Next month starts Free Agency, or the transfer portal, or whatever you want to call it, and Pike needs all the resources he can get. We need impact players, not schlubs who take up space. Impact players cost 💲, which we don’t have enough of. Maryland fans ponied up and the majority of their scoring is from transfers.

Maryland Transfers Point totals From Rutgers Game
Rodney Rice- transfer from VT - 19 pts
Selton Miguel - transfer from South Florida - 17 pts
Ja’ Kobi Gillespie - transfer from Belmont - 14 pts

Our transfers are not contributing enough because we chose from the bargain bin. They are too inconsistent. The performance on Court is a reflection of our support or lack thereof and We are reaping what we sowed.

I knew we were F’d as soon as we lost Cliff. Only to watch him languish on the bench. This year, we must hold on to Somerville, and add the appropriate complementary players. Get the right players and we can get back to the tournament next year.

Maryland has a far better coach. Small time contributions from fans make zero difference. Don't send your Social Security checks to Rutgers Athletics.

So wrong a comment.Small time money matters a lot. Some big donors consider that when they give their big bucks-- if no support from regular fans ,why me.

Al, I appreciate your RU fandom. But this is a crap post. The problem is the coach 100 percent.

Geo earned every thing he got. Was and continues to be a tremendous advocate and symbol of what RU hoops can be. Let’s leave him out of what’s going on please

Seriously, he’s doing more than almost anyone and he’s not on the Supreme Court. And he’s not part of the NCAA committee that could have come up with a fair solution before the SC acted or the countless others making millions and billions on the backs of unpaid 18, 19 and 20 year olds.

I'll be shutting up and riding the coat tails of an established, successful school like OSU. Being a poor Rutgers fan is miserable. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, barring a miracle gift from a whale.

You already did this thread weeks ago.
Literally every post on this board is about our lack of NIL.

Thread 'Poor NIL is the biggest reason for our disappointing season' https://rutgers.forums.rivals.com/t...t-reason-for-our-disappointing-season.288419/

Do you even watch the games or just see a loss and start an NIL thread?
Can you give one actual on-court critique or improvement opportunity that isn't "We need NIL to get better players"?

I talk to many investors who tell me that when they invest they critically look at the vision of for the company and the confidence in the management team to execute on that vision to ultimately generate ROI. Here, not seeing a vision and definitely do not have confidence in this management team. I'll pass.

The key there is ROI.... NIL isn't about investors or ROI, it's about emotion and donation.

This may change but big donors really like Pike.
Just curious, but what specifically do they like? I know he picked the program up off the mat that was down in the basement, but he is currently shoving us back down the stairs of the basement as we speak with an incredibly disappointing season with two generational talents. What do they currently like about Pike and the current trajectory of the program? Is it they just like him on a personal level? He’s a great guy, no debating that. But what do they like about him currently coming off this season and the previous two as a coach of a Big 10 program?

The reason why we lose is we have too many fans like this 🤡. Doesn’t want to donate and just wants to run his mouth on the messageboard.

You have no idea what I donate.

You’ve literally started about 100 of the same type of threads for football, and now basketball.

Is he going to grow?
Is he going to get more athletic?

He is an old school 4 in a game where old school 4s rarely exist.
He has the best offensive ability in the center position, that we have had for years, including Cliff

Maybe, over time, he can get better defensively, remembering he is a true freshman

You’re beating a dead horse
I don’t go along with it

Actually people like you who make excuses for a coach who's accomplished nothing are the problem.

I can't think of more wasteful use of spending money then giving it to this program while Pikiell is still coach. If you have money you want to give Rutgers give it to Schiano.

This is a business now. I do not pay for the Yankees salaries. And no I will not shut up if I don't donate. This is what they wanted. Let them figure it out.

What do you think the Yankees do with their ticket money?
You do pay player salaries.

CFB/CBB need to drop the fake-amateur athlete notion they use to prey on fans for "donations".
