OT: NY Yankees 2025 Season Thread

That throwing error on the ground ball is proof why all outs are not the same. If you strike out there, the inning is over. Put the ball in play and something crazy can happen like an error that scores two runs.

Hated the walk to the 9 hitter and the 2 run HR that followed, but I think we all would’ve signed up for 5 innings, 2 runs from Warren.

Was Weaver and/or Williams not available to pitch in the 8th?

Alarming that Leiter is among the better bullpen arms on the Yanks right now.
BTW, 1 thru 4 hitters were 0-15 tonight.

Chisholm didn't do himself any favors pissing and moaning about the strike zone.
It was crap for both teams and he should know on a cold night, the ump was gonna expand the zone.

14 Ks is brutal.

Was mad last night. I'm just going to turn the page today. I'll start judging them after April and most of May. Can't judge a team on a cold night and under 30 games under their belt.

30 Ks in the last two games...YIKES
the bats dont help when you don't make contact.

And I am just kidding with you- the offensive start the Yankees have had has very little to do with the bats. I am going to bet that if you take the Yankee stats out of all the new bat stats for all players in the league- there would not be a huge difference.

Nine teams have players using the Torpedo bat including the Mets's Francisco Lindor. This isn't a Yankees thing. It's a baseball thing.
Aaron Judge who is batting .368 with 7 home runs is not one of the players using that bat.

Yes, agree with you.

Looks like a bullpen game on Thursday.

The only question will be if Leiter blows another one of if there is even a chance for a save?

If Carrasco is indeed starting, this could get ugly real fast.

I hadn't even realized you guys had signed Carrasco

What's odd is he was one of the worst relievers this spring.

The kind of guy that pitches when you're up by 8 runs or down by 8 runs.

I'm pleasantly surprised with 5 inning and 3 runs. Not great but now bad from the inning eater who I had low expectations from

We're blessed to see this guy play every day. He's truly remarkable.
I always said I wanted to see this guy with a full healthy year and we have gotten a few of them now- he is not a generational talent but an all time talent.

If he stays on this path- he is climbing into the Mays/Williams/Ruth realm

If you aren't excited about watching the youth in the Yankees lineup hitting well, you don't have a pulse. Gotta give those kids a chance!

Sounds good since the Yanks have such a great track record of developing young players. Over the past 10 years you have Judge and.................well..................um...............you have Judge and...............hmm..............well. Maybe Volpe? But that is a work in progress.

Volpe is killing the ball this year. I think he's figured it all out.

Chisholm is such a jackass on called strikes and I'm sure has earned a reputation with MLB umpires!

Quickly learning to dislike the guy.

Apparently the Tigers are using the Torpedo bat and NYY went back to using the Wiffle bat!

The number of Ks on offense is just mind boggling. Unproductive outs.
Five swinging Ks vs Flaherty in two innings.
If these guys don't hit HRs, they can't score.

Am I the only person not impressed with Devin Williams????

Second time this season he's come into a game in a save situation and thrown 30+ pitches and basically removed any potential to pitch the next day.

Make this joker the 8th inning guy and put Weaver back as closer. Perhaps he can't handle the NYY pressure?
