Has anyone gone yet to the US Open this week?

Was thinking about checking it out tonight after work...
how early can you get into the grounds for evening session?

Went on Monday to day session and going again for this Sunday's night session. It's a great time and have gone for 11 of the last 12 years (I think?). Be advised food and drink is plentiful but pricey of course. If you've never gone, I'd recommend checking it out even if you just a casual sports fan.

Believe that gates for night session usually open around 6 PM. I'd advise to get there early in case any of the day session matches are still going on. That way you can check out a match before walking into Ashe. Ask away if you have more questions.

If you do go tonight, be sure to stick around for Del Potro's match, which is second on Ashe. His forehand is something to experience in person.

Thanks for the info.... last time I went was almost 20 years ago. I'm planning to drive in, is that foolish? Thinking traffic will be shitty crossing the bridges. So you have to wait outside of the gates of the grounds until 6pm?

I did day and night sessions on Monday, a lot of new outer courts with more seating. Saw the opening of the upgraded Ashe Satdium Monday night. Phil Collins provided the pre-match entertainment. I love going day 1. Cant count how many times i've gone. First day, luxury box, two finals...always a great time.

The last time I went to US Open was in 2001. In the evening I went to the top of the WTC to see the view of NY/NJ at night. It cost $13.50. A week later the towers were gone. I still have the stub from that visit. I will always hold on to it.

I went for all of the first 3 days. Me and my brother go every year. I highly recommend getting a day pass. You can catch so much tennis, and still get to see the stars at the practice courts much closer than you can at Ashe.

The old grandstand is my favorite spot to watch late afternoon matches

Thanks you all, had a great time last night at the US Open.
Found tickets on stubhub for $17 for the nose bleeds, luckily ran into my brother there by chance and got to sit with them for a bit in the 100 section which was pretty NICE.

Parking is steep, $23 by citifield. Food and Drinks even steeper.
$8 miller light can or bottle.

I go every year . I am not a huge tennis fan , but I like it enough to go to the open, day session . It's a good time . We get nosebleed seats at Ashe and usually sit there for a match and walk around to the outter courts.
Food and drink is good , obvious pro sporting event prices. Lots of people get a grounds pass and I think just are there to hang out and don't even care for the tennis .
Always Long Island railroad . I took a vow years ago to never drive to Shea or the Open and I stick to it .
