US will get a complete dose in 2020. It simple started to late.
Personally, no. We do an awful lot in our house to ensure we are safe and take major precautions to avoid unnecessary exposure. For others--that's not my concern--everyone should consult their doctors and the literature. There definitely seems to be something with heart and lung problems long term with certain people, and this is not very different from Cox-2 inhibitor side effects that big pharma tried to deny early on. Different set of problems, however, and perhaps that will lead to you asking a Sophie's choice question. That goes back to personal choice of each person weighing the risks of getting vaccinated versus not getting vaccinated. I have a close family member who is in this situation, and he is agonizing over it. I am not offering my opinion on what he should do--I have advised him to consult his doctor and told him we can talk, but he has to make a decision he is comfortable with.
People afraid today to take the vaccine today is real. Which if fine. But there has to be an huge effort to educate the public on the need to get this done. Today Fauci was talking about the very small amount of people willing to get the vaccine. That has to change!

It’s been recommended. It’s unknown how long an antibody response to the virus is sustained after a person successfully fights the infection. Of course consult your physician.
