^^^^^ @newell138 - even the board pothead is making fun of you. 😁

I have zero interest in porn. The last time I saw any was at a bachelor party when I was in junior high school...about 60 years ago. I never understood some people's fascination with watching other people have sex.it could be worse... like posting a link to Asian porn
Listen to the guys arguments. Besides none of them have put a man on the moon. For me it’s the technology argument. Why is it harder to do today with the technology so far advanced from 1969?
Moon rocks had three new elements not found on earth. They were named for the astronauts. Other countries, universities got samples. The astronauts were pretty high character fellas I couldn't see pulling a scam for 50 years.
"Three minerals were discovered from the Moon: armalcolite, tranquillityite, and pyroxferroite. Armalcolite was named for the three astronauts on the Apollo 11 mission: Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins."
Rocks also didn't have the layering that gravity and water cause on earth

The 2009 Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter took pics of Tranquility Base
Not true. Off the top of my head I remember they found orange rocks and soil on Apollo 15(?)All moon rocks are gray/white/black.
The fake rock is easy to dismiss.
Niel Armstrong was from Ohio.
Schiano could wake-up tomorrow and say Armstrong gave him a moon rock for Ohio St clubhouse.
Anybody can say anything - maybe the Dutchman got burned and he's fibbing off his goof.
Over 100 countries got real rocks and none from a "world tour" using astronaut's private stock

That's cool. I am a huge fan of debate and critical thinking, and do find it interesting that somebody can make a logical step-wise case (easily refuted or not) for something that's ridiculous.
Disclaimer: I didn't listen to this particular segment; I just trust Newell's judgment...
I can appreciate that but nevertheless, the arguments the guy makes does make me wonder. Anyone calling Joe Rogan dumb has never listened to his show, he's actually quite smart.
Putting dumb and smart aside, more than anything else he’s curious about things. That’s what I enjoy about his show. Like anything else there episodes I can take or leave. But you can absolutely learn a lot from listening.
This is a great comment on how message boards work in general...
ETA: When posting anything, on has to remember that to many, the post is a sledgehammer rather than a scalpel. There ain't no nuance on a message board.
Ha ha, Newell made it 100% clear that he believes the moon landing was not faked, but yet he's being slammed as if he said it was...
It's over 3 hours long! I don't have that kind of time to listen to a former taxi driver explain why the moon is made of green cheese.so you didn't listen
Yeah and Democrats don't believe that the election was stolen (another wacko conspiracy), they don't support a traitor or vote for his followers, and don't think that Jan. 6 was a "demonstration" or that those criminals should be pardoned. So, I guess you're a Democrat. Next time keep the politics off this board.the board has sunk to a new low
always remember, America reads at a 7th grade level
before computers, and while education was still good, more than half couldn't balance a checkbook
half the country still supports the democrats
but this thread and this belief by some is out there, like out there man
so you didn't listen
Thank for performing this service so the rest of us don't have to.I listened for about 1.5 hours all I had time for while working. My favorite part was when Sibrel stated UFOs and Aliens are real but not from Outer Space. He stated they are inter-dimensional or fallen angels / demonic - then promoting his book and website. The discussion between him and Rogan then goes on to discuss that Aliens are Demonic and inter-breeding with Humans - and expands on Artificial Life Forms with no soul and plans to the universe being superior to Biologic Life forms and will overpower the Human Race.
Aside from that, a lot of it was typical conspiracy innuendo. How the moon landing was fake - the reason because there were a lot of gov't conspiracies at that time. Conflating X-Ray & Gamma radiation with Particle Radiation in the Van Allen Belts. Talking about how some video was faked with Sibrel knowing it was fake and a lie because he's an experienced film maker. Saying that we never went to the moon because technology in a cell phone now has 1000X more computing power and if this was the case we would be now on Mars and all over the Galaxy. Talking about how Gus Grissom was killed by the CIA over this.
Of particular note - he said that there has never been an aviation project that worked on the first attempt - relating Orville and Wilbur Wright as an example. This was definitely not true as there were over 70 various missions between US and Russia before Apollo 11 - many of which were failures.

20th century??? lol, you better open some history books:)I am always amazed how passionate people are to commit to one side or the other on many topics and leave no room to even consider other possibilities. 20th century mass psychology is phenomenal in its capabilities of controlling public opinion. Key information regarding the most sensitive topics of our time is classified, compartmentalized and are also drowned into a pool of disinformation, misinformation, false dichotomies, etc. As a former Newell resident myself, I’ll take a look at the podcast with an open mind 🤣. I am actually more open to the idea that much more was found on the moon than is revealed to protect public order, and haven’t went back officially. I wouldn’t be surprised if some black site launches head to the moon regularly from remote areas on earth.
Yes I meant 20th century as mass psychology began to be quantified and studied more thoroughly to control public opinion (for good and bad) The century of the self bbc documentary and the influence of Edward Bernays* on mass psychology is quite interesting and highlights some of the techniques used and herein demonstrated on this thread by the replies.20th century??? lol, you better open some history books:)
cool handle name by the way
cool, my point stands cause while 'defined', Brzezinski didn't 'discover' anything that hasn't been common practice for centuries if not Millenia by rabble, writers, influencing agents of all sorts. Hell, one could astutely argue the enlightenment movement, via the social internet of the day, swept across national borders. Vive La Pamphlets!Yes I meant 20th century. The century of the self documentary and the influence of Zbigniew Brzezinski on mass psychology is quite interesting.
Username checks out 🤣I listened for about 1.5 hours
😊. That might be unfair.
This was a scholarly discussion that had been curated and put on my “must listen” list!
I didn’t appreciate the spoilers!
(Truth be told I couldn’t even read the synopsis. Even that would aggravate me because we know that there are people who take that podcast at face value.)
I have it as 2nd dumbest, just a smidgen behind the flat earthers...Of all the dumb conspiracies out there, the fake moon landing may be the single dumbest. Truly stupid beyond words.
Don't believe it. Conspiracy theories are insidious and make you question your own facts. Obviously, millions believe them. Save yourself.Anytime I ever heard someone say the moon landing was fake I put them in the tin foil hat crowd but after listening to this I’m really wondering. This guy lays out some pretty good arguments as to why and Rogan does a good job of questioning all his points but he has answers to all of them. If actually true the question begs what are they doing with all that money?
I saw a Reddit comment that said "A fully fueled starship with 150 tons of payload in LEO is what, the equivalent of about 10 Saturn V launches." Don't have time to fully research that but it makes sense.. Apollo's Saturn was just enough to launch, travel and land and get home.. minimal payload. Starship is a much larger reusable "capsule".Elon Musk Says It Could Take Eight Starship Launches to Fuel Up a Single Moon Trip
That's a lot of launches.futurism.com
All of this is funny. Yes, newell basically said that he never believed these whackos, but is now “wondering”Anytime I ever heard someone say the moon landing was fake I put them in the tin foil hat crowd but after listening to this I’m really wondering. so you didn't listen either. All of this is funny. Yes, newell basically said that he never believed these whackos, but is now “wondering”
That says he just got swayed by Joe Rogan…
so you didn't listen either.
This whole episode points out the frailty of human knowledge. And while it might be flawed, the scientific method, with its emphasis on disprovable hypotheses and adversarial peer review process, is still the greatest most reliable generator of human knowledge in existence. Without it we are just smart(ish) monkeys repeating stuff we heard from someone else who sounded confident.Rogan to his credit did take the role of devil's advocate trying to punch holes in Sibrel's points for most of the 1.5 hours I listened to. However I'm very down on the the fact that they gave this guy any type of credible platform to essentially consistently shill his website and book(s). I spent ~1.5 hours on this, and while it might be somewhat interesting on an entertainment level - similar to say watching an episode of Ancient Aliens - I'm hard pressed to understand how in any way it helps me or anyone else as a person and/or increases knowledge base of the way things work. If you research the history of moon landing conspiracies, Sibrel is essentially saying the same things that were introduced and born out of the Flat Earther conspiracy groups from the 1970s.
My thoughts exactly. Rogan actually argues against the guys point for most of what I listened to. I don’t see any problem with the conversation, it was definitely interesting. Instantly labeling everything a conspiracy theory is more dangerous to me. Too many often end up with some truth to them.I watched. It’s interesting and there’s nothing irrational about what he’s saying. He raises some good points that nasa should answer.
I believe we went but wouldn’t be shocked if we didn’t. What’s crazy are the people who come fired out of a cannon yelling tinfoil ready to carry water for anything the media or government says
