OT-Excellent Summer Weather!

Temperatures did not hit 60 yesterday. High of 62 today. Is it June?
Yea, but we need this rain. Lawn still brown in places from the 18 days in May with no rain. In my book here on the JS summer really does not start until the 3rd week in June. That's when the ocean water is warm enough to turn your lips blue instead of purple.

No one can complain...we just came off the 2nd warmest May in history with 18 80 degree or more days..unheard of. After 3 more gloomy days the weekend should be nice and summery

No one can complain? On Scarlet Nation? In New Jersey?

Weather is unpredictable regardless of the season.During the spring and summer rain is needed to minimize droughts and keep your lawn from turning completely brown. There are plenty of bright sunny days to enjoy the outdoors.

June is 2015 May...The entire East needs the rain..I'm not complaining...

Come to Ca. It has been summer for a year. Love it!

Even got a little rain today.

you asked for it you got it
We could use some of that June rain.
We do not water our lawn. It's brown, and we haven't mowed in over 4 weeks, except in spots. I figure it will come back in the fall. Our neighbors have been running their sprinklers all summer and their lawn is not in much better condition than ours. Rough summer for lawns.

I heard on the news the other night that it was one of the hottest recorded summers for Central Park. I was like wow really, I've thought this summer has been pretty nice. Even on most of the hot days, I didn't think the humidity was that terrible and most times there was even a nice breeze.

It may have been one of the hottest on average, but this hasn't been a summer of extremes for sure. A few facts that point to a hot summer:

First heat wave since 2013
More 90+ degree days than average
Today is the 60th consecutive day over 80 degrees (we broke the record for that streak 10 days ago).

So it has been a hot summer, on average, we just haven't had one of those crazy heat waves with temps soaring to 100 degrees and 90% humidity to make this a memorably oppressive summer.
