Hmmm. Who?

Why are you dealing in hypotheticals? I'm confused.
I would love to see basketball fixed and I believe the way to do it is to get the right person here for the job. All the other stuff everyone is speaking of doesn't matter to me. We need a staff here that can get the job done. Hopefully the administration can provide additional financial assistance to make the staffs job easier.
Because $ doesn't grow on trees. Where does the $ come for a buyout? Does it influence what we pay the next coach?
It would cost more to remove Jordan after next season

Keeping him doesn't save Rutgers money was my pointI believe we are losing money long term by not correcting this issue.

Which is why we spent $ on a coach...but it didn't work.
Keep in mind I am probably the most and earliest anti Jordan guy there is. I just want to make sure we aren't making a big mistake worse. 1 thing to endure 2 more years...another to endure 6 more because we hired a coach on the cheap.
Can someone subjectively tier the best 5 coaches in college basketball and then the next best 5? I want to see them type the list, then fill in about 90 more names. After that, start looking at the best of thhe names you haven't written down yet. There's your next coaching pool without physical progress in facilities.
I just can't take the awful outcomes anymore. A different coach has got to be able to do a better job. Give me Rice, give me FHJ, give me Waters, give me Wenzel, give me Bannon.
Anything but these Littlepage years all over again.
Dave White is just a hater. Still bitter over FHJ's firing.
you are completely wrong
You are still half right cyrock3.Dave White is just a hater. Still bitter over FHJ's firing.
You win, cyrock, because you are the poster to get me back to Rivals. Even for one post. And it's the most easily refuted post ever:

Then why bother defending Hill in your recent OTB post?
Probably just got caught up in the moment there and then reverted to your mean.

No disrespect bac but when I read posts like this I cringe. What you remember as the highlights were at best mediocrity. What were my highlights in the early '80's were mediocrity to the fans from the ''70's. It's all sucked for so long that we cling to these random wins that are highlights to us but from afar just random points on a pitiful existence of a program.listen I was the president of the Fred Hill haters club on this board. He ruined the RAC and he torpedoed the interest in this program BUT he overall recruited better than Eddie and at least his program pulled off a few unexpected wins....Eddie has won and is 0-26 vs the top 250 ever since. As bad as Hill was, Jordan is worse. And its painful because Fred was just a jerk and Eddie is a loyal son and nice guy.
big difference between a high school coach and a mid major coach.I am being a realist/negatoid.......if Freeman is out of the program and Lewis we know is gone I can't think our prospect for next year will be a lot better than this year. Let's be honest...there would be a decent chance we lose key players. Marry that and not having $ on a coach. If $ was a big issue we might have to fire Jordan and try the needle in the haystack and go after a HS coach or a mid major.
The Freeman news is a huge blow to the program and could be the straw that broke the camel's back. Let's hope this is minor. Do we ever know why Freeman missed the 1st half of our season opener?
big difference between a high school coach and a mid major coach.
Even if we had a ton of money, we would be hiring a mid major coach
the big similarity is in the probability of success...both pretty low. I hope i am underestimating the $ available to hire a coach if Jordan goes. I wouldn't be shocked though if firing Jordan wasn't even an option (based on finances) on the table. Do we know if hobbs used all his political capital firing Flood?
I think if Eddie comes back we need a new assistant coach who knows NJ really well. We should go after Kevin Boyle as an assistant and give him enough money to get him to RU. He should be told there is a very good chance he could become our next head coach. What do we have to lose? He knows the NJ coaches and he could possibly bring us at least one player from Monteverde. He knows Hobbs very well so I would think Hobbs has him possibly on his mind. I would just like to see RU improve in basketball and hopefully make the NCAA sometime in the near future. I am getting older every day and have been a loyal follower since 1971. Hopefully we can make the NCAA again at some time during my remaining lifetime.

Freddie could recruit, he just couldn't coach or keep them. Now you're saying FHJ overall out recruited Eddie. Fine. But when Eddies recruiting is brought up the first thing you do is cite Eddie's transfers. Frankly, FHJ's list is too long to type.
