I know I am very late to the game here, but just getting around to booking hotels. I don't find anything.

Closest I see is Days Inn Lewisburg about an hour away. i still think it is worth hotel stay after such a long day. Anyone staying here or have better options?

Thanks

I've been looking since July and haven't found anything better. My plan is to wait until the week of and see if I can find a cancellation. If not, its either Lewisberg or drive all the way back to NJ that night. The adrenaline of a big win should make it tolerable.

Staying at a Best Western in Lewisburg on way back - good reviews....

I would stay in Lewisburg if I were you. An 8pm kick-off will end at Mid-night, then everyone will leave at the same time, it is a disaster getting out of the parking lot and the traffic will be awful.

Contact Joe Susan for a discount. Potential Bucknell-to-Rutgers transfer Joe Schiano plays at Bucknell.

Looks like lots of rooms available for their game this week. But
Where are people parking/tailgating?

You may be a day late asking about parking.

General Parking is $15 if bought in advance. This gets you into any of the Yellow Lots on the Penn State Parking Map. Parking is plentiful - they do not restrict the # of passes sold. Where you park is somewhat dependent on what time you get there.I believe you needed to order by yesterday to have them mail you a pass (edit: you may still order but will have to pay $15 for express mail). You can call and see if they still will still do so but if not its $40 day of game.

The link is to the parking map. If you know how you are getting in you can pretty much guess which lot you will be in.. Lot 12 is the closest to the stadium and campus but will fill up early. I parked there once and it had a "Blue Lot" feel to it - young alumni and rowdy. May not be the best spot. You need to come in from the west on Park Ave to get there. Otherwise you will likely be in lot 20 to 26 which are the first lots coming iin from Rt 80.

Thanks. Would like to be with the most RU fans, even if it is a further walk.

It would be nice if we found a way to coordinate parking near each other. Though I signed up for the Rutgers Alumni Tailgate from 5-7. Maybe find parking near there - i believe it is at the arena?

Never been there and don't ever plan on going but why in the world don't they build more hotels by Happy Valley. Is it really that much east bumbleF

My sister went to Bucknell (in Lewisburg) awesome little city and very easy to get to State Penn from there

I stayed at the super eight at the Danville exit off I80 a few years back. It's about an hour from State College. There are several other inexpensive hotels at the same exit.

I found this guy on Craigslist, said he has some room in the basement on his pull out sofa. If you want I could ask him if there is room for another, let me know

We are definitiely in the Express Mail (less than 10 days) phase for Parking Passes. I just bought mine for $30. (Oh, well, would have been $17.25 yesterday...)

I mean that town has like 40k people, so when students are there it's a pretty close split between residents and students. The hotels that are there now make most of their money on about 4-10 weekends a year:

1. Move in day
2. Graduation
3. Artsfest
4-10. 7 home games a year.

Thats about it. so while the economy could support another couple hotels during those times, it's fairly bare the rest of the year except for whatever conferences are being held there. This isn't some huge metropolis.

Stayed in Danville before a TTFP game a few years ago. The location is good with regards to State College. The motel we stayed at allowed dogs and somewhere in the Danville area there was a dog show that weekend. The hallways and rooms were filled by dog breeders and show people and their charges, straight out of Central Casting. Lots of barking and scratching at doors and dogs on elevators. You can't make this stuff up. The place was more like a kennel.

The lots not colored yellow are all reserved. Some of them are actually reserved spots not just reserved lots. Take a look at all the numbered spots inn these lots - big fundraiser through donations.

I will eventually this weekend be canceling a reservation at the Holiday Inn Express in New Columbia/Lewisburg and also probably the Best Western in Lock Haven. I can certainly let someone know when I am canceling so they can jump on either if anyone wants.

if you could post on this thread when you do that would be great!

Looks like Yellow lot 21 (or 20/23) is closest to the R Game Day event (5-7 pm) at the Snider Agricultural Arena. Says it's an outdoor space near the stadium entrance. Wife has ADA placard, but it looks like ADA parking is way on the other side of the stadium (pretty far away from the R Game Day event). Hope the weather is good!

Anyone know when the lots open? Are we better off parking in Lots 22 or 26 to be closer to Rt 80 after the game (traffic-wise)? We are sitting on row 95 of Section NJU - looks like a long walk - isn't that the last (top) row of the stadium - that's what you get for the cheap ($100) seats......

I will be get there around 2pm (assuming it will take 4 hours) expected Lot 22

Recommend Lots 22/26 for quicker departure? I hear it takes awhile to get back to Rt 80 eastbound after a game....

Lots open at 8 am. I highly suggest you use the ADA lots. They are some of the easiest to get in an out of. They also have a shuttle that will drop you off right at the stadium. I also believe they will drop you off at any of the gates.

Lot 21/23 will fill up early. Lot 22 and 26 and all the lots on that side is on a hill. If you have trouble walking it could be a tough hike to the ag arena and stadium. They are also ag fields so not the smoothest terrain.

The further out the better. Never parked there to tell you how well they empty out.

Is this childish stuff needed? You have a poster trying to help people out and you get these kids of responses. It might have been funny the first time you posted it but it getting old. Don't you have anything original?
