The pertinent question there is how long ago were they infected.
I know 4 people that were diagnosed in April . They tested positive for antibodies a couple times . By November and December 2020 none of them tested positive any longer

I got my first dose (Moderna) 9 days ago. I felt a little shoulder soreness with raising my arm for 2 days and that's it! Looking forward to the next shot in a few weeks!

p.s. I'm a physical therapist working for a hospital system so I had early access.

People have been saying that for the past few weeks. But nothing so far.

There are certain states doing very poorly with their distribution process, it seems, which is mind-boggling IMHO. That being said as soon as it's available for me, I'll take it, Dr's orders anyway lol!

I can't wait to get it!

There is more to it than antibodies. Current research shows natural immunity lasts for at least 8 months, and likely should last field years,

If you’ve got the virus within the last 6 months, and are on the younger side, you should go to the end of the vaccine line imo.

Don’t mean to make it political, but looks like vaccinations will speed up soon. Biden says he won’t hold any reserves for second dose. They will start giving out vaccines as they come. I’m hopeful that I can get it soon and start living life normally. Tired of being in the house all day.

Getting my first dose this coming Monday and I can’t wait.

I'm all for the vaccine's. but you can't wait for the injection site soreness and possible side effects? That's a little like hitting yourself over the head with a 2X4 because it feels so good when you stop.

My understanding is that without the second dose you lose a not insignificant amount of the benefit. Not so sure that's a good idea.

Kudos to the ones that have received the first dose of vaccine..
I believe two will be given to obtain full protection ( both vaccine suppliers)
As for every year, I believe that will be the case because of new strains being found
and though vaccine taken before should keep one safe, the yearly one will be considered a booster shot in the better safe than sorry mode.

It’s not conclusive and presents some risk while reducing other risk by providing vaccinations to more people more quickly. It depends on the sequencing with supply. Vaccinate as many people in group one as quickly as possible and do second doses with future supply. I don’t know if it’s possible and how the vaccines will be rolled out.

I already know of a few people who have passed on it. My wife and some of her co workers who work for a group of surgeons said no thanks. Gonna be really hard to gat a large chunk of the country to have someone put a needle in their arm.

I think there will be a greater willingness to get vaccinated 3 months from now, when you have 30-40 million "guinea pigs" to show how bad (or not) the side effects are.

Well you can't get the second dose. Until after you get the first dose. Twaddle!!!

Another dumb question, but if you've already gotten it and are exposed, are you still able to pass it on to someone even though you won't get sick??

I have no idea how viruses work.

J&J one dose coming soon....

Well that is absolutely insane. Sad that there are morons out there who will choose not to be vaccinated when given the opportunity.

So my wife is a moron ? I have no plans on getting it at this point either. My neighbors , as of a few weeks ago , also said no. Some of my co workers feel the same way. A lot of us are waiting to see what happens. Something wrong with that ? Morons ? My ass .

That won't happen. That was the projection which included 20 million by the end of 2020. We currently around 6 million a week into the new year.
No. That was this week. They are catching up quick. My neighbor across the street went today and he is a PT. They are starting to bang these out. They will be caught up by the end of the month according to my friends that work in hospitals and have some knowledge on it.

60 % of healthcare workers are "Just say No." nationally at this time.

States are good and States are bad. It isn't rocket science to figure our which is which.

NYS is about to fine healthcare systems 100,000 if certain goals aren't met and fine 2,000 a day for late daily reporting.

Meanwhile the Presbyterian Hospital system (private in and around NYC) has given 99 % of their currently allocated doses of vaccine. The NYC Health and Hospital (NYC/DeBlow run.) is at 31 %.

I would say you or your wife aren’t morons . Certainly your choice to not get the vaccine . I will say though that people like you and your wife are not helping society get to herd immunity . That you choose not to get the vaccine, you and wife have no right to complain about life not being back to normal .

There has already been almost 20mil people vaccinated so far. What are you waiting for, if people start growing horns out of their heads?

At this point, they aren't worth the risk. No real knowledge of how long they last, how long term side effects and birth defects might happen and the list goes on and on. Did you know they both had to be stopped, and reconfigured, started again, and never went to animal trials? You in essence, are the animals. No thank you, put me in the column of morons.

Well this being America I do have the right to complain. Most people are surviving this with out a shot as we will . So why get it ? keep believing the media and the fearmongering.

Caught up to the 20 million that was supposed to be done by 12/31 or 50 million+ they projected by the end of January?

Good, it will accelerate the timeline to the regular folks.

Then stay home and we’ll go out.

From what I read, you would still get the second shot, they just won’t hold anything in storage since they are confident they will be able to keep up the supplies. He plans to do that by enacting the Defense Production Act to speed up production.

Has anyone else in NJ signed up for the vaccine on the state Covid vaccine website? Apparently there was some delays initially, but I was able to sign up quickly. I believe it may be necessary in order travel on a plane or cruise. Maybe to attend a football or basketball game?
