Yes they tried all yesterday since they are on remote teaching from home . And son also works In the Transportation system for the schools. Several other teachers got appointments but the entire system is dysfunctional.

I heard appointments at the shoprite are like weeks out

Until there is much greater supply of vaccine those getting it early will be the fortunate ones. Everyone else will wait.

Logistics of injecting larger numbers of people also remains a problem. Each county in FL has their own reservation system, Eventbrite, lottery, etc. A single reservation system for the state would have worked much more efficiently imo.

Weeks is correct. For months several people here said we would be seeing a significant uptick in distribution of the vaccines. The vaccine is not the problem. The problem is people don’t know squat about distributing it in mass. We need people to administer and places . 7 days per week around the clock . Do you think Phil and Judy can figure it out by themselves ? In the military during shot time we did thousands weekly . The military is more than capable to supply medical staff to administer the vaccines. How about the old Fort Monmouth facility, Ft. Dix,Maguire . It’s not that difficult just use some common sense Murphy.

The shop rite sites only have a phone number instead of website to sign up. Good luck with getting thru.

My wife is a healthcare worker and I got her in through the website. The problem is that it only searches within a 10 mile radius of any zipcode. I had to plug in the zip code of twenty different Shoprites before I found one with availability.

The site has been closed since around 10 am this morning . From what I know only 28 shop rites were going to be available at the start . For example 4 or 5 in Middlesex County. Most of them are more than likely corporate (Wakefern ) stores the other stores are owned by 50 various owners in the co op. Need as many as they can that have RX and I believe they all do. Probably another 100 in state . State should set up vaccination modules at them and around . I was also expecting CVS and Walgreens to be a part of the plan but as usual they are earmarked for care facilities . Just going to be more confusion, more disinformation , more head shaking. This will be a political statement: politicians from top to bottom don’t care . As long as they , their families and social group is taken care of then screw the tax payers “ Let them enjoy the crumbs we feed them. “

Just received a return call from the township stating that if you are registered you will receive an email or phone call from the state telling you Date , Time and location as the state is trying to get you to a place close to where you live. But I will at least give this women a thank you for least contacting us after we left a voicemail. She said it’s been very hectic and confusing and also stated uncertainty and misinformation.

I have more concern about the Devils winning tonight than ..........what were we talking about ?

My only vaccine concern is for my party girl 90yo mamma...she wants to visit and stupid Rhode Island is acting ALL RETARDED when it comes to healthy elderly (yes I mean RETARDED, in the most pejorative sense)

No wife and I actually feel this way as well. What it would do is allow us to see more of our family. Protect ourselves from others who may be spreaders and hopefully give others the impetus to get the vaccine when it becomes available to them. Other than that stay on our schedule of eat right, exercise, 8 hours of sleep , and only shop when we have to , avoid crowds and keep watching the clown circus all around the USA.

Agreed...my life (other than wearing an annoying face covering) has not really changed so I’m fine on waiting as long as necessary.

I'm not freaking out about it but am looking forward to it. It will be a relief to get it over with. My life hasn't changed much either, still going to work, playing sports, etc. My main concern is probably the virus leaving scar tissue on my lungs, causing problems later in life.

It’s good people don’t know about it yet. if they all rush to get the shots, the systems would be overloaded. My location gets 300 vaccines a week when there are thousands waiting. There’s a supply problem.

CVS and Walgreen were suppose to take care of all LTC and nursing homes patients from a federal contract, I believe many of the vaccines were held up in the LTC systems according to Phil Murphy who was on CNBC yesterday explaining it. I believe the hospitals that got their allocation use it as quickly as possible since my sister got her shot a couple of weeks ago and she works at a hospital but not with patients. However, there are shots that are allocated to medical personnel but they don’t want to take it.

My other sister is scared and doesn’t want to get a shot but I want it as soon as possible. Going have to tell her son to tell her she can’t visit her grandkids unless she gets the shot.

they are opening places but like I said in NY when you go for an appointment the site is inoperable or they say no vaccines yet--as for NYC they seem to be giving shots but mostly city workers--the good news is that over the last 7 days the dosage distributed natinowide is up to 29.3mill from 17 mill alhough only 10.2 mill innoculated

My experience yesterday and today with Shop Rite is a busy signal on the phone and a message on their website saying no appointments are being given at this time.

Saw this posted in a nnj.com article, breaks down the numbers.

“About 650,000 doses were distributed to New Jersey by the second week of January. Of that, 288,000 doses have been given and 215,000 have been set aside for nursing homes. That leaves roughly 150,000 doses until the next weekly shipment from the federal government.”

Im sure all of those 150k doses are “sold out” at this point via scheduled appointments over the next week or so. Need much more of a supply and we’ll be able to add more daily appointments.

Mercer County web site is next to useless; they direct you to the state site, town sites, or to the private pharmacies that are set up to distribute vaccines (which are no longer accepting appointments because that's how full they are). My town site says to contact the state or county. Typical government circle jerk.
On Monday the state was burdened by a slow rollout for the 1A and 1B people. When the President told the CDC to change the eligibility to everyone over 65, that created a tsunami of demand in NJ and I personally believe there will be so much noise that the Governor will be forced to go to the Florida system he mocks and just tell the providers that it is first come, first served.

the president t "told" the CDC??? where did you get that BS from?

That’s the point people should be hesitant since it is a new vaccine but by the same token people should realize the chances of dying from the vaccine is less than contracting the virus itself. This has been this way since the 1960’s . People spread misinformation and don’t qualify the facts as they actually are. If these same folks lived in China or Russia and said,” I’m not taking that shot”. I guarantee that within minutes that shot would be in their system.
It’s good people don’t know about it yet. if they all rush to get the shots, the systems would be overloaded. My location gets 300 vaccines a week when there are thousands waiting. There’s a supply problem.
People are rushing to get the vaccine if not we wouldn’t have a problem getting an appointment. The supply is not the issue it’s in the district phase.

NY Times tracker of vaccine rollout, including stats for each state on doses received by each state and doses administered, showing ~30MM doses distributed to the States and ~11.1MM doses given (3.4% of the US has gotten a shot and that number is 3.5% in NY and 3.0% in NJ). We and most other countries are way behind Israel, which is up to ~20% vaccinated already - they are a small, densely populated country and they have a superb public health program with a high degree of digital compliance.

Our patchwork healthcare system, lack of Federal ownership of the overall program (including mixed messaging on priorities and lack of funding for the states) especially at the start when we got ~3MM vaccinated vs. the ~20MM OWS promised (prompting General Perna to admit they failed) and byzantine state systems have all conspired to slow our rollout down. Hopefully we can catch up.

Love how people compare our National results to that of ****ing Israel...a country the size of NJ with a population less than that of the Houston metro area...of course it is easy to manage that rollout than a country or 328M...Jesus Elizabeth Christ!

we are, in essence, 50 separate countries...with 50 emperors trying to outdo the other 49...

if only we all elected someone to lead the country and have a federal plan..... we could call that person our president.
