Pitt flips

Troll? No, I am just giving you facts. Time will tell how foolish or genius it was. Let's revisit in a couple of years.

You've given me no facts. What you're doing is brandishing an unsubstantiated rumor in my face because 1) it stokes your ego, and 2) you're hoping will stop the bleeding from this year's recruiting class. That's trolling.

But yes, let's revisit in a few years. That's all we can do. Hail to Pitt!

It's been substantiated. It's not my problem if you don't know enough people to get information.

See you in 18.

Pitt? Lol... No coach would ever leave Pittsburgh. Who doesn't want to play second or third fiddle in their own state and use such ignorant parlance as "yinz".

That's great that you only showed the student section at Rutgers Stadium during a Game during the Thanksgiving break. You failed to show the other 42,000 fans in the stands during the rain vs. a 2 win Maryland team.
RU has long passed Pitt in terms of Fan support.

What next ???????????
First it was the Happy Valley Nits trash talking on this board ( not including the you know what issue) .
Then the Dumb Owls from Philly come here talking smack.
Now the Pitt kitties are infesting this board sprouting their BS
Guess all of Pennsylvania wants to get their shots in before RU wakes up and the talk of Rutgers being a sleeping giant proves to be reality and puts those jealous fans of PA schools where the sun don't shine, but smells like their Alma mater

Joe knew but did not want to tell anyone until Monday so as to not ruin anyones weekend. I guess he did not care about the actual victims!

Mediocracy with Horor

Enters thread and can't even talk about the subject at hand. Dare I say...

Yeah, I don't expect fans of schools like PSU and PITT to be shaking in their boots over RU's hiring of Hobbs/Ash, but I think to a man they do probably realize that it looks like in the very least we are starting to get out of our own way a little. Yes, this past season was atrocious but it was only one year removed from when we went 8-5 in our first season in the B1G with a 1-AA coaching staff + Ralph Friedgen (who came out of a 4 year retirement to call our offense). I think with some talent on the roster and a real B1G level coaching staff in place we will be a much bigger pain in the ass to PSU than they may think in the next few years. And congrats to PITT on their 8-4 season. Finishing second place in the ACC Peninsula Division behind a basketball school (who ironically we wiped the field with last December) is definitely a step toward regaining the glory of 30+ years ago.

One other thing I want to address is this point that the ACC sends all these players to the NFL. That's great and all, but the point of COLLEGE football is to win as many COLLEGE football games as possible, not just be a farm system for the NFL. So yeah, there's great individual talent in the ACC but TEAMS collectively outside of FSU and Clemson are nothing special on the national level or at least consistent. UNC had a good year this year but they have these types of seasons every once in a while. I think it's highly unlikely they duplicate this seasons's success in 2016. Petrino's second stint at UL has been underwhelming to say the least, Miami and Va Tech haven't been major players in at least a decade and GT and NCST are like UNC in that they are very inconsistent.

God dammit. This thread is like catnip... It's attracting all the kitty cats from PA...

We need some of this to keep out all Pitt and PSU kitty cats...

Wait...did you just say Pitt and PSU are jealous of Rutgers??? You can't really believe that?

I've never seen a fan base be so arrogant that has done so little in the 130+ years they've been around.

What I've never seen is a fan base so insecure that it has to come in serious numbers to another team's site to put down that school. Think about how silly and small time you look by being here.

This is accurate. I only came here initially to see if RU fans were at all worried about the recruits they lost. The verdict seems to be Morgan - No, Campbell - Yes. Just trying to figure out what Pitt picked up.

There's no denying Pitt's mediocrity in recent years. And it's a travesty that we can't do a better job filling our stadium on game day. Hopefully that changes as Narduzzi continues to build things.

I'm not interested in taking a swipes at the Rutgers program. You all know where you stand. Pitt fans should be able to sympathize.

But if you can't see this Rutgers-Narduzzi stuff for the nonsense that it is, then I'm gonna have to troll a just a bit.

Morgan had a quote about 3 months ago something along the lines of "I'm 100% committed to Rutgers......but I would listen if another school offered." That really rubbed people the wrong way here (as it should IMO). That, plus the fact that he fits the fold of a Kyle Food OL project scholly, and not many people are that upset. Seems like Campbell is a good prospect, he was one of the most talked about guys here.

As long as we are selling "blue sky" here, let's keep this five year time horizon in mind. In the next 6-12 months we will begin to learn exactly how lucrative the new B1G TV deal is going to be. The disparity between the SEC/B1G and the ACC is going to be very real. At that point a rudimentary understanding of Game Theory will let you know what happens next.

We're pretty content sitting where we are, 5th place or otherwise. The B1G was the move for the next 100 years.

Back to money again. I get the money thing, but it hasn't helped Purdue, Indiana, Illinois or Minnesota. The more the better, but it's hardly a guarantee of success. I'm guessing Rutgers still has to pinch itself considering where you were and where you wound up, but don't mistake a payday with becoming a successful program.

Neuter them before releasing them please. We don't need any more of them out in the wild.

Those are really bad examples because those teams are located in states that don't have nearly the amount of football talent NJ does.

You completely missed the point. Never mind.

This is like those dopey Syracuse fans who, when faced with their modern day mediocrity wanna give everyone a history lesson about " the good ole days" of Donovan McNabb, Marvin Harrison, Larry Czonka, Ernie Davis , and Jim Brown.
Pay attention. Since 2005 we've won more games than Pitt. We've even won more game when we were playing a team named Pitt. We've also put way more guys in the NFL than Pitt in recent years. None of this means that we're vastly superior to the Panthers. It just means that when a Pitt visitor wants to come here and talk like they're superior it's kinda funny.

2005-2015
Rutgers 82-57
Pitt 76-61

Players currently in the NFL
Rutgers 19
Pitt 13

You just can't be so butt hurt and in denial. Your coach is from NJ and he wanted to come back and coach in the B1G. We went with Ashe. He's not gonna tolerate being in PSU's shadow and renting a half empty stadium. He will be gone soon unless he starts losing and has no other options. Pitt isn't a bad place to train for a real job.

Pitt is so irrelevant haha why do we even have a thread on them?

Theres a reason coaches dont stay there longer than 2 years

The AAC was better than the ACC this year. Let that sink in. Even if you were any good, no one watches ACC football anyway.

By what measure is the AAC better? The ACC has Clemson in the playoffs...who does the AAC have?

The ACC has more talent and produces more NFL players than anyone except the SEC! It's been that way for a while.

When Clemson wins their next two games the ACC will have the national Champs 2 out of the last 3 yrs!

You act like the Big 10 is some otherworldly conference. The ACC is only second to the SEC if putting out talent into the NFL draft for quite some time now. Also, remember, you're still Rutgers no matter what conference you are in.
One post since 2011? What's that make you?

You have a great network also.

Clemson will be one and done in the playoffs now that they won't be feeding on ACC garbage. FSU is also going to lose to Houston.

yeah...they both washed out....what's the confusion? and again...what major programs were looking to take on those 2 stud recruits? Syracuse for Clark?....Iowa State for Hendrix? there's a reason the big schools didn't come calling after they.......wait for it........washed out;)

i know you didn't mention Winfree....I did....because he falls in the same mold as the other two......highly recruited out of high school (4*)....washed out at Maryland for gosh...many reasons.....now Pitt's sweatin him hard.....and who else is after him?.....nobody of relevance.

I stand by my disclaimer that all these kids could turn it around......for Pitt's sake, hopefully they will......just not the normal path of recruiting bigger programs choose to approach....that's all.

So playing in 7 games in the SEC as a true freshman is now called "washing out"... okay got it.

Since the #1 HS TE decided to transfer before he even starts his college career, obviously he "washed out" too? lmao..

Wrong... Clemson destroyed Oklahoma last year and will do the same this year.

Houston is a good team but nowhere near FSUs level!

You should bet on these games since you're so confident! Haha

You must be new to this whole College Football thing because yeah, as a general rule when kids transfer down it is not a sign of great things to come.

So let me allow myself to be as dumb as you for a second. Does this mean Rutgers would thrash UNC who was a nut hair from winning the ACC, if we played tomorrow? After all, we kicked the crap out of them in a bowl game last year.

Or maybe he changed his mind and realized he didn't want to play college fb 3000 miles away from home??
Completely unheard-of for a 18yr old to change his mind at an awkward point in time, I know!

Nahhh, he washed out, as a true freshman before ever setting foot on the field! You're totally right!
I'm new to this college football thing!

UNC didn't have a defense Gene Chizik last year.

If you are convinced OU will win, then bet on it! Have at it bud! Lmao

I find it amazing how our fan base -- of a school which is still scratching the surface of its potential as a serious player in college football -- has become so quick to look down on other schools as places nobody ever could want to go. Where did this come from? We get a Big Ten invite almost entirely because of our location and suddenly we're Notre Dame and every other program is Prairie View.

Is the ACC as good as the Big Ten? No, it's not. It has huge fan bases, huge stadiums and quality competition. But this is Rutgers, and we have a lot of work to do to be one of the reasons those things are true. The idea that we can look down on people because the cool kids cuts us a break and let us in the club is absurd.

Pittsburgh is a damn good school in a pretty cool city that plays in a great facility. And they were really good before our fathers were born, so there's that, too.

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen....other than Pitt taking any Rutgers recruit they want.

It was completely debunked by Pitt insiders. It was a lame attempt to stop Pitt from poaching a bunch of Rutgers players....which didn't work out so well for you guys.
Any RU recruit they want? A fat 2 star project in the middle of a coaching change? Give me a break. I'm glad RU didn't want Narduzzi he seems perfectly content with Floods lame recruits.

Good post I agree with everything you said except the B1G being better than the ACC.

We lost to Iowa on a 57yd fg as time expired...so we stood toe to toe with the best the B1G had to offer!

I think the B1G and the ACC are pretty even most years!

If RU was in the ACC Coastal it probably would be bowling this year.
