OT: Springsteen Interview on Stern Show

Finally watched it today. I found it to be very enjoyable.

One funny small thing. Howard was asking about all of Bruce’s notes on the songs he wrote and where they are stored. Bruce said they are in an archive at “Mummoth College”. That is DEFINITELY the way folks from Freehold Borough talk. Of course, the correct pronunciation is “Mommoth”!

For herniated cervical discs (in the neck), traction, plus physical therapy is quite effective at relieving pain and avoiding surgery for long periods of time, up to many years. I should know, as I was diagnosed with a fairly severe C6-C7 herniation (MRI) about 15 years ago (was in serious pain for weeks before it was diagnosed properly) and my ortho sent me to get traction and PT and it worked beautifully. I kept up with the exercises at home, which is very important, but about 6 years later and then another 5 years later (about 4 years ago), I started getting worsening numbness/pain down my arm and in my fingers, so I was sent back for more traction and PT and both times, I was better in a week or two.

I also developed L4-L5 herniation (lumbar - lower back) several years ago, which has only been manifested in some tingling/numbness in the bottoms of my feet (no sciatica or other pain, thankfully - so far), but lumbar traction (2 attempts) was ineffective - my doc said the lumbar traction has a lower success rate but was worth trying. The problem is the symptoms in my feet could be due to several other things and many times are idiopathic (no root cause can be found).

By the way, if anyone is looking for a good physical therapist, I can't recommend our guy highly enough - Alex Ivashenko at Professional Physical Therapy in Edison. He has a PhD in PT, plus 40 years of experience in PT, plus he does a lot of work on RU athletes and is a huge RU sports fan to boot, so we get to shoot the breeze about RU sports while I'm there - I'm actually there right now for meniscus issues in my right knee.

Just listened to the interview. I enjoyed it, and I’m not a real fan of Bruce. Very thoughtful and thorough. Bruce chronicled how hard he worked and how obsessed he was with learning his craft. A great life lesson every person can benefit from.

Very well said.

In my opinion, it was an interview that could be called “lovely” or even “beautiful”.

I am surprised that more posters haven’t praised this VERY PRAISEWORTHY interview.

Sadly, it’s way more than “some”.
Oh for FFS get over yourselves. Some people don't give a shit about him because they don't. Not everything is political. But is always is to one side when things don't go their way.

A lot of people are still pissed at him for the Ticketmaster debacle and raping of his fans. Bruce stood by and fiddled while his fans burned. Remember when he said nobody wins unless everybody wins? Talk is cheap, Boss.

Meanwhile, Metallica, one of the biggest bands in the world, did an on sale giving their fan club members first crack. Scored great seats for $82 each versus the $1000 or $1500 during the Springsteen ticket debacle. As a nice bonus, they avoid politics in their shows.

I’ve seen enough Springsteen threads on this board and elsewhere to know what I said is absolutely true regardless of how you try to spin it.

And your “one side” comment is laughable. Get over yourself.

Cry harder. Correlation does not equal causation, but it is cute how you guys always think that it does. When you got nothing else, that's where you go.

Tour rehearsals started at Count Basie Theatre complex Monday. As usual, a small crowd has gathered outside to try to listen and get a glimpse as they enter/exit. Some riveting photos, especially the ones of Garry Talent and Nils Lofgren. Looks like Steven Van Zandt as dropped a lot of weight.

Anyone who would pay $1,000 or $1,500 for any concert ticket should have their head examined.
