Trivia question no peaking. Also posted on Round Table

In his preview, Richard notes that Rutgers all time is 1 -11 against Purdue.
  1. What season was the victory?
  2. Where was the game played?
  3. What else was notable (and ultimately monumental) about that game?
  4. Which player was the footnote to # 3?

I was at the game. 81-73 over Purdue at the Garden. The 75/76 season. I know Bailey’s first start was at the Garden, but i think it was the Penn game..Purdue played all 4 teams in the final four that season..For those who downgraded Rutgers schedule, and thought They were not ready for Michigan, Purdue only lost by 4 to both Michigan and Indiana. They also only lost by 10 at Pauley P to UCLA.

Kyle Macy was on Purdue and I believe left later for Kentucky.

Kyle Macy... now there's a blast from the past! I met him and several Phoenix players -- Dennis Johnson (R.I.P.), Walter Davis, Truck Robinson, Alvan Adams -- when the Suns had a practice in the Piscataway H.S. gym during my junior year (1980-81) in high school.

That's pretty cool. A few legends right there...

And if you look back at our bracket, we still would have needed to go through what some view as traditional powers, but they were upset in earlier rounds. Not unlike when you see mid-majors disrupt the tournament today.

Macy was a freshman starter on that team. Also in the rotation was freshman Jerry Sichting, longtime Pacer and Celtic famous for getting in a fight with fifteen-inches-taller Ralph Sampson.
