OT:LET'S GO METS

If you look at both dugouts, the Royals are by far more into it. They think they are going to win. The Mets dugout just wants to survive another at bat, another inning

What did you think of Pharoah yesterday? What an amazing horse. Truly the best I've seen as an adult.

Wow. Defense and nerves are ultimately going to do the Mets in. Amazing that even professional grown men can succumb to the moment.

We'll see what the Mets are made of. Amazing how different this series would be if the entire team didn't go brain-dead.

I'll start a thread about that tomorrow. Worked yesterday and barely got home tonight for first pitch

Can someone explain why after Murphy gives up an error, he reaches into his back pocket and puts Chap Stick on?? That was the most crazy thing I have ever seen.

On his lips or under the eyes? Could be Burt's Bee's which is strong enough to actually help keep you more alert and awake when applied under the eyes, good trick for long nights drinking....or playing baseball I guess.

I'm done. Turning this game off. I refuse to see them celebrating on our field and clubhouse. Davis is a beast as a closer and we can't hit for sh_t other than solo home runs. If they make the unlikeliest of comeback than I'll just have to miss it. But I don't see it all. Call it what you want. Let the lineup makeover begin. And I posted this at 3-2 let alone now 7-2.

Maybe Fred Wilpon needs to sit down with Mr. Steinbrenner for a lesson or two on how to win a World Series or two, three or four.

Is there a rule that requires managers to wear uniforms? Seeing 60+ year old men dressed up in unis always makes me laugh.

You guys excited about Conforto? I love these kids. It's like having a full roster of Wrights and Reyeses circa 2005.

A better manager and a couple of bats, combined with this pitching staff, you could see the Mets back next year.

I wanna see Dilson Herrera. I want to see Dominic Smith come 2017. Line drive hitter and slick with the glove down at 1st. Enough of these all or nothing guys. And far more often nothing.

Ya

Yankees/Mets in 2016.
I know you Met fans don't want to hear the would of, could of, should of....but as a diehard Yankee fan and baseball fan the Mets were a very entertaining team to watch. With that pitching I'm sure they will be back. I don't understand the hatred for the catcher. He could be the next Jorge

I hate to say this but I think David Wright is playing in constant pain. I stand by what I said regarding a better hitting SS and a better defensive catcher and hitter.

Good night gentlemen it's been an exciting year for Mets fans. Congratulations to the Kansas City Royals.

After this series I don't think people have to worry about Daniel Murphy breaking the bank. Man did he go back to being a toad

Me too. Hopefully they get up and get their chance to play sooner rather than later.

Yea, but that NLCS display was one of the coolest things ever.

True. That's why I'm hoping for somewhat of a lineup makeover. A different approach. Guys with more of an OBP mentality and a varied skillset.
You need only to look at the Royals guys.
Leg speed, bat speed, can't strike em out, great defense.
Like a guy said, The Royals play baseball like zombies, you can't kill them.
Daniel Murphy is the opposite of what the Royals look for in a player.
No you can't take away his LCS

Quote of the night, courtesy of Frank Thomas: " the Mets have nothing to hang their heads about, except they didn't play that well and they gave away the World Series." Oh, well other than that... lol

Yes it was a great NLCS. Like a lot of fans I thought the Mets would rise up and take it all. But part of my expectation was due to seeing Royals live in Yankee Stadium on Memorial Day where they lost 14-1. I thought they must suck lol. But the last Yankee game I saw live had Reggie Jackson in it so I'm no expert lol.

All you need to know about Murphy and the way the shine from his NLCS wore off, is that he received a mock cheer when he fielded either the second or third out in the that final inning cleanly.

Just got home from game.....very proud of this team and what they accomplished this year........face it, we were several outs away in games 1,4 and 5 from winning this damn thing.......And I agree with what Zappa and RU Jersey said above.........very well said.....already looking forward to next season..and hopefully some new faces will improve the offense.....

Biggest needs:

- Need a SS
- Need CF presuming Cespedes leaves
- Need 8th inning RP
- Looking forward to Herrera as I hope he can steal and get on base

Daily Collins Mistakes:

- Keeping Cespedes in to hit when he was injured......he hits a ground ball there...it's a triple play...
- Agreed with having Harvey start the 9th but should have taken him out after walking Caim
- Should not have had Reed pitch......it was his 3rd straight game and he was gassed...Niese should have had the ball for the 12th....

What a gut wrenching WS. Could have won Games 1, 4 and 5 with just a bit of luck and better defense.

Took my daughter tonight for our 1st World Series game. Hope the next one is soon.

Another tough loss. Too many missed opportunities to add on. Collins had a rough couple of games handling his staff. It will be an interesting off season. This thread was a good one for Mets fans. Maybe next year we can do it again.
