I'm assuming Jake can shoot? His dad was a superstar 3 point shooter when I was in school. But when he plays he doesn't shoot. Is that coach directed or is he tentative because he doesn't have the confidence or doesn't want to try and do too much?

He had a bucket in the Iowa game but that was one of the few shots I've seen him take. As much as he can handle the ball, I feel like we only have 4 guys on the court with potential of shooting and in many cases very few of them can actually shoot. Why not let Jake take a crack at some 3 pointers?

Am I wrong?

I saw the same thing. He played a solid floor game, but was way too hesitant to shoot. That probably comes with so little playing time to build confidence. If he won't take wide-open shots he becomes a liability. If he has to play for Johnson on Sat., hopefully he is more comfortable and more aggressive on offense.

I think it was probably a mix of nerves. You have to think, this is the first time Dadika has seen more than one minute in the past three years in a time of the game where the coach expected something from him.

I really hope he lets it fly. He deserves it. Find the right spots, at the right time, with the right space. Go!

It's the same game as he always played. He just needs to do it. He can be a scorer.

we don't have shooters. You remember Ricky Dadika? He lit up the scoreboard.

You're not wrong. So in that case why not play him to send a message. But we'll learn quickly that it'll be incredibly difficult for Jake to get off shots during a game. I wish him the best though. Coach definitely needs to send a message to the team.

In high school he could shoot but his main strength was an uncanny ability to get to the basket. Quick and intuitive. But doing it against Iowa isn't like doing it against Dunnelen..

He would put up a lot of shots in high school...... not always the best shooting percentage in high school, but got his totals.

I realize it's a lot different getting off shots in the Big 10 but he's had open looks. If he plays he just has to play like any scholarship player and not think he's in there for charity. Coach said he practices as hard as anyone on a consistent basis whether he's gotten playing time or not. If you have the shot, I'm sure our coach wants to see him take it. We were 0-8 from 3 point range in the fist half against Iowa. Maybe Jakes shots could have helped. Play to win and shoot with confidence.

Rick was one of my favorite players for wenzel. I'm sure Jake has it in him.

Just because his father was a great shooter doesn't mean he is. The way we need shooters, you can be sure that if he could shoot, Pike would have played him a lot more a lot sooner.
