Got my first dose on Wednesday absolutely no symptoms just soreness at the injection site; Received Moderna can't wait soon enough for the second dose; lets hope NJ can step up the speed with which they can give out the vaccines as there are plenty here but of course NJ was not prepared to give out the vaccine like they should have been since they had plenty of time to prepare

I got the moderna last night. Sore injection site and a metallic taste for a little. But no issues otherwise
That's when people under 65 who have no underlying health conditions can expect it here, except for hospital workers and first responders.
Where do you live? Not in the US, right. The vaccine will be available to the general public in April IMO. I am 42 with just HBP and my doctor thought March.
That won't happen. That was the projection which included 20 million by the end of 2020. We currently around 6 million a week into the new year.

Serious question if you get vaccinated why do you still have to wear a mask? Makes zero sense in my opinion. I’m not anti vaccine either.
March/April sounds about right. They are starting to move through the groups quickly.
I'm more concerned with how it will interact with my scotch regimen, which has effectively kept me Covid-free since March.
In all seriousness, development of this vaccine has been completely different from others in that both the public and private sectors have funneled time, money and effort into providing it. Usually these things meander along with only the private sector working on it, and the public sector at times acting more like a detriment than a resource.
I just got mine. Absolutely no side effects. GO PENN STATE!!!!!!

Congratulations and good luck. Everybody remember, you don't get immediately immunized just after the shot. It takes weeks or months for the effectiveness to build in your body. Be vigilant even after the shots are given.

Yes I actually know 2 people who got Covid after receiving the first dose so you are 100% correct!! We will be wearing masks for a long time

So now it’s New Jersey wasn’t prepared ? Seems only a short while ago many on this board were quick to defend the NY and NJ gov’s and their outstanding response to the pandemic. If it wasn’t such a sad story it would be funny . The ineptness of many in positions of leadership still taking photo sessions to enhance their position amongst the voting public.
Because a vaccine isn’t a force field around your nostrils. You can still get Covid and it can harbor inside you as your immune system fights it off but just think of it from a physical sense. You breathe it in at the supermarket, then breathe it out at the movie theater later that night onto someone.
that’s almost like saying, I took a shower this morning, why should I wash my hands today after I go to the bathroom?
People will still be required to wear masks for years regardless of immunization for covid19.
Why do people who got infected and are all better have to take the vaccine? They should already have the antibodies, no?
And vaccines don’t last either and that will be the next issue .
I'm a physical therapist and going for my first dose today.
Although this got approved quickly, they did start doing some research after SARS in 2009, so development has been in the works for a little while.
I don't believe they did research on pregnant women or those with auto immune disorders, so they can't project how it could potentially affect that population.
We will have to wear masks for a while because it takes a while to build up immunity (hence 2 doses), and although it is 95% effective, it is not 100% effective.
That of course is the great unknown are we going to have to get the vaccine every year like the flu most likely
If I’m betting on it I would go with the EVERY year shot in the hope that it eventually it becomes a mute issue.
