Pitt flips

You guys are a funny bunch. You have Penn State like arrogance but without any accomplishments to back it up.

Let me ask you a simple question. Are you a fvcking moron? You come to the board of another team basically put down that school and expect them to not be arrogant.you don't like what's posted here than please go back to your own board you fvcking idiotic loser.

Apparently you have no idea how it works. Who exactly is going to say something to the press? Narduzzi? Narduzzi's agent? Pat Hobbs?

You figure Pitt fans would be used to losing coaches at this point. Apparently they haven't learned anything.

I never realized Pitt fans had such an inferiority complex when we were in the Big East. It seems every former BE school who has moved onto the acc (BE v2.0) acts this same way. I guess a glorified mid major will do that to you.
This is kind of amazing. You guys seem to be thinking that just existing in the Big 10 gives you guys some sort of credibility. You guys went 1-7 in the conference, losing by an AVERAGE of 24 points per game. You are the pin cushion of the league. This is like a Kansas fan talking shit on another conference. Who cares what conference you're in if you're totally worthless?

including 2 players washed up from other schools.

wait to J Winfree commits....they'll be throwing a party for beating out teams like Troy, S Alabama St, & Middle TN St.....but wait, he was once a 4* recruit!

What 2 players are washed up?

This should be interesting.

Pitt fans, why all the hate towards Rutgers? You had a good year, we had a bad year. We fired our coach and you are getting a couple of flips.
Why not put these minor disagreements aside and focus our negativity on our shared enemies: PSU and the Orange?

With all the garbage this year, topped by a new coaching staff, I'm surprised we haven't lost more recruits.

You're right you should be getting some of the better players, but when your coach went after Ffrench the gloves came off. As far as mediocrity, you couldn't beat a depleted Ped team so how will you compete with the rest.

This isn't true. Pitt didn't just suddenly start pursuing these players. Pitt was recruiting these guys all along. Our paid board pretty much predicted these guys leaving even before RU offered Ffrench. Campbell hurts though -- good player, parents RU grads, local kid. But so it goes, probably not the last recruit we'll lose in this tumultuous year.

OMG Pitt TROLLS...

It is well known that Narduzzi wanted the RU job and contacted our AD through indirect means the week leading up to Ash's hiring. He was willing to also take a pay cut from what he made at Pitt. At that time however we were further along with Ash and so turned Narduzzi down. He wants to get back in the B1G.

This was further corroborated (on the round table premium board) by our mods as well as multiple posters linked in with senior officials in the Rutgers admin/big donor base.

It's a fact, it happened. He wanted in for less pay but we turned him down in favor of Ash. The END.

No doubt there was some contact between Narduzzi and RU. Why else would Pitt suddenly give him a raise? I don't know if he was serious though, or just using RU for leverage.

Oh yeah...players on NFL rosters:
Rutgers 19
Pitt 13

won/loss record.....2005-2015
Rutgers 82-57
Pitt 76-61
head to head wins over same span
RU: 5
Pitt: 3 (almost, but not quite)

Rutgers: Big 10
Pitt: almost, but not quite

Rutgers' head coach: National champ winning D coordinator
Pitt: almost, but not quite

RU's upcoming TV deal: $40-50mm/year
Pitt: almost, but not quite

RU: on campus stadium
Pitt: almost. but not quite

RU avg home attendance during 4-8 season: 47723
Pitt avg home attendance during 8-4 season: 48150. Ok, they can have this one, if they thank ND for bringing 68400 and beating Pitt by 2 scores.

Hendrix & Clark....out of high school, were highly regarded....but after "washing" out at their initial schools, not many major programs were going after those kids....especially Winfree.

don't get me wrong, it's not like they can't turn it around (i.e. S Oakman at Baylor)....but usually, it doesn't amount to much.....weather it was because they were overrated or didn't have a great attitude.......sorry to belabor the point on Winfree, but that kid couldn't even cut it under R Edsall's rules....that's saying a lot. Narduzzi's gambling hard on that kid.........but again, i digress....maybe the kid will turn it around....ya know, like R Shell at WVU:)

i guess my point is...it's silly to brag about their initial high school recruiting profile at this point.

YOU should talk...

Not to nit pick, but this picture was from 2013 not this year. Pitt didn't wear gold pants this year at all. They wore all blue and Virginia wore blue helmets against Pitt. That was game four and both Pitt and Virginia were 1-2.

And as far as comparing records from 2005-2015 goes... Look at Rutgers out of conference schedule. A lot of fluff there and from what Ive read most Rutgers fans will admit that. Honestly, what are Rutgers top 5 wins during that time period?

Pitt is very very mediocre. As crappy and utterly unqualified as our last coach was he still ranked higher than pitt twice in the last 4 years. This was a coach that got beaten like a drum by Kent state. With any real coaching skill we should leave pitt in the dust, though that wouldn't be saying much.

are you seriously arguing that pitt has been a better team over the last 10 years? check conference record for common opponents. closest thing that still exists is the AAC.

RU 2005-2015 record vs AAC: 27-15
Pitt 2005-2015 record vs AAC: 18-14

pick literally any metric since the big east began its final iteration and RU has been the better team.

Because they are recognizing where they are on the coaching scale after Narduzzi tried getting out.

They feel less than. Losing coaches constantly for greener pastures will do that.

Wtf are you talking about? Clark was a Michigan commit that flipped to UCLA. He didnt like Mora or UCLA or the west coast. He hasn't even played in college yet. Hendrix played in 7 games at Tennessee as a true freshmen and decided to transfer after 7 games. He was a true freshmen. I didn't even mention winfree. What a fail of a response by you.

yeah...they both washed out....what's the confusion? and again...what major programs were looking to take on those 2 stud recruits? Syracuse for Clark?....Iowa State for Hendrix? there's a reason the big schools didn't come calling after they.......wait for it........washed out;)

i know you didn't mention Winfree....I did....because he falls in the same mold as the other two......highly recruited out of high school (4*)....washed out at Maryland for gosh...many reasons.....now Pitt's sweatin him hard.....and who else is after him?.....nobody of relevance.

I stand by my disclaimer that all these kids could turn it around......for Pitt's sake, hopefully they will......just not the normal path of recruiting bigger programs choose to approach....that's all.

I couldn't give a rats ass what bigger programs think. Pitt has put more elite talent in the NFL than any other college in America. Try me on that one. Pitts problem has been terrible coaching with a terrible ad. Both of those were fixed and the results show. 1st time in acc history the acc freshmen of the year on offense and defense came from Pitt. Narduzzi is a great coach. If Rutgers doesn't want him or anyone else, thanks again. I'll take him all day long.

From 2005 - 2015:

Rutgers went 40-11 in out-of-conference games.... They only played 12 Power 5 games OOC (6 wins). They played 12 FCS teams, Army 7 times and Navy 6 times. Rutgers conference record was 37-43.

Pitt went 29-22 in OOC games.... They played 20 Power 5 OOC games and Utah twice. Pitt played 11 FCS teams, Navy 4 times and Army none. Conference record of 44-36. Pitt also had three miserable years when Wanny took over and had several head coaches over a 4 year period.

The past 11 years has been the greatest stretch in Rutgers football history and they only had 7 more wins than Pitt did... Congratulations.

Narduzzi's done a good job after his 1 year, no doubt. though, his recruiting has been average at best, and it'll catch up to him....assuming he sticks around. he probably should've cashed in after this year...though his OL will be pretty good for 1 more year, so he should have another decent year to attract other schools....we'll see.

I'm sure Narduzzi was thrilled to see a half filled stadium that Thursday night against North Carolina....two 1-loss teams battling for 1st place in the Coastal on national tv, Pitt's best start in years, and only half the stadium shows up?.....not so encouraging from Narduzzi's perspective. the 3:30 prime time game against Louisville wasn't much better.

yeah man...no secret Pitt has put some players in the NFL, but that wasn't really what we were talking about.

Are you going back to the dawn of time on this statement? What might have happened 30 years ago is irrelevant to the current state......current Pitt players in the NFL....a few Elite players but hardly something to rave about.

T.J. Clemmings Minnesota Vikings Offensive Tackle
Dorin Dickerson Tennessee Titans Tight End
Aaron Donald St. Louis Rams Defensive Tackle
Larry Fitzgerald Arizona Cardinals Wide Receiver
Andy Lee Cleveland Browns Punter
Dion Lewis New England Patriots Running Back
LeSean McCoy Buffalo Bills Running Back
Mike McGlynn New Orleans Saints Guard
Darrelle Revis New York Jets Cornerback
Tom Savage Houston Texans Quarterback
Jabaal Sheard New England Patriots Defensive Lineman
Devin Street Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver
K'Waun Williams Cleveland Browns Defensive Back

Listen to yourself, man. Rutgers was the last school picked in expansion. The last.

Incorrect.

11/19/2012 Rutgers invited to Big Ten
11/28/2012 Louisville invited to ACC

Unless you don't consider the ACC a P5 conference, Louisville was the last school picked.

I would suggest looking at Michigan states recruiting ranking when narduzzi got there. Recruiting "stars" and offer sheets don't equal wins.

That really doesn't mean anything...[/QUOTE]

Actually, it means a lot. One is a champion. The other isn't.
