That's it, Oct. 31st at Rutgers stadium we organize a protest #PlasticBagsMatter. No way Murphy can stop us. Even during Covid, he said, protesting is our American right. Let's get 52,400 there and show him our true feeling on the matter.

No face diapers allowed , right ?

Well one of Murphy's campaign promises was to make NJ like California--- wouldn't that be nice

Ah shiit, that pink fire retardant is going to mess up my landscaping and pool water.

Neighborhoods will become minefields of dog poop. Many people won’t want to go buy bags just for the dog. Night dog walks will become the norm for Sparky.

I have two dogs; have never used the grocery bags outside of a few emergencies when out of poop bags, and don’t know anyone who regularly uses grocery bags for picking up poop. They’re thin, often have holes that you’ll discover at the wrong time, and poorly shaped for the job.

This is where I remind you Illinois has had Republican governors for something like 35 of the last 50 years — one went to jail for a truck licensing fraud ring that was uncovered by a truck crash that killed an entire family.

Fraud, waste, and corruption don’t distinguish blue / red party identities.
I said “both factions”...

I don’t have a dog myself, but my sister does and that is what they use. I give them some of mine. Whenever I have dog watched, I fold it over so it is not thin.I have never seen anyone not use the supermarket plastic bags except for very old people who can not bend down. They use those metal dustpans with the little bulldozer like scoop that slides out. Must be gross having to wash those off.

What does the that have to do with anything... for that matter you had Blagojevich impeached and removed and he was a blue . They gave misused the monies and most of those states are not Red.

So basically, if this isn’t delayed or overturned if there is a new Governor, people have 18 months to stockpile if they use them for dogs, coffee grounds, grease , etc. If shoppers help bag, just use two bags for everything, not just heavy items like milk, soda, laundry detergent, etc. That should keep folks well supplied for quite a few years.

I hope all you people enjoy picking up those steaming piles with those extra thin plastic bags
a scoop sounds like the way to go

Paper straws really suck and not in the way you want them too. Had one in my glass of water while eating dinner and the f'ing thing collapsed after 20 minutes. Oh the humanity!
I disagree. We had paper straws in the 1970’s and they worked as intended. Maybe they just don’t know how to make them

Well, they're cheap and lazy then. I use grocery bags, and if those aren't available I use something else. Some people dont clean up, period.

Seriously, you're all teed up ...bring on the Rutgers dog ×+÷% bags!! Perfect product for past few years.

It is not. (Unless you like having a ÷×%= bag, !#÷= covered scooper and dog to split between 2 hands while walking.

In the yard, maybe ...but still nah.

No scoops, no grocery bags. Just buy the big boxes of dog poop bags from amazon. Comes out to less than 3 cents a bag. They’re thicker than a grocery bag, don’t easily puncture, hold the smell, and they’re easy to handle and tie.

Right, like telling people that they have to wear a mask. My body my choice! Next them lefties are gonna tell women that they must keep that fetus inside their body for 9 month, whether they decide they want it or not....umm....hey....wha?
Just stop because you look stupid. I hate nanny state government so that MUST mean I am anti mask and anti abortion?

Its naive to think that way but that's the typical myopic, identity-politics driven view you get from the left.

"and don’t know anyone who regularly uses grocery bags for picking up poop. " you must be very unpopular

I get banning the plastic bags, I don't understand the paper bags.
That being said, I have been using these bags for years.....they are strong (I can put 3 2liter bottles of soda in them) and they can be put in the washer and the dryer...which is a huge plus over every other kind of reusable bag. They come in a pod that clips to your shopping cart so they are not all over the place.

Agree with you about the plastic and paper. Great idea. Thanks for the link. Do you know f they are made in the US ?

The plastic bag ban is a red herring designed to divert us from the real problem. The real enemy of the environment is carbon dioxide. I look forward to the day when Murphy makes NJ a leader in the fight against CO2 and bans breathing. Remember you expel death to our planet each time you exhale.

Only reading the first entry in this 156-entry thread I was disappointed the topic isn’t cornhole.

NY also relaxed rules due to pandemic--there obviously were "good" reasons for doing so--can't we also ban the WAPO and NY Times--to save the world and trees

We can't ban newspapers. I know Republicans hate it but we have a Constitution with the First Amendment.

It's for literate people who see this wouldn't take place for 18 months.

Well we can hijack the thread if you would like to. Let me start . My wife bought an American flag cornhole game this summer. Our neighbors have two little girls one is 4 the other 3. They like the game.
