The state will not allow that until we have 80% percent vaccinated and herd immunity of the same . This is Phil we are discussing. Now players and family and perhaps some students yes but anything more than 5 k I sincerely have my doubts. It’s not about thinking positive it’s thinking how politicians and school officials think. You actually believe Holloway is going to risk this ? Maybe but probably not until we have 3/4 of the country done. And hospitals don’t have COVID patients. You are living in fantasy land.
Most of the schools and colleges in the south are conducting in classroom teaching. Holloway has no backbone and is wrapped up in his own world.
Yes I am aware of that since we have family attending those schools but they for the most part have done so through most of this pandemic including having some fans at games.
Perhaps it helps but it is NOT the lack of vaccine ( as they have held back) it is in the DELIVERY system to the public. A lack of qualified people to man the vaccine sites. I said there is only one logical way the other day and that is using the Guard -Reserve medical units. Establish sites at military bases .That can be done with the federal government overseeing the state in the administering of the COVID 19 vaccines . As Phil,once claimed “ it’s above my pay grade”. Phil you sure as hell are proving that to be true.

It is the same in Arizona no appointments available, no vaccine, not enough medical personnel able to vaccinate John Q Public. On a brighter note : the CCP built a hospital in 5 days . It is capable of handling 1500 person Covid 19 patients. They’ll probably build 50 over the next 2 months . Great job China🖕

Save your $$$$ . ..I don’t need your $$$$... you may need it in a year. You are are going to be very upset when the stadium is not more than 5k fans. There is no plan or infrastructure set up yet in NJ and that is from Phil himself . You do realize there will still be Covid 19 hospitalized patients and if so then the state and Holloway will limit fans. The original thought was most of the public would be vaccinated by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2021. It certainly appears they are going to be right. Maybe and it’s a big maybe by the end of October we can have your almost full stadium.
Short answer is yes, as a precaution; odds are very high vaccinated people will infected far less than unvaccinated people and should also be less infectious when infected, but I think masks will still be required until we get to 60-70% vaccinated and transmission rates get to near zero, probably sometime this summer, although rates should drop significantly by about March/April with a decent % vaccinated. I’m not and have never been a fan of drugs . I have witnessed too many addicted and alcoholics . Career killer and destroys too many households . Just like on the alcoholic thread . When you see people espousing the benefits of over indulgence nightly there are many who really need help.
This is completely incorrect. There is no indication, yet, that any of the new variants will be an issue for at least the mRNA vaccines. At some point antigenic drift of the virus may allow viral "escape" from the vaccine, but given that SARS-CoV-2 mutates at about 1/3 the rate of influenza, this is not expected for at least 2-3 years. We covered this in the main COVID thread and yet you still bring it up here.

Sorry you and other scientists can not say emphatically we should not worry. It is reasonably possible as the months go by another variant will come about more viral and cause more severe effects even after someone has received a vaccine. You have said it won’t be difficult to develop other vaccines to combat mutations from Covid19. I am confident that yes they can and will but if it takes as long as this current fiasco we will be in trouble.
Fans? Sure maybe 5k at start and maybe 25 by end of October. And you will be wearing a mask if you wish to attend.
Please, learn to read. You said that with the Brazil mutation we need to upgrade the vaccines. That's a definitive statement. I then said you're wrong, which you are, as we don't need upgraded vaccines yet, but then said we might in the future, probably in 2-3 years, but did not "emphatically" say it couldn't be sooner, as that depends on how this virus evolves, which is clearly an unknown.
My 87 soon to be 88 year old parents are scheduled for the vaccine at the end of January. Their medical group has scheduled it.
I’m saying any mutation can be worse and perhaps require a more effective change to it. You have claimed as also some others have that it would be fairly quick and easy. Is that true ? Did you not report that information when the UK strain was discovered? As for my reading it is amazing how much you and others attack someone’s reading comprehension as though you are so above the rest. If I’m betting we will by next fall need changes made.

Thanks: Today’s NJ.com tells you exactly what the next issue is going to be as I said in the above yesterday. Not enough qualified people to administer the vaccine to the masses. Back in ancient times ( 1960’s) when the polio vaccine became available less educated people ( by today’s standards) somehow managed to give out those millions of sugar cubes. They will eventually activate the military in order to alleviate the shortage. If they don’t then this will get worse.
No chance Bob. AMERICAN public will say no more. By the way turn off the news and go for a good walk. It does wonders for the body and soul. Just finished my 3 miles.
