Yeah, so the virus is present in the community. It took root in the spring. The goal has always been to minimize the spread until we can inoculate enough people to, in essence, eliminate the threat of the virus.
During the summer, people congregated more outside. This was not ideal, but still not likely to spread the virus as much as in locations with poor air circulation. So, an asymptomatic person on the beach and without a mask could still spread this virus, but far less so because the air circulation outside is far,far better than indoors. Take that same asymptomatic person and place them inside with lots of other people. The spread is far, far worse. It’s precisely what experts have warned us about as far back as the summer, and it’s precisely what has happened,
To sum up, the virus is here. It spreads when conditions are best to do so. It’s harder to spread when outside, though still possible. It’s far easier to spread when inside a closed environment,
