OT- How do you get your ice cream home on hot days from grocery store?

ah, one of the joys of living across the street from an ice cream shop (and less than 1/4 mile to another) is I never have to worry about this problem.

Doesn't your car have air conditioning? How far do you live from the grocery store that this is a problem? (And if it is that far a trip, don't you have the same issue in the winter when the heat is on in your car?)

I just double bag the ice cream and take it home.

How do you get your ice cream home without it melting from the grocery store? Do you drive faster? Use a cooler?

Bring the ice cream in the car (not the trunk) with A/C. No stopping off on the way home. Put in freezer and give it about two hours or more to get back to grocery store hardness.

I haven't enjoyed a good cup of ice cream since they shut down Blue Bell. It is head and shoulders above all ice cream companies that sell half a gallon or more of ice cream.

Most ice cream bought in stores is called frozen dairy dessert now and the gallon has shrunk to 1.5 quarts....I long for the days of Ann Page and Dolly Madison

On the roof of my black car.

Others want to know..."How do you get home from the grocery store? How do you get to the grocery store? Do you enter the grocery store in the right entrance (if store has more than one) or the left entrance? Do you use a cart (and if you do, do you use the cart wipes) or do you use a basket?

This off season has been something else, this is some next level off topic bullsh.i..t right here.

Those type of girls give me the cold shoulder so they shouldn't have a hard time getting ice cream home.
Is the OP serious with this thread?
BTW Breyers is the best store brand.
They will eat you up and spit you out if you let them.So do it first and you come out the winner.

Per Whitebus "Breyers is the best store brand"
I think Breyers is the worst. There is even a Facebook page called "Breyers Ice Cream, Freezer Burn Included!"

If you read the ingredients...Breyers is pretty much the only "regular brand" that isn't loaded with chemicals and preservatives.
Breyers vanilla has cream, sugar and vanilla and that's it. Look at all the shit that is in other brands...you will be surprised.

Simple: I live a block away from a grocery store, and 2 blocks from a good ice cream spot.

It's definitely not the best - especially since the Unilever acquisition. Some of it is actually labeled as "frozen dairy dessert" because they reduce the cream to save money, leaving it with less than enough milk fat to be actual ice cream. Corporate cost cutting at its finest.

What is the best? I know even Breyer's has now corrupted some of the flavors, but as far as I know it is still the best of the "regular" brands as far as ingredients go.

Put it in the car and drive home. I have 2 grocery stores in a mile radius from my house and 6 stores in a 5 mile radius.
Tacky bitch still has the price tags on her shoes. Probably just wears them to the grocery store and then returns them.
shoes? What shoes?

I think you need to take another look at a carton of Breyers. They've changed it. Most of it isn't even ice cream anymore; it is "frozen dairy dessert".

Here are the ingredients for Breyers "Natural Vanilla": MILK, CREAM, SUGAR, TARA GUM, VANILLA BEANS*, NATURAL FLAVOR, NATURAL VANILLA FLAVOR*.

Here is Breyers "Homemade Vanilla": MILK, CREAM, SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, WHEY, EGG YOLKS, CAROB BEAN GUM, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, SALT, NATURAL FLAVOR, VANILLA EXTRACT*, ANNATTO (FOR COLOR), GUAR GUM, TARA GUM.

And here is Breyers "Salted Caramel": MILK, SALTED CARAMEL SWIRL [CORN SYRUP, WATER, SWEETENED CONDENSED SKIM MILK (SUGAR, WATER, SKIM MILK), BUTTER (CREAM, SALT), SEA SALT, CARRAGEENAN, SODIUM BICARBONATE], CORN SYRUP, SUGAR, CREAM,CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF EACH OF THE FOLLOWING: WHEY, CAROB BEAN GUM, CARAMEL COLOR, SALT, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, NATURAL FLAVOR, CARRAGEENAN, TARA GUM, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, GUAR GUM, ANNATTO (FOR COLOR).

Compare that to Turkey Hill's All Natural Ice Cream "Vanilla Bean": NONFAT MILK, CREAM, SUGAR, VANILLA, VANILLA BEAN.

Or Turkey Hill's All Natural Ice Cream "Homemade Vanilla": NONFAT MILK, CREAM, SUGAR, VANILLA.

Or Turkey Hill's All Natural Ice Cream "Salted Caramel": CREAM, NONFAT MILK, SUGAR, CARAMEL[CORN SYRUP, WATER, MILK, SUGAR, SEA SALT, PECTIN, BAKING SODA(SODIUM BICARBONATE)], VANILLA, SALT.

I knew this thread was going to be stupid when I clicked on it, but I was hoping for some humorous responses and was not disappointed ....... as far as ice cream brands just eat less and buy the good stuff like Häagen-Dazs and a few smaller brands - and do not buy anything that has anything other than milk, cream, sugar and whatever topping you may like added in.

That really stinks. I guess I will have to go through some labels next time I buy. I refuse to buy anything with corn syrup in it these days.
