Kids will be kids I guess.....no mention on why they are out tonight, but game is on BTN at 8PM after Michigan at Wisconsin.

Time will tell if these suspensions will be beyond tonight's game.

And RU took Illinois to triple overtime before losing ... with many guys out.

What is your point?

dont know why you are making an accusatory tone towards me, I just pointed it out.. perhaps meaning that just because Minny has some people out doesn't mean that our chances of beating them on Saturday go up drastically. Anyhow Illinois had the same number of players out for that game against RU and each team played only one guy over 6f7 so what is your point in bringing that game out because it clearly doesn't apply

Allegedly Minnesota G Kevin Dorsey Tweeted two videos of himself in sexually explicit acts with other individuals, both of which were quickly taken down.

Minny is terrible except when they are beating a bad team, then they are made to look like the Red Auerbach Boston Celtics with Rickie P in the role of Auerbach [roll]

Russ , if you know and you can share, can you tell us what Corey did or did not do?Thanks in advance

sex video! whoever sits in Lil Pitino earshot range has to give it to him on Saturday. we all know it's quiet enough where he'll hear every word.

I'd actually rather be Rutgers right now than Minnesota. Both basketball programs are a mess, with ours much worse. However we may have a light at the end of the tunnel with increased B1G revenues and a better football program that might ultimately help hoops. NJ/NY doesn't hurt either.

They looked pretty good when they beat Maryland. I can't imagine how they would look without any scholarship guards available.

I do not know what led to the suspension @goru7 but the length of the suspension is pretty much consistent with several school's suspension length for a second failed drug test.

Everyone smokes weed. You have to be naive to think this doesn't go on. You just have to be smart enough to pass the test.

Thanks Russ. I initially thought that was it, in light of our recent football investigation , and now nothing gets swept under the rug. However, I know that Corey had a whole crew up for the Ohio State game, and was very demonstrable with them during and after the game, another loss, and I wondered whether he did something attitude wise that had to be disciplined by Eddie. Thanks again for your insight.

Pitino Jr is going to be Houdini to survive this one....one of the three Minnesota kids is local from Queens and went to St. Patrick's....sometimes it really is sad to see what college coaches have to survive, but that's why they get paid 1.5M to 2M, to deal with kids like these that do silly things and make their school look bad.

Regarding Sanders or any number of elite players at any and all schools....they all do the same things that make certain fans cringe.....however, it is literally impossible in this day and age to win even at an NIT level, without some sort of fringe/weed/criminal past on your roster. It's just not promoted by ESPN or highlighted, but it's right in front of your eyes and ears, but we all ignore it as if we don't see it.....

I say that because I'm not accepting it as the new normal, but there are very few Duke/Stanford/Princeton Northwestern rosters that have mostly high IQ, future Wall Street types on their rosters and even those kids aren't squeaky clean, despite the media telling you otherwise. A quick twitter, instagram, facebook search of any roster of Power 5 kids would cement this status as truth, but sometimes the closer you get to the actual process, the faster you may want to back away....

We are in complete denial if we are not aware or that a school isn't aware of what kids/athletes do.....but you either win games or you don't....you sell tickets or you don't......you get ratings for TV or you don't...........it's a bottom line business and deals are made with the devil at every turn in recruiting....that goes for all schools, large and small and everyone in-between. But, March Madness is around the corner and you are either in it, on the outside looking in or are going to participate to catch up with the rest of the crowd. I'm not here to judge anyone, condemn anyone, I try to stick to game days, matchups, recruiting basics, but it's naïve to think RU is behind the times because of any one hurdle.....it's a bunch of them and the faster you win, requires kids that are Sanders, Isaiah Whitehead, Isaiah Briscoe types that require maintenance and management at every turn.....to think otherwise isn't realistic.....

so without the three players...and make that 4 with the other guy tossed two weeks ago, Minny lost to Illinois 84-71 and Wisconsin 62-49...not complete shitshows given the decimated lineup so RU will still have to work hard to beat them. Its going to be interesting to see what Vegas does with this spread. I bet Minny is a 4-5 point fave

Corey should have taken a few tokes at halftime and chilled a bit for the 2nd half.

I really like the Jordan Murphy kid. I didn't think he would have as much of an impact as a freshman as he has. At 6-foot-6 he is a very good defensive rebounder, has some toughness and very good footwork. He also gets to the line at a good rate, he's just a really bad FT shooter.

We need to guard King who hurt us in conference tourney last year. Should trap too a little since we now have 8 players.

Corey broke NO laws, and was suspended for violating a university rule. That's it.

No drugs, no violence. Just a mistake.

I like him a lot also. He's going to get better too.

I thought I heard that EJ at the CC meeting saying had some help in suspending him from higher ups. I took it as NCAA. EJ was skimming past the question.

Smoke weed you get 1/2 football game or a basketball game. This was 4 games. Major to me.
