OT-Still no viable non-cable options to obtain BTN?

Read some reviews of Vue service and they complained about stuttered delivery.
We have FireTV, and we took the FireTV with us to our vacation house, which has no high speed internet, only DSL. FireTV works fine. Watched bowl games over Christmas holiday through Watch ESPN with no issues. However, when we tried to watch our home TV via Sling, it did not go so well.
VUE offers a free trial, but your MMV on how well content streams.

SD or HD via DSL? Good info on other options for Vue - thought it was just available via PlayStation, which I have no need for.

My streaming (Roku/Apple TV WatchESPN, Netflix, etc.) seems to look better than my actual cable, especially for sports. I noticed this year, football action over cable is rather blurry - hoping its just a temp issue due to ongoing roadwork/digging, or I'm going to be the next one cutting the cord completely - football's pretty much the entire reason I keep cable around.

Pretty sure it was HD via DSL.
2 years ago, we used a Sling type device to sling our TV to an Ipad or laptop, and then plugged the HDMI cable to our 46" TV. It was brutally bad. Screen resolution was bad, high speed action was freezing and stuttering.

IIRC, other than a few stutters, this year over the FireTV it was magnificent. Clear picture, and it looked great on the 46" TV.

Man, this thread shows what a Wild West sh#tshow TV/streaming has become. Still don't see any viable option for getting BTN2go that doesn't involve paying a bunch of money for a package filled with a few good things and a bunch of fluff.

To sum up, you can:

- Pay $45 (and buy a PlayStation if you don't have one) to get PS Vue - probably cheaper than whatever upgraded cable package you need to get BTN (think mine is like $70), but not that much once you start adding SlingTV, HBO Now, Netflix, etc. etc.

- Get Dish, which is really cord rerouting, not cord cutting and probably not much cheaper than cable

-Straight-out steal content with Kodi or some alternative

-Steal BTN by plugging someone else's cable info in there

-Live in Mikefla's world, where you miss the entire issue of this thread, which is that you can't just "get BTNtogo" (or watch it, anyway) without having cable provider info to plug in

Am I missing anything? None of those sound like the dream of "a la carte viewing".
Btn will be available soon as a stand alone option. Just not sure when. Otherwise just about everything else is available. I don't miss cable at all.
