Email that arrived today grants additional priority points for consecutive years purchase (which to the unwashed means buying tickets through thick and thin, not just thick) of football and basketball and women's basketball. Long overdue. Only problem is that a ticket account with one ticket gets the same number of bonus points as a ticket group with a dozen tickets and multiple parking tags. No sense of proportion or dollars spent. Go figure. One good thing is that it recognizes buyers from days of yore (before Big East and Big Ten).

5-9 years of purchase: 1 bonus point
10-19 years of purchase: 2 bonus points
20-29 years of purchase: 4 bonus points
30-39 years of purchase: 6 bonus points
40-49 years of purchase: 8 bonus points
50 plus years of purchase: 10 bonus points

I'm getting ripped off...... Should be getting around 14

We should get points for time on these boards.

You obviously don't understand the policy

It clearly states in the first section that you get points based on years of owning tickets and the number of tickets (1 point per ticket). The bonus is exactly what it says. Something on top of the first calc.

That's a nice milestone. We got started late as season ticket holders. Moved around the country and started 3 or 4 years ago with season tickets.

Thanks.

I like what Hobbs has done, here (and I recognize that it may have been more Sarah's idea than Pat's and will also admit to having suggested it to her a time or two).

As a long-time season ticket holder, one of those "we've seen the worst of the worst and stuck with it" folks, I always wanted a little something in my points, ya know, for the effort. Under Tim and Julie it was all, "Oh, there will be no priority points. But on your deathbed you will receive total enlightenment."

I never expected lifetime Scarlet Lot or anything (the traffic sucks, I was in that lot for 12 years) but some minor recognition is appropriate. I think they got it just right.

Next up - Tailgate Hamsterdam. You just watch.

Thanks.

Gosh, what would we do without you.

I understand the policy. I stand by my comment. The Bonus Points are not proportional to the number of tickets an account pays for. A 1-ticket account gets the same number of bonus points as a 12-ticket account based on consecutive years of purchase.

I thought we got the kids sent to Tailgate Hamsterdam a couple of years ago?

Haven't we heard this complaint the other way though? That a bunch of people get together and make a combined donation under one account, which they are getting a big benefit from?

I can still hit a 6" target at 200 yards over open sights.
Meh. I can hit a 3" target at 300 yards. Using just a whiffle ball. Under water. Using my weak arm. While doing somersaults on a trampoline and chewing gum. Throwing in the direction of the earths rotation.

Selling tickets and putting Rutgers fans in the seats is what matters. For many people, especially younger fans with families and children commitments, they can not make every home game, but they are willing to partner on season tickets and parking tags with others and prefer a seat surrounded by the same folks every game. Without joining a ticket group, they get none of the benefits of being a long-time ticket buyer (better seat location, better parking spot). And larger ticket groups are welcome by the ticket office. Simpler for them.

That was the weird Julie plan that dumped them all into the lot next to Werblin. I'm talking about the plan I drew up originally - @MrsScrew has it, she was bumping it up to somebody on Pat's staff.

Not sure what this has to do with my post.

You're getting priority points for each seat you have. You're getting points for being a long time ticket holder. Now you're getting bonus points for being a long time ticket holder. But you also want a multiple of bonus points for having more tickets.

Seriously, how can they make everyone happy? Do that and this board will be full of complaints from the far majority of people who have the normal allotment of 2 or 4 tickets, bitching that they are getting kicked out of parking lots by the groups of 12.

If we have 30K season ticket holders, how many of those do you think are taken up by those with 4 or fewer seats? 25K? Give all of those people additional bonus points for having those multiple seats and you're really just artificially inflating everyone's point total.

Not unhappy one bit about the bonus points. I like it. Parking tags are based on groups of four. Rewarding a group of 8 with double the bonus points of a group of four or less makes sense to me.

First off this had nothing to do with Hobbs. While on the Fan Appreciation Board the issue came up about some long time ticket holders feeling a little out of sorts and their loyalty was not appreciated. I am not sure if I was the only one so I do not want to pat myself on the back but I talked with Geoff Brown about giving PP based on years being a ticket holder.

The Athletic Department took if from there and came up with the numbers. IMO a nice thank you for years of loyalty.

We also complained about the police presence or should I say them driving through tailgates. I have heard it is not as bad as it was. Funny story, one of the first games a cop on a ATV was coming through the yellow lot and making everyone move their tables etc. People were pissed. I confronted them and almost got my ass arrested. Brought it to the AD and attached a videotape and have not seem them drive through again.

nice job 78! (and anyone else involved.)

Previously, you got 1 priority point for each consecutive year of season tickets. If you had season tickets for 30 years, you got 30 points as a reward for your longevity as a season ticket holder. Now you get the 30 points plus 6 bonus points. Isn't that pretty much the same as just increasing the 1 point per year to 1.2 points per year.

(There is a slight difference. The bonus points are a stepwise addition. So if you have tickets for 35 years, you still only get 6 bonus points, for a total of 41 points, because you haven't advanced to the 40-year step. If they gave you 1.2 points per year, you'd get 42 points for 35 years.)

NEW! RUTGERS ATHLETICS LOYALTY PROGRAM

The Loyalty Program rewards longtime season ticket holders with bonus points once they reach certain milestones. Each milestone is calculated by the combined number of years in which football, men's basketball, and women's basketball season tickets have been purchase consecutively. Once each milestone is met, ticket holders will receive a set number of bonus points annually.
5-9 years of purchase: 1 bonus point
10-19 years of purchase: 2 bonus points
20-29 years of purchase: 4 bonus points
30-39 years of purchase: 6 bonus points

50 plus years of purchase: 10 bonus points

Does "combined" mean if you have had football and basketball tickets each for lets say 26 years you get credit for 50+ years and the 10 bonus points?

I tried calling my rep but he has not called me back yet.

Yes. If you've had FB tickets for 26 years and MBB tickets for 26 years, you have a combined total of 52 years and you get 10 bonus points.

Boy they just keep making it harder and harder for me to keep going to the game. I have 2 tickets and we live too far away to go to any games other than football, yet they keep giving out points for all sorts of stuff. How about bonus miles for miles driven? I almost dump my parking all together but was promised by my ticket rep that I will still be in silver, if I get bump to the RAC again I just might drop my tickets all together.
