Is that a reference to Patrick Swayze in Ghost?Ditto
He was clearly affected last night and stayed mostly in a passing/facilitating role. The three pointers he took were way off, and there was another wide open one he passed up. He did make his two free throws at least. The shoulder is still bothering Paul imho.
You would be correct on Paul ( though rubbing his left shoulder) was a smiling happy jokester making fun of Pike In the post game presser. I said two days ago as long as it was not his shooting side he would grind it out and probably use some sort of brace.Evidently he did and fortunately he appears to be ok both mentally and physically . If Paul is needed to score in a game I think he’ll also up his point totals . He is doing so many other good things…things which get overlooked like steals, assists , rebounds and just be the glue of this squad …Paul’s team .The shoulder is still bothering Paul imho.
I did something similar 2 years ago. Started noticing it while sleeping on my right side. Same problems with extension and lifting things. It hurts when I throw in softball but it's not unbearable. Just something you have to deal with. Hopefully Paul can play through it.Posted this elsewhere
Paul might have a slight rotor cuff tear
Would need an MRI to diagnose
I fell hard on my shoulder skiing last year
The shoulder did not hurt a lot unless my arm was raised up, or put it behind me towards my back, basically if I moved it a lot and held my arm out in extreme positions
Could explain why he feels like he can play, then aggravates it when moving arms in extended positions
Of course that's possible, but I can't imagine he wouldn't have had an MRI to diagnose the shoulder, given the injury - although he may have and we'll just never know (like Vedral's hand surgery with 6 screws in it or Brown's foot injury).Posted this elsewhere

I still can feel it a bit, and it had been about 10 monthsI did something similar 2 years ago. Started noticing it while sleeping on my right side. Same problems with extension and lifting things. But that's for folks not playing sports with collisions, like Paul and like my example above with playing keeper in soccer. If one has a partially torn rotator cuff, one could rest it for 10 years and the tear won't get "fixed" - it can only get fixed through surgery, although it can get better (with regard to reduced pain and improved strength and motion) through physical therapy, steroid injections and the like. But it's really hard for it to get better at all if one is still playing a contact sport and having collisions.I still can feel it a bit, and it had been about 10 months
There is little risk of falling and hurting the same spot, according to the doctor, but you have to give the shoulder a long period of rest to have the pain go away without surgery, surgery would put you out of commission for months
That said, I hope it is not that injury
If they continue to use ice / heat / tens stimulator / strengthening exercise for the surrounding shoulder muscle groupings and being it is his left shoulder he should be ok. Be happy it is not his shooting arm. Paul should be able to continue to play with a tear and especially a partial one.Posted this elsewhere

Nothing scheduled yet, so probably not until Temple postgame. When do we next hear from Pike, will there be a presser before the Temple game?
@Richard Schnyderite
Sorry about your rotator cuff injury but be realistic you did not have to dive for the ball at 50. You jocks will never learn😜Of course that's possible, but I can't imagine he wouldn't have had an MRI to diagnose the shoulder, given the injury - although he may have and we'll just never know (like Vedral's hand surgery with 6 screws in it or Brown's foot injury).
For what it's worth, I had a full rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder from diving to make a save in soccer, about 10 years ago and had successful surgery/rehab to fix it (and it's still 100% good). Then I suffered a partial (~50%) tear in my left rotator cuff from a collision in soccer on a corner kick about 2.5 years ago and I could barely lift my arm above my head for about a week, but I went back to playing after 2 weeks, despite my doc saying it wouldn't take much of a collision to go back to where it was (or worse) and that happened a month or so after the initial injury and I was back to square one and I haven't played since. The doc said that if I want to go back to playing keeper in soccer that I would need surgery.
Paul is barely 20 and I'm 60, so I would imagine he could play with a partial tear, but it could be one of those injuries that keeps knocking him out for a few days every time he has a collision, like we saw yesterday from a not-so-violent collision. If he actually has a partial rotator cuff tear, my fear is he really needs the surgery to play a contact sport at a high level, which requires at least 3 months of rehab/recovery before playing again - sure he could try to gut it out with such an injury, but that could be a difficult journey for him and the team. Let's hope the injury is something else, which can heal faster.
I did if I wanted to make the save, lol...Sorry about your rotator cuff injury but be realistic you did not have to dive for the ball at 50. You jocks will never learn😜
My doctor said a few interesting thingsPartials will heal by themselves in most instances. Paul is a young strong “ limox” Don’t forget it looks as though he did quite a bit of bulking up in the upper body . Shoulders Arms , Lats … he could have done it by weight lifting.
If he has to have rotator cuff surgery you will be looking at a minimum of probably 2 months. Paul is going to do all he can to play with some pain . A shot of Euflexa or another type Hyaluronic Acid or Orthovisc should enable him to avoid surgery . It may also only require minimal non invasive arthroscopic repair which can have him back within perhaps 4-6 weeks.I’m more concerned with Caleb and his expected return. My doctor said a few interesting things
The tear does not heal, it is not that type of injury that mends
You do get better over time, pain wise . Surgery for most is when the patient is in a lot of pain now and waiting is not a good option
he compared the cuff to a suspension bridge, you can cut a cable but there are plenty others holding things up
a lot of people get cuff tears that the doctor can see on a MRI, and the patient never went to a doctor, it shows up when
Looking at a MRI later on
Patient probably rode out discomfort not knowing
they had that injury
