OT: KNICKS playoff thread Go NY Go NY GO

Wow so this is what happens when knicks don’t get every key call at end of games…

Draymond is absolutely right…they are a fluke, punching so above their weight….even the hawks reached the East finals 1 year…

If Brunson was LeBron tonight, he would've found an open teammate with 9 seconds left instead of taking that poor shot.
He owned up to it in the post game. Said it was a terrible decision to be foul hunting in that situation. He is a stand up guy. It was just one of several possessions and situations the Knicks did not handle down the stretch. Missed FT's and giving the Pacers second chance opportunities were just as prominent in my mind. Opportunity lost for sure. Let's see if they have similar effort in the tank on Sunday.

Cple calls didn't go their way (big non goaltending call on a Hart layup that clearly hit backboard) but still confident they win series. Indiana got lucky with that bomb of a three at the end, with Brunson having an average game and no OG the Knicks should STILL have won that game..

I saw that and I respected it immediately. I'm a Sixers fan, so grew up being told not to like NY teams, but I find this version of the Knicks easy to root for. Must be all that Nova blood! JK, Nova isn't a Philly school.

He’s actually a very disgruntled Nets fan, which is even worse. Most of the Nets fans on this board have been classy, but it has to kill Rat that everyone couldn’t stand the Nets’ Little Three teams, yet people who aren’t Knicks fans respect this team. Enjoy the Ben Simmons golden era Rat!

Everyone has been complaining about not getting fouls since the All-Star Break.
It's got nothing to do with Brunson.

I heard someone earlier in the week call is "San Quentin Defense".
Officials were clearly directed not to call fouls after the All-Star break. Crack down on "foul hunting" from players.

Knicks have arguably been one of the biggest beneficiaries of this with their emphasis on physical defense.
I wouldn't say "playing over their heads". It's just they were built for how the league officiating changed.

Note: Lebron's FTs in the playoffs: 5, 7, 2, 2, 7

Refs don't call as many foul as they did earlier in the season, but there is clearly a difference in how Brunson is officiated compared to most others. Teams try to deny Brunson the inbound pass. When Brunson makes a move to get free, opponents seem to be glued to him, which is damn there impossible. When finally called, opponents b*tch about it like they weren't fouling him, yet the replay shows the attempted murder taking place.

I don't expect the refs to call every foul, but when it's obvious make the damn call. How much suffering must Brunson endure before it becomes an act the local police may have to investigate. It's no longer simple assault. It's man 1.

Btw, there was an interview with Thibs where he talked about teaching his player to go up vertical to avoid fouls and how to position his players in front of the opponent without fouling. That can't be said for how the 76ers played against the Knicks or how Indiana has committed more fouls than any team in the NBA this year. One thing you don't here from the Knicks is the consistent complaining about the foul calls against them. No need to go crying to the media.

What the F—k was that
McBride got hammered

NBA has a SERIOUS officiating issue

Can’t have league full of Angel Hernandez and CB Buckners

Home court advantage in foul calling.Knicks should win in 7 games if Brunson can overcome injury.

Only been watching off and on.
Fouls are 12-5 at half favoring the Knicks.

No matter how much people are going to complain this is the league now.
It's not just this series. It's all of them.
Watch Minnesota-Denver tonight.

It is a little funny since previously many complained about too many foul calls and favoring the offense too much.

It's never the amount of fouls called. It's when the fouls are called. The two minute report from game 3 pointed out the miss call on Siakam for holding IHart as another Pacer drives to the basketball for an easy layup. It gave the Pacers the lead. Had the call been made correctly, Siakam fouls out and the Knicks are shooting free throws. That play may have changed the outcome of the game.

Also, Hart had a layup block by the Pacer center, which would have given the Knicks a 4 point lead (under 2 minutes). It turned out to be a missed goaltending.

The Knicks injury related vulnerabilities caught up with them today. They are no longer a strong rebounding team without Mitch and OG. They also have limited options when a couple of guys are not having a good offensive game. Overall. they shot the ball poorly when it mattered.

While it is hard to get too worked up about the officiating given the score differential, they continue to play very aggressive defense against Brunson. McConnell and Nesmith were both effective and the officials did not calling fouls on McConnell until the Pacers were comfortably ahead. Jalen needs to be smart and gets others involved versus forcing the action.

More concerning is that no Knick appears to be able to stay in front of McConnell. They all look a step slow even Deuce who I thought could handle him. They also getting exposed on their defensive rotations as the Pacers ball movement and drives are resulting in too many uncontested three point attempts. They made a lot of those today.

At the end of the day the loss on Friday takes on a greater significance given todays result. I expect us to be much more competitive on Tuesday but this is not going to be easy to close out even with 2 out of 3 at home.

Hartenstein needed X-rays after game
Came back negative but can’t be great if you needed an X-ray to begin with

The Knicks are not a strong rebounding team in this series because Thibs lineups against a tall team are a disadvantage. You can't have a 6'4 guy trying to guard a 6'10 guy all game every game. It will catch to you like it has in this series. For some reason Thibs is against playing Achiuwa or Sims for more than 5 mins game. During the regular season, Achiuwa's rebounding numbers were among the best in the league when OG, Randle, and Robinson were out. This is where Thibs stubborness can hurt him. He is slow to adapt. Your shooters are struggling today. Maybe you could use another big man down low to rebound the missed shots.

Yeah at one point in the first half he had Sims out there with four smaller guys. The start was so poor but Achiuwa had scored like six points and gotten a couple of boards. Maybe he was messing up the rotation down the other end. But I did not think we would play many minutes with neither Hartenstein or Achiuwa in the game I actually checked to see if they were in foul trouble but not the case. The problem is all of these guys are rather limited offensively but this is the situation we find ourselves in. Sims is playing minutes because he has to not because he has proven himself ready for NBA playoff games. Hopefully the experience will allow him to settle down a bit.

Sims may be limited in offensive skills, but defensively he brings a lot. Not much different than Robinson. With such a limited rotation due to injuries, Sims should play just to give some guys a break. I think age/experience is the main factor. But Achiuwa has shown he is more than capable of contributing at both ends of the floor.

Do you want some cheese with your whine.

BS Kicked ball on Pacers and a BS Offensive Blocking Foul and Technical in last 12 seconds on Pacers in game 1.

LOL!! It goes both ways sometimes.

Talk about missing the point. No one is b*tching except you because it's not your team in the same position.
LOL........You complained (bitching) about the following in your post:

- It's when the fouls are called.
- Pointed out the miss call on Siakam for holding Hart as another Pacer drives. That play may have changed the outcome of the game.
- Hart had a layup block by the Pacer center, which would have given the Knicks a 4 point lead (under 2 minutes). It turned out to be a missed goaltending.

Similar stuff to Pacers in Game 1...Bad Calls Happens.

Common sense isn't all that common. My point was the officiating hads been terrible for both sides and that info came from the two minute report. Always a lurker out there to stir up sh*t and not have the whole story before commenting.

Knicks defense was great last night.

When they were shutting down the pacers in first ten seconds of a possession, Pacers looked lost on offense if they didn't get a look within those first ten secs, their shooting percentage falls off a cliff

Healthy Brunson = Knicks win in six. With neither team being THAT good offensively, Brunson being so much better than Haliburton is really what does it, it's that simple

Haliburton looked like a scared kid last night. Soft. Wanted nothing to do with the ball. Just chucked up bunch of deep threes.

Knicks need Minnesota to win tonight and take care of business tomorrow night.

Two extra days off if that happens

Step 1 ✅ Wolves destroying nugs

Horrendous 1st half except for McBride

6-13 foul shots

Brunson has missed 11 straight shots

Feels like they’re down 20 but it’s 61-51

See you Sunday

League needs to explain

Friday night teams Sunday 3:30

Thursday night teams Sunday. 8pm
