Do you complain during Texas games when they show Matthew McConaughey 15 times or the Eagles with Bradley Cooper's dumb face every minute? I doubt it.

Let me guess you also loved every second they show Gandolfini in Rutgers gear as well?

They did the same at the end of the regular season. Maybe the disastrous Chargers. Commercials would have been better or silence — actually with just a field mic.

Game was a huge success and got huge ratings.

Great job by peacock and NFL.

Sad to see some old timers hate on it. Might be time for them to hang it up.

I m ashamed to admit this, but here it is
Back in 1980 or so, I tried to pick up RU away basketball games on WRSU, or the CTC station, from up north jersey
Their signals were too weak, so I bought an out door antenna, hooked it up to a radio, and put it in a closet, trying anything to help that along
Did not help too much

I live in Hillsborough and bought a digital antenna that says indoor/outdoor from amazon. It's a small black box with a signal amplifier between the antenna and tv. It definitely has better reception outdoors and receives channels from NY and Phil but while indoors, only receives Phil and the signal scrambles depending on weather. What is the range on the one you have and is it better if you put it on the roof?

** AMEN ... F'em... all streaming will be killing the golden goose. Can only go to the well$ so many times. This will happen to all sports, NHL, MLB, NBA (but i don't watch that garbage anyway), NCAA March Madness games, happening to BTN with their +channels, and big time tournament matches: The Masters, Wimbledon, Olympics in its entirety.... crack in the damn.

They did for the regular season game they had but yeah I'm sure that won't last.
 
True story ...

In the mid-1990s, I lived in the Davidson Dorms, the ones that were like single story converted army barracks (I have no idea if they are still there or not). Whatever they were made of (steel?) did not allow for television reception through an antenna. All you got was static. And this was before the dorms got cable TV. So I tied about 30 feet of speaker wire to the antenna-connection on the back of the TV, snaked it out the window, and then I tied it to a branch at the top of the tallest tree right outside the window. So we were the only room in the doom that could get crystal-clear CBS, NBC and ABC - it meant we could watch Letterman, Saturday Night Live and Monday Night Football - which was a minor miracle. Each channel meant you had to slightly pull on the wire (and move the branch) to get reception and sometimes someone had to hold the wire the entire show or it would get static ... but it was the best we could do.

Once every two weeks or so, the fire department would come by and cut our wire and post a note on our door threatening to fine us, but they never did. I'd just climb back up the tree with new wire the next day.

As an aside, we had a TV in the lounge/common area of the dorm, too. But this one could only get PBS. Which meant at 3 PM every day you had fifteen 18 year old guys piled in the dorm lounge watching the Muppet Show because they were so deprived of TV they'd watch anything.

Thought the broadcast / streaming was fine (eg no freezing or buffering) but was it 60 fps? Ball seemed to blur / flicker whenever there was a pass.

Also love how they've also secured Oppenheimer but it's not available until Feb 16th, which is literally juuuuust over a month after the game to try and keep people who signed up just for last night.

Funny. Growing up we got just 2 NFL games televised a week. Now you can see every college game and every NFL on multiple days of the week and you guys are complaining about streaming prices lol. Go back to the good ole days and take your 2/3 over the air games and stop complaining.

If you don't watch regular TV, then sports going to streaming is extremely cheaper - for now.

Didn't say it was good (or bad). Its just the evolution of broadcast media. With the growing trend towards streaming the NFL is exploring and prepping for a different revenue stream. Some may not like it (as expressed here) but its a smart business move to continue to test market and then tweak as needed. Ultimately the public market will decide, but the younger population is much more in on streaming than GenX and Boomers.

Internet through att is $45/month…tmobile for phone is $62/month…through those two services which are necessary in this day and age, I get all my tv watching…no actual subscription paid for…when sprint was consumed by T-Mobile, Hulu went away. They’ve been trying to lure me back, but i barely watched it…the email barrage finally stopped.

My point is, you can avoid paying for all these services, especially if live sports is not your thing…it is not to me. If there’s a game I want to watch, I go to a sports bar, those have been very few…trying to convince my brother to dump cable…but he seems happy wasting $$$ on content he and his wife don’t watch.

As a Giants fan, I couldn't care less about a Jets game over any other game.
I would imagine most football fans feel the same.
