without doubt the most talented player in RU bball program the last probably 8 years may leave IF Jordan is fired..good idea? or give Jordan one more year? Politi beating drum of this question today...

"Still: If Jordan goes, will his star freshman follow him out the door? Sanders came here from Lakeland, Fla., to play for Jordan and left no doubt where his allegiances lie after the game.

"I'm a big Coach Jordan fan. That's my man," he said. "I got his back 1,000 (percent). I know this win is taking a little pressure off him, but we're still trying to get more wins coming to the Big Ten Tournament. We know we're the underdogs, but anything is possible. I'm working for him""

Pure guess, but I think CS is gone anyway. Using Jordan firing as cover. Will know soon.

Also heard he has a kid in Florida and Jordan is trying to get him an apartment here. That way the kid and girlfriend can come to NJ.

Hey, Corey, talk is cheap. Your suspension says more about your feelings about the coach and your teammates than a few quips after a game. Kid needs to do what's best for him. Hobbs has to do what's best for Rutgers. Bottom line -- I'm sure that whoever Hobbs hires will be be in charge of a staff with a better track record of player development than Dalip, Shoes, Van and Mikey O.

Hi Corey, I am Coach Sendek. I coached James Harden... You may have heard of him. I am here to make you a first round draft pick. It all depends who the next coach is and if Corey can benefit from that.

I am not convinced his leaving ( if he leaves) will be related to EJ staying or not. Too may other issues...academics, kid, girlfriend, money, etc....

80% he goes. It's a shame but its business. I hope he stays because I like the Laurent/ Sanders combo.

I really want Corey to stay and hope he does. But this decision to hire a new coach is more important than just one player, even if that player is a star. Rutgers needs to finally bring in a coach with his top assistants to take this moribund program and first bring it up to mediocrity and then finally tournament worthy. If Corey leaves, I will wish him well, but I will be very excited about the new coach and his staff and turn the page.

Want him to stay but if he leaves c'est la vie..its aboutr the programs future

For the record, you will likely be the first person screaming for the next coach we hire, to be fired, when we blow up this roster in 3 weeks. You guys truly never learn. Yeah, Sanders leaving will be no problem lol...you'll see another 6-7 win season here next season.

No offense to Corey because he is a real good player, and I hope he stays but truth is he is not a game changer. Quite frankly we could have done just as poorly with him as without him this past year. Eddie has got to go, and if that means Corey goes to then it's collateral damage I'm willing to deal with. This is a big ship to turn around, and we've got to keep trying to find a basetball coach who is up to the challenge. Kind of got the feeling Eddie was going through the motions - don't think he ever had it in him - time for him to go.

I am always amazed at the sheer amount of mean spiritedness on this board
If I am Corey and read this stuff
Id be gone

The internet in general is a cesspool. I'd think there are very few situations where an important decision is made based on the anonymous rantings of a couple of jackasses. This board is mostly supportive of Sanders.

um wrong...I supported Waters and Rice because I felt they were the right hires that needed time. I didnt support Hill and Jordan because they were the wrong hires with absolutely no national search and shortsighted decision...so your claim is WRONG

furthermore Jordan can stay and Sanders can leave and they you can jizz over a 6-26 record next year or how about its for the good of the program, not a player, short sighted decisoned in football is what brought us Elmer Fudd and even some were arguing he should stay to keep Russo...lmao...you guys truly never earn

I have no belief in Jordan getting it done here ever, so no Im not worried a potential the roster blows up because the program will be moving forward overall from the stench of losing, fans can take a rough year next year knowing that Hobbs has put us in a better situation. Any school that goes 7-25 Im not going to cry over a roster blow up coming off of that season. And there is no guarantee the roster is blown up anyhow

This is hilarious. The potential B1G freshman of the year and he is not a game changer. Have you even seen him play?

I do not think he does. If he does, so be it. This program needs to start trending upwards. It will not depend on one person. I wish Jordan the best, and I hope Sanders stays. If he does not, it does not change what needs to change with this program.

We had 7 players, Corey is a player and hopefully next year he can press a little with Johnson here. Corey had six steals yesterday imagine if we could trap a little more.

Yeah so, what does our record have to do with his game?

Lol - Our record has everything to do with it. The best player on a team that wins 6 games is not a game changer, because they are winning close to that many without him. Ben Simmons is a game changer - who is LSU without him? Again, don't want to disparage Corey because he is a very good player, and I hope he stays - but if he is leaving if Eddie leaves then I can live with that.

I think I can only laugh at this statement

If you're focusing on just Sanders and keeping him with the program, the real question is what are the chances he leaves if EJ comes back and if he's replaced. I suspect it's more likely that he comes back if EJ stays, but not as much a difference between that and if EJ leaves as some may like. I will add that, like everyone else's opinion in this thread, this is complete guesswork.

The history of very good players leaving this program is too strong to ignore. There's a risk of him leaving either way.

Regardless, whether Sanders stays shouldn't be a factor in the decision to retain Eddie or let him go.

When someone posts here that as to Sanders it is "80% he goes" what is that percentage based on? Is it personal knowledge or conjecture? Does it involve any actual conversation with the player? I am not flaming. I just want to know what information goes into the declaration of a certain percentage that a player is leaving or staying and why it is not some other percentage say, 60% or 90% etc....

I would assume any player who wants to transfer would first have a meeting with the new coach (if Jordan is fired). He plays a ton here and has gotten a ton of recognition. More often than not, transferring that a great route to take. This guys loves playing basketball. You can tell from all of the youtube videos, that he really loves playing the game a lot. I just don't see a guy like him wanting to sit out a year and watch from the sidelines. Even after he is done sitting out a year, he would still have to win the job over at whatever school he goes to. I don't think leaving is a smart move

It looks to me like there are perhaps 2 or 3 posters here with real inside information. The person who posted this was not one of them.
