Or…Tesla is making so much from their other vehicles that they back burnered the truck? Your hatred for all things Tesla is comical. Be honest, much did you lose shorting them? And they still beat Tesla to the punch.

I actually like Tesla product. My hatred is with the fan club and Musk manipulating the stock. I’m very honest and transparent with my trades. Go to the stock thread and you’ll see that I stated I lost enough money shorting Tesla to buy a model 3 in 2020. You’ll also see I made all of it back on Tesla puts in 2021. Only if others were as transparen.Or…Tesla is making so much from their other vehicles that they back burnered the truck? Your hatred for all things Tesla is comical. You are correct. What my friend @jtung230 refuses to grasp is that Tesla is DEMAND constrained. They could introduce 10 new models, yet wouldn't be able to increase units sold. It would be a terrible business decision to increase manufacturing complexity when you don't have to.Or…Tesla is making so much from their other vehicles that they back burnered the truck? Rob Mauer does a nice job breaking down and explaining Tesla's R&D spending and how, just by looking at the raw numbers, you can be mislead. Jump to the 1 minute mark:Here's an article that is sure to rile the anti-Tesla folks here. You are forewarned.

Every EV company is DEMAND constrained. Actually, it’s not just EV, there’s a huge demand for ICE cars too. First to market advantage goes to Nikola. But Tesla wins the prototype trophy. You are correct. What my friend @jtung230 refuses to grasp is that Tesla is DEMAND constrained. Semi truck, Cybertruck, and Roadster will all use Tesla's in-house 4680 cells. They are no where near the production volume of 4680s needed to introduce these new vehicles. Right now, 4680s are being stockpiled for the Model Ys soon coming out of Austin. Even the new Berlin Model Ys are temporarily using Panasonic 2170 cells.
And, of course he is wrong about Nikola beating Tesla to the punch with a semi truck. For 2+ years, several Tesla semi prototypes have been running supplies from Giga Nevada to Fremont.
This isn’t new. I ordered in July 2021 and wasn’t given a direct date, it was always a range. The car buying experience was the best I’ve ever had, you should try it sometime.![]()
Elon Musk Uses an Ingenious Trick to Get Tesla Buyers to Pay More - TheStreet
Tesla and CEO Musk have a clever way to entice buyers to pay for an expensive feature.www.thestreet.com
Hmmmmm…….guess the direct model isn’t that great.
Did you pay up for something you don’t want to get it earlier? This isn’t new. I ordered in July 2021 and wasn’t given a direct date, it was always a range. The car buying experience was the best I’ve ever had, you should try it sometime.
I'm sure he did. Elon was holding him in a headlock. Dude stop already. Car stealerships don't offer incentives? You've transitioned to pathetic. Just say no to click bait.Did you pay up for something you don’t want to get it earlier?
LOL. ICE dealership trying to make money = stealership, but Tesla making you pay up 12k for FSD is cool. You and I both know that FSD is all software and has no bearing on production time. classic Fan club response.I'm sure he did. Elon was holding him in a headlock. Dude stop already. No one forces an adult to do anything. I chose to not get FSD and it was no issue. You really do reach for these things.LOL. ETA my favorite part of the article was how the consumers outsmarted Tesla by canceling the feature after confirmation of delivery date. Too bad Tesla caught on to that.
Good for you for not falling for the scummy practice. It’s not like they are up selling you on 1k. FSD for 12k is like a 20% mark up. Funny how no one defends the “stealership” by saying no one is making you pay a premium above MSRP.No one forces an adult to do anything. I chose to not get FSD and it was no issue. Follow politics? It’s not THAT bad 😀.Until I decided to get a hybrid, I had very little interest in hybrid and electric cars. Don’t always get what everyone is talking about in this thread, but still find out a lot of interesting stuff. Just wish everyone , pro and con, would talk about the cars and American jobs it is and may create in the future instead of all the Musk focus, good or bad. If I wanted to watch people yell at each other, I would follow politics. Just my two cents.
If/when Tesla solves full autonomy, those that bought in at $2,500-$12,000 are going to look pretty smart. Once solved, the price will skyrocket well past $12k. FSD purchase is an optional bet some customers are willing to take.Good for you for not falling for the scummy practice. It’s not like they are up selling you on 1k. Great to see Berlin operational. TSLA going to the moon!
The footage was sped up significantly. Did you catch the Mega castings at 0:50. Gotta say that's my favorite. Would love to see that in person.I was about to post this - just amazing. I don't know how the operator didn't crash the thing multiple times.
Since Twitter isn't a government entity, freedom of speech doesn't apply, but since social media has become so ubiquitous, there is a debate to be had over whether or not freedom of speech should extend to these platforms. However, that then infringes on the freedom of a business to operate how they see fit, so it's an interesting topic for sure. Of course many people will form their opinion one way or the other over who is being affected by a particular business's choices rather than digging deeper and looking at the underlying principles conflicting with each other.
I didn't want to derail the thread. But I like that Musk is not afraid to stick his neck out and assert his views. He took a nice swipe at Sen. Warren not long ago when she was "yelling" at rich people.Since Twitter isn't a government entity, freedom of speech doesn't apply, but since social media has become so ubiquitous, there is a debate to be had over whether or not freedom of speech should extend to these platforms. The guy who sucks up to China wants free speech. LOL. A true Maverick.

But… but… you’ve been responding to me. 🙂This thread is far more tolerable since I put the insufferable troll on ignore.
Pretty sure once we solve driverless driving that we’ll have V2V and V2I (without which it ain’t never gonna work well enough) and while it might start out as an option at that point, it will shortly thereafter become standard equipment for lots of cars, if not mandated by some states, like air bags and seat belts. Perhaps wrapped up in some anti-drunk driving legislation.If/when Tesla solves full autonomy, those that bought in at $2,500-$12,000 are going to look pretty smart. I'm sure you'll poo-poo the idea of autonomous vehicles. I'm also sure you're completely ignorant of Tesla's current progress.
But… but… you’ve been responding to me. 🙂
I know, you meant that other insufferable troll. I’m perhaps I’m a sufferable troll? 😀
Hey! C’mon now. I’m absolutely a troll… sometimes. 🙂I'd say you are insufferable, but not a troll.
Will be interesting to see how a swappable battery approach evolves. China can sometime confound businesses around the world due to its unusual social stability over profit mentality. A sensible policy given as large a population as theirs. But a policy that continually appears to trip up non-Chinese businesses seeking to do business in China using the much more typical profitability as priority one model.![]()
