Nebraska planning a $450 million renovation of Memorial Stadium - Footballscoop
>Memorial Stadium has undergone some renovations here and there dating back to the 1960s, but one of the areas that has remained untouched is the south end of the stadium. The latest plans call for a complete removal and replacement of the south stadium, making it unavailable to fans for at least the entire 2025 season, and quite possible the 2026 season as well.<

This probably shows a heck of a lot more in Jerseyimagine what it would cost here to do the same. Their 450 mil would be at least a billion here.
$1 Billion in NJ gets you a MetLife abomination for a stadium. This probably shows a heck of a lot more in Jersey

>Although there isn't a specific state-by-state comparison of commercial construction costs, we've based our breakdown on a solid index of housing and labor costs.
#8 New Jersey. With its small size and proximity to NYC, New Jersey gets a lot of commercial construction that drives up expenses
#48 Nebraska. With wide-open spaces and low costs of living, Nebraska has low construction expenses.<

So, you're saying that they'll have a gap?!
The south stadium part really needs to done. The reason it’s never been done is because there are old locker rooms and stuff underground under it. The foundation wouldn’t allow any changes with how it was built. Only fix is to remove it completely. And build new. When they remove it the capacity will drop to 61,000 while it isn’t available. When completed capacity will go up to about 75,000.@huskersalways wanna chime in here?
What is there to do in Nebraska?Half of the funding will come from private donors.
I know that they were the team of the 90’s. I did not know that they still have a wealthy and devoted fan base.
What is there to do in Nebraska?
In college at RU traveled with the marching band to almost every away B1G stadium. Nebraska was my favorite trip ever (Wisconsin a close 2nd)What is there to do in Nebraska?
Stadium dominates the campus.
Especially after driving through the open country coming into town.
In Nebraska it is mostly this....Sad that they probably make 1/3 of the money this fanbase makes but still donate so much more.
WHAT? That is an insult to the International Quilt Museum.Omaha is impressive. There is nothing at u of neb.
What is the average cost of housing?Sad that they probably make 1/3 of the money this fanbase makes but still donate so much more.

Then you have to factor in disposable income. Even if they make less.. they might have more to spend because politicians aren't camping out in their pockets. Why do you assume that University of Nebraska alumni make less money than alumni Rutgers? That is a very snotty elitist attitude.
I've gone twice and was never bored. Even spent a couple of days in Omaha. It's a fabulous place.
