OT: The Shine Is Off Coach Prime

For him I like it. If you don’t have the patience or skill to develop just raid others programs

Its not about "patience."
Why recruit a HS OL to sit and lift weights for two years when you can go get a developed transfer?
For months Prime has said he would only take a handful of HS kids.
This is what cfb is now
Bama, Clemson and those school rake in all the 4* and then many leave after sitting on the bench

"A night before a bunch of high school kids will sign to play for the Colorado Buffaloes, Deion Sanders landed another major transfer.

Samuel Okunlola, the fourth-ranked defensive lineman in the transfer portal according to 247 Sports, is headed to Boulder. Okunlola, a four-star prospect, was a CU target coming out of high school and after two productive years playing at Pittsburgh, he’ll represent the black and gold.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Okunlola is the second top-five defensive line transfer of this portal period to be heading to Boulder, joining Quency Wiggins."

If you have a robust NIL war chest then you can get all the transfer OL you want. Even so so OL are being offered decent NIL sums in the portal.

You only mentioned schools with large boosters. Do you see BC, Indiana, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, for example, doing this? They are all in a similar boat as RU where they use their funds to retain current players.

If people want to pursue these types of portal transfer then give to KTR so they can potentially do this in the future. Waiting on a mythical whale to save the day means nothing is done to help the cause.

He has 18 career tackles. Think Colorado media is high

Buffs get #1 OT in 24 class (# 13 overall).

It was reported he was going to Maryland but he signed with Buffs on Friday.
Deion told Stephen Smith that the kid plays nasty and wants to put opposing players on the grass and make them into "sprinkler heads."

I'm not sure how all teams handle NIL.
I like collective NIL as retention/portal lever more than as a recruiting HS kids carrot.
Freshman with big egos and entourages landing on campus with "bags of cash" could be a problem.
Players who look at teams like pirates ready to board a bullion ship would be toxic
I expect blow-back sooner than later once a few horror stories emerge

Sanders signed a few good high school talend, but signed less than 10.
He cleaned up in the portal, but Lane Kiffin pulled in what considered the best portal class of 2024 without all the fanfare given Colorado wit the #2 ranking.
Kiffin is a proven winner and probably will keep bringing in top portal talent, Deion if he wins will do the same, but a bad year in 2024 might take the hype out of Sander's Buff program and make Colorado a less desirable landing spot for talent looking for a new home.

I still can’t believe this thread title lasted here. Definitely poor taste and shameful
Please. Amazing the lengths people will go to to find imaginary racism.
Denver post racist

OMG the Grio is racist too

And for those like me, who didn’t even know what the Grio was:

“View the latest news and breaking Black news for U.S., world, entertainment, politics, and health for African Americans”

And we all know that when the "shine was on"- he was most likely the person who came up with the saying...now that it has come off- it is "racist"? lol

Can't believe plum is upset with it

"You always wish that you had a little more privacy," Sanders, who announced the end of his engagement to Tracy Edmonds Sunday, tells PEOPLE, "but the same thing that makes you shine will show your blemishes"

Haters like you always be hating!! 😘😘😘

The more you respond the more relevant you keep this thread. So go sit in the corner if you want it to go away. 🤣🤣🤣

He’s heading into year two, having inherited a 1-11 team and improved by three wins last year

If he was on The Banks, we would’ve already built him a statue and anointed him the savior

Until the first losing season.

I said it last year as well, he's just oblivious to the Oline. His son will be running for his life again. One transfer from UTEP and counting on one freshman recruit is not enough. There's no depth, as he ran everyone off and brought in crappola last year as well.

some of the kids he brought in had some good "potential" on the OL but it certainly looks like no one is really being coached under Prime.

Whatever we think of Dion Sanders, the man knows how to get attention and use that to make the players he recruits feel they'll be getting peoples attention as well, if they go and play for him.
Whether Sanders is a good coach is another issue, he just makes those he goes after believe he is and their talents will shine under his guidance

I'm not casting stones, just posting stuff as it comes up on X.
Would love to see Deion Sanders succeed at Colorado.

Prime was saying out loud last year that he needed a new line. 54 sacks is like RU in 2010.
The dif is that its HC's kid getting killed lol

Seems from what that clip you posted indicated is that Savion was going to go from a 1 to a depth part of the OL. Always good to have depth, but can understand a young man feeling displaced and wanting to move on. It happens everywhere, even at Rutgers.

Difficult to build a sound OL without continuity of working together in sync.

Time to dust this one off and restart the conversation since it will be in the national spotlight again.

By all accounts, Deion is facing more scrutiny this year from the media and not liking it.

"Last week, the Colorado Buffaloes coach went viral after he refused to answer questions from certain reporters, expressing displeasure over their coverage of his program. He even declined to engage with a CBS Denver reporter he claimed to "have love for" due to dissatisfaction with where CBS Sports ranked him in a preseason coach ranking."

Can just imagine how bad it will get if the OL issues are not resolved or more stories about the culture start leaking out.

Should make for some interesting media fodder.
