OT: Post different types of beer you've tried, and how it was.

Side Project's Beer: Barrel: Time (2020) was probably the best beer I've had...

For Beer : Barrel : Time 2020, we chose a blend of our stout recipes that consists of:
O.W.K. recipe aged in Willett Bourbon barrels for 15 months
O.W.K. recipe aged in Eagle Rare Bourbon barrels for 32 months
O.W.K. recipe aged in Weller 12 Bourbon barrels for 24 months
Derivation Blend #2 recipe aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels for 36 months
Vibes recipe aged in Knob Creek Bourbon barrels for 28 months
 
Fruity nuances of banana and cloves intermingle with malt flavors to create a balanced beer with a light, creamy character. This premium, naturally cloudy, pale amber wheat beer is truly a feast for the senses. It is the ideal reward at the end of a long day.

I really like this beer, but if I could only pronounce its name.

Notes: Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure.

Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full.

Yea bbt4 is good. Best SP beer I had was OWK. That share was insane. Had OWK, 2012 VBDL, KBBS 1-3, Both SR-71, Gold Assasin, D6, forgot what else pics are on my IG filipinomike

Loved BBT4 and wish I had more but those secondary prices, lol. That's some 🐳🐋 share. Very jealous.
 
I've been to the brewery in Portland, ME but nice to see some Bissell Brothers in the area. Had Substance Ale last weekend.

the can came back in once craft beer became cool. Used to be that crushing a can of coors lite was reserved for college parties and softball games, but now the more interesting beers are available in can-only so that makes it ok.

In a way, it's kind of a reverse of what it was in my younger days. Used to be cans where the cheap way to drink for volume and we'd get bottles if we wanted to "class it up". These days, if I'm having a bbq, I make sure to stock some fat tire or brooklyn bottles in the cooler for anyone that just wants to have a beer to have a beer. And cans of the more unique stuff for anyone who wants to class it up or try something new.

I agree with you though. I like opening a can and pouring it into... get this... a clear 18 oz. plastic cup. It reminds me of drinking at the beach/boardwalk or at baseball game, my two favorite places to tie one on

It's summer and I'm a sucker for anything beach-themed so right now I'm liking any of the Cape May Brewing IPAs (Make Fast is great). I also get the Ship Bottom Brewing Barneget Lager, it's like $10 for a 4 at my local store but an icy cold one of those outside is dynamite (don't know why it's so cheap).

It's summer and I'm a sucker for anything beach-themed so right now I'm liking any of the Cape May Brewing IPAs (Make Fast is great). I also get the Ship Bottom Brewing Barneget Lager, it's like $10 for a 4 at my local store but an icy cold one of those outside is dynamite (don't know why it's so cheap).
Cape May's shandys are the perfect summer beers, try The Bog (cranberry) and The Purp (grape) are fantastic, low in ABV and calories.

I also think the cans are just colder than bottles. I like lagers in the summer and it has to be cold.

Good note. I've seen those in the store, but always hesitate to get anything too outside the box (sours or really fruit infused stuff) since I don't really drink a whole lot, and don't keep a ton of beer in the house. I'll usually stick to more down the middle IPA varieties and lagers. I'll give them a try though, especially for summer.

Also check out The Grove by them as well. It’s another shandy. Very good, light and refreshing

Hill Street Honey American Ale​

Hill Street Honey American Ale possesses the nice golden color of a classic ale. While starting out as a hybrid American Pale-Amber ale, over time and tweaking it hass rounded out to fall more into the blonde ale family, a little hop forward with a pleasantly smooth finish that will let you keep enjoying them as you relax. Hill Street Honey’s bitterness is complimented by a whole bunch of New Jersey harvested honey that we add in during key parts of the brewing process.

These separately timed additions help spread out and layer the honey sweetness and citrus aromas throughout the brew thanks to the honey from the orange blossom. All of this complemented with smooth, slight biscuit flavors from the several types of grains we add in there. All this is brewed up then the magic of yeast takes over and we exclusively use yeast from Jersey’s own yeast company that just helps meld all of the flavors together into a wonderful American Ale.

It is a simple, delicious anytime-of-year session beer, yet it has a whole bunch of complex layers to it if one breaks it down. Great citrus and floral aromas, smooth and creamy head and mouthfeel, and a nice finish of citrus in the aftertaste. It’s good.

This is our flagship and we are proud to brew it and we hope you enjoy it and share it with all of your family and friends and have fun, and experience your beer.

I'm going camping up in Maine on Monday for the week and will be stopping at Tree House Brewery on the way up. It should be a good trip.
Try and go to Trillium too if you can. I stopped there a few years ago. Tremendous stuff
 
Kane Flipping Pancakes and Wooden Cleat (chestnut and bourbon versions) are excellent barleywines...

Flipping Pancakes was inspired by its sister barrel aged imperial stout – Dripping Maple. Instead of an imperial stout as its base, Flipping Pancakes is a blend of an oat heavy barleywine that was aged for 27 months in Willett Bourbon barrels and a Rye heavy barleywine that was aged for 34 months in Woodford Reserve Malt Whiskey barrels. The blend was then conditioned on Madagascar Vanilla Beans, Korintje Cinnamon and Maple.


14% Blend of Barleywines. Wooden Cleat – Bourbon is a blend of barleywines that were aged for 27 months in Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon Barrels. The result is a rich and complex beer filled with caramel, vanilla, and oak flavors.


Chestnut Double Barrel-aged Wooden Cleat is our 13.5% blend of the same barleywines that were aged for five months in awoodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon Barrels before being transferred to a new toasted Chestnut Puncheon to double barrel age for an additional 10 months. After the double barrel it was allowed to cold condition for an extended period. The result is an equally complex beer filled with caramel, and vanilla flavors balanced by sweet toffee notes from the chestnut.
 
Picked up a 6 of Cape May Tan Limes, Mexican style lager with lime and salt. Perfect for summer.

Tenth, is a blend of barrel aged beers to celebrate our first ten years of brewing. To commemorate this milestone, we pulled samples from various barrel aged beers we had in stock to create a special blend for our tenth anniversary. We believe this is the perfect beer to help represent our first ten years of production.

Einstock is the best wheat beer made on the planet. All their beers are exceptional. But the white is the best there is.
Ask your local store to bring in that cans instead. The wholesale price is $10 less a case which works out roughly $3 a six pack cheaper retail.

Helles Schlenkerla Lager​

Helles (pale) Schlenkerla Lager
“Schlenkerla Helles” is brewed with fine Bavarian aroma hops from the area around the city of Nürnberg. It's lagered in century old caves underneath the historic Schlenkerla brewery and maltings. Schlenkerla Helles is boiled in the same copper kettles and bottom fermented by the same yeast as the historic Schlenkerla Smokebeer. Its subtle smokiness without using smoke malt makes “Helles Schlenkerla Lager” a unique representative of the classic lager beer style “Bavarian Helles”.

At times the pale lager is also available as specially unfiltered edition.

Served/Sold:
All year round, in the bottle and keg, at selected taverns and shops. Export to the USA.
