Regarding Sanders or any number of elite players at any and all schools....they all do the same things that make certain fans cringe.....however, it is literally impossible in this day and age to win even at an NIT level, without some sort of fringe/weed/criminal past on your roster. It's just not promoted by ESPN or highlighted, but it's right in front of your eyes and ears, but we all ignore it as if we don't see it.....
I say that because I'm not accepting it as the new normal, but there are very few Duke/Stanford/Princeton Northwestern rosters that have mostly high IQ, future Wall Street types on their rosters and even those kids aren't squeaky clean, despite the media telling you otherwise. A quick twitter, instagram, facebook search of any roster of Power 5 kids would cement this status as truth, but sometimes the closer you get to the actual process, the faster you may want to back away....
We are in complete denial if we are not aware or that a school isn't aware of what kids/athletes do.....but you either win games or you don't....you sell tickets or you don't......you get ratings for TV or you don't...........it's a bottom line business and deals are made with the devil at every turn in recruiting....that goes for all schools, large and small and everyone in-between. But, March Madness is around the corner and you are either in it, on the outside looking in or are going to participate to catch up with the rest of the crowd. I'm not here to judge anyone, condemn anyone, I try to stick to game days, matchups, recruiting basics, but it's naïve to think RU is behind the times because of any one hurdle.....it's a bunch of them and the faster you win, requires kids that are Sanders, Isaiah Whitehead, Isaiah Briscoe types that require maintenance and management at every turn.....to think otherwise isn't realistic.....
