OT: SouthernGentleman, you were wrong about Bobby P

Art Briles is available. 5 star dual threat QBs would be lining up to come.

We have a coach. But I guess if we would fire ash after 3 games briles would be top of the list for some . But we are Rutgers and would hire an unproven assistant on the cheap and pray it works .

I don't believe I ever said that he couldn't coach. Obviously he can coach.

I do believe I indicated that Petrino is a scumbag of a human being. As Popeye the sailor man used to say, "I calls them as I see them"!

Southern gentleman you did say petrino would eventually screw whatever program he was hired at .

You missed the point, turn on sarcasm meter.

Why the rag on Southern Gentlemen day?? Petrino is still a scumbag and time will tell if he goes off the straight and narrow or reverts back to his old behavior like walking out on the Falcons or bopping an athletic department associate. Good for Louisville that Jackson has developed into a star.

No , I didn't miss a point . We shouldn't be criticizing successful coaches like Bobby p or even briles . We aren't holier than thou.
We are Rutgers and won't hire someone like that anyway for better or worse .

Looking like a much better coach than Charlie Strong with yet another awful and disturbing loss. ND win/melt down losing luster quickly too.

My mistake. I definitely recall you saying he's a scumbag, but I thought you also said his time coaching and recruiting for the Razorbacks was going nowhere.

I also recall that he could recruit great offensive talent but didn't care that much about defensive talent. He spent the majority of the scholarship offers on offense, not defense. When Petrino left, the cupboard was definitely bare on the defensive side, and thin on the offensive side. He was chasing after something else then, not quality players.

quality coach........

Heck of a ride though . Screwing over is questionable . He did screw over the Falcons . But they stunk anyway with him . The Razorbacks wanted him gone after the motorcycle incident . He didn't screw over Louisville as the school basically begged him back .[/QUOTE]

Plumb Street....did you attend Rutgers etc. If not then perhaps he could represent your school. Regardless of his record I don't believe most RU alumni look at him favorably.

2001- left Jaguars for Auburn without ever telling Caughlin. Caughlin has never spoken to him since
2003- takes L'Ville job but decides to try to blindside them by taking to Auburn about their HC position before the ink even dries.
2004-06 interviews for almost any open job out there all the while telling L'Ville, their fans and their players he is not interested in any other jobs.
2007- Took Falcon job- on this one, cant ever blame a coach for going NFL
Nov 26 2007- says he has not considered leaving team
Dec 2007 -leaves team- tells team via a letter he had someone post in the locker room.
2012- Arkansas mess

Need anything else?

Yes and I would not be upset if Rutgers hired a winner like Bobby petrino . Would rather win with someone more classy like a schiano if given the choice .
Would you rather have petrino or flood coaching your football team ?

Petrino is supposedly a scumbag. Jim Calhoun is supposedly a scumbag. I'm sure they both are. Wouldn't have minded either one to have coached at RU if they would win here like they have/had at Louisville and Connecticut. Schiano rubbed a ton of people the wrong way yet most of us loved what he did for the program.

You'd be amazed at what can be forgiven if you win big as a coach. Anyone ever here of Joe Pa?

You had me the until the joe pa reference. Scum , fake classes and shady dealings are all part of this shady business known as college athletics . Child abuse is not

He can coach but like I said is a scumbag. F the Falcons over.

Sorry, of course it doesn't. I didn't type that part out right. Joe Pa was the worst. I find it amazing that people put football over ruining childrens lives.

The other stuff can be overlooked by winning. I work in sales. We have a couple of complete scumbags I work with. But my manager would never fire them. They are great salespeople and snakes. Everyone knows it but they are the top salespeople so their jobs are safe. Now under normal circumstances I wouldn't want a jerk as our coach who wins . But I prefer that over a having a lousy coach.

He left Louisville, didn't he? Before going back? If UofL keeps winning, he'll screwem again for Aurburn.

Chris Ash's coaching IQ is no where close to Bobby Petrino. I too thought Petrino was the answer when Schiano left for TB. The comments were comical.
"I want my degree to mean something"
"I will not renew my season tickets"

Coach Petrino and Louisville will win the ACC and most likely go the playoff this year. Trust me, if he does, the Petrino haters will have another excuse or reason to justify passing him up several years ago. Rutgers won't have a caliber team like Louisville for decades.

Please let my team win a conference title and play in a BCS game or final four playoff game . Then coach leaves . I will take that screw any day.
