OT: Stock and Investment Talk

Your irrational hatred amuses me. Be honest, someone with a Telsa stole your girl. There has to be a backstory.
Was married way before Tesla actually put a car on the road. Here is more fun facts. Did you know Ford sold more F series in NorthAmerica than Tesla’s total global delivery YTD?

+1
I beat the market nicely in Q2, but got crushed by it in Q1. My 2 accounts that are over 20% YTD are the ones that I play around with the least. LOL!

Set a good strategy and stick with it. If you want to play around with a portion of your money, stick with those high quality stocks.
I'm the opposite, crushed it q1, but am down a couple % since early March.

Wow, 10Y is tanking. Down to 1.31% this morning. Thoughts?

Was watching CNBC and they were interviewing Verizon CEO on location in Idaho, and I'm seeing the Dow dropping in the corner and I knew they couldn't cut away but I knew somewhere was a headline driving down the Dow.

But bond market is predicting a deflationary spiral. I don't see how that makes sense when the price of everything is up so much, and wages look to be following in tow. Thus I think the bond market is getting it wrong.

Karen Finerman on CNBC fast money just recommended Amzn last night. The experts like the stocks to breakout before buying but I like to be in a lot earlier.
She owned it prior, she just added to her position, most of the heads on CNBC have owned Amazon.

But they do take the technical's into account. It has broken out, with no technical resistance above.

Where you get deflationary spiral from? The front end of the curve is unchanged. The yield curve is flattened.

Right. How could someone POSSIBLY think a stock with a 660-1 PE ratio be even slightly overvalued?
I always wonder about the listed P/E's, but if you look at the EPS over the last 4 qtrs, and that # is right around $3 per. Thus their P/E is about 220x.

P/E for 2021 at about 150x

Perhaps the fed (and CW) are right. This is a temp spike in inflation and it will start going down this fall. Also, next spring, you will likely have deflationary data due to the "reverse" base effect.

I get that some people don't like Tesla. What I'm having a harder time with are the folks who post over and over and over how much they don't like Tesla. I'm picturing really old guys with memory problems.

I think you hit the nail on the head! :)

One can think that Tesla is overvalued and not hate it. I'm having a hard time fathoming how some folks scoff at any failure to genuflect and chant "we are not worthy" every time Tesla is brought up.

Why do they keep on bringing up Tesla? I could see if it breaks out or dives to new low.
If people own it and news come out, I can see why it's brought up.

I just wish some people would talk about something beyond TSLA. Especially when they have no position in the stock.

On the contrary. I actually like Tesla’s products but not their prices. What I don’t like are the guys pumping their stock with weak analysis. You know who you are.

Do you buy or sell 10 year notes today?

Should be noted though that despite the 10 yr falling the last couple days, spec tech has not responded positively.

By the way, not a good time to own the major Chinese stocks! Good grief.

It’s the opposite - the constant Tesla pumping by the Tesla homers on this thread draws the ire of rational investors.

The valuations look so good.......
I know but they have been dropping for a while and now with China trying to regulate their internet companies changing the environment. Will our tech companies drop off drastically if the US and Europe are able to really regulate FB, GOOG, AMZN and MSFT?

Well we do try to regulate our big tech companies. But to this point we are nowhere near what China is doing.

Hit 1.26%, but has bounced a bit to 1.28%.

The thought is it needs to close the week at 1.35ish, which would be the 200 dma, otherwise it could test 1%.
Wish it was that simple. Treasury is a whole different game than equities.

Why is it plummeting? I haven't been paying too close attention.

10 year being does mean mortgage rates are going to likely start to show some improvements from a couple of weeks ago. If there are rate questions on a home purchase or refinance email me at gginn@1stconstitution.com

As far as the Tesla discussion, I notice more and more of them around Central Jersey, so I don't think missing their target is a big deal.
