Mets in playoffs or RU vs. MSU and or tOSU. Where are you that night? I'm in front of the tube. $$$$
Tough one. You can be in front of the tube and make some good money too...just a thought. I'm a Cubs fan and these opportunities don't come too often.
I live in Georgia, so I won't be at the stadium for MSU or tOSU anyway. I'd be flipping between the games.
Both NLDS matchups will have game 2 on Saturday October 10; broadcast carried by TBS. If it is Mets-Dodgers, I'm guessing that probably is the night game instead of Cardinals-(Cubs/Pirates).
October 24th will be the 6th game of the NLCS (if necessary) and the 7th game of the ALCS.

Solo home runs are so cute. But how about stringing some hits together for a change. Not much of that at all going on during this homestand.
Don't like how the Mets are playing right now. The number may go down tonight based on the Nats losing but we are not getting clutch hits and Clippard looks like a problem in the pen.
Mets have no mojo...it's stunning to see a 360 since 1-2 weeks ago......hopefully the games at the Reds and Phillies will help them.. as maybe they need to get away from NY...
For over a month the Mets were the best hitting team in either league. The best. Way outperforming the back of their baseball cards. Did anyone expect that to continue indefinitely?

Win tomorrow and we are all happy again. We all would have liked a sweep. But regardless of your opponent, it's tough to sweep a series with your #5, 6, and 7 starting pitchers.
Hitting was as much the problem as was the starting pitching. That has been the case in most of these recent losses. Nobody expects 8-10 runs a game. But some quality at-bats, not constantly falling behind 0-2 and good situational and timely hitting would go a long way.
And the Dodgers have now lost 4 straight. Including one by Kershaw. And yet we haven't taken advantage of that opportunity to catch or even overtake them.
Supposedly, Clippard is pitching with back problems. It was shocking to see him out there two nights in a row as a result. So I don't think its anything particular about him other than he needs some more rest to get healthy for the postseason.
I don't agree with his strategies all the time but I do agree with what Collins said I'm his post game remarks. His quote; "We've got to play better. We came off a tremendous road trip; came home. We've played great at home all year long. And all of a sudden, we've hit a wall. We aren't swinging the bats very good. We had what 10 more strikeouts tonight? We've got to quit trying to hit homers I think and hit some line drives."
I live down in the Atlanta area and according to their announcers the Braves have pretty much owned Clippard going back to his years with the Nationals. I would have gone with Reed who I think might just supplant Clippard as the 8th inning guy.
That does happen, look at Randy Johnson he could dominate pretty much any team he wanted just about every time, but the Mets were a thorn in his side during his NL and Yankee days.
I do agree with that as well. Flores, for example, last night kept swinging for the fences from what I saw of the game. Unfortunately checking the scores in class doesn't give me enough of a sample size. Basically, they need to get back to basics.

That just goes to show you that he felt better about getting one more out of Colon than anyone he would have bought in for the 6th.
They'd better hope that Baltimote holds on so they can get one game closer to backing into the division crown.
As much as the Mets should be kicking themselves due to stinking it up on this homestand while the Dodgers have been faltering, the Nats must really be sick right now. Oh well. Let's Go D'Backs.
maybe they will snap out of this slump but certainly lowering expectations for the playoffs. i realize we are not throwing the top of the staff these nights but offensively we are looking challenged again. too many strikeouts. D'Arnaud and Cuddyer back to back looked at two strikes and then swung and missed at the third.

I don't know what to think of the Mets as of late...no mojo.....Familia was due to blow one as he's been dealing with fire as of late....I'm hoping the road is what the team needs to get away from the "pressure" and as much as I have been against it - stay with Tejada for the time being at SS - as Flores looks scared at the plate taking half swings etc....

At anything to strike out. That 3rd strike that Travis swung and missed at in the 7th or 8th was so far off the plate he couldn't have hit it with a 40 inch long bat. Poor command of the strike zone and lack of discipline. Watching the games it looks like Murphy is about the only one who consistently makes solid contact. Even his outs tonight were well hit liners that were just right at outfielders. They have the rest of the season to restore the confidence I had in them before the last 10 or so days.
