RU Bball..IF Jordan is fired, does Sanders leave?

Aside from the mistake that brought him the 4 game out, he has been the best thing to happen to RU basketball in years. Like Douby(sp), worth the price of admission when he is playing well.

I happen to also love his "loose" personality. Dancing at halftime during warm-ups (in a game we had control) and mouthing to somebody in the stands ...I am playing like $h8t".

Maybe it is me, but don't most players say they back their coaches 1000% until the coach is gone. I would think with his talent, desire to play NOT SIT, and perceived smarts, that he would sit down with Hobbs if EJ is let go, ask about the direction they are looking to go with a coach, and hopefully let the process play thru before he were to jump ship. You never know but maybe we hire a real coach and staff that get him super juiced and we recruit a big name or two in this incoming class to play with him. I never claim to have been in a position like this but think you have to listen to the "new" staff if you are "the man".

Because he's talented

It drives me crazy. I could be 100% wrong...i don't get the sense he cares enough about winning and losing. Dancing at halftime down 30 vs. Purdue bothered me to no end.

I like his personality too. He's confident and it shows.

Have you seen us play without Corey. This is too funny.

We won 6 games this past year, and our program has not done much since Eddie has got here - it's time to press the reset button as far as he goes. The decision to get rid of Eddie should not be affected one bit by whether Corey stays or not. We need the right coach here, and after 3 years that coach is not Eddie - by far and away it's in the best interest of the program to get rid of Eddie even if that means we lose Corey too.

I'm still having a hard time understanding how this supports your argument that Corey is not a gamechanger.

understand. That is why I mentioned being ok with it in a game we were way up and in control. I get your point and think there is a time a place for loose and one for focus/leadership.

Corey is a game changer. He's also not enough alone to compete in Big Ten.

Therein lies the Rutgers problem going on decades.

I didn't say keep Eddie. You are making an entirely different point now. You said earlier in the thread that Corey Sanders was not a game changer, when in fact he is. At no point in any of my posts did I say keep Eddie just to keep Corey. I was talking strictly about Corey's ability. Eddie should be fired.

Thank you. Seriously, what the heck is Saint Puppy talking about? All I said was Corey was a game changer. Never did I nor anyone else say that we should keep Eddie to keep Corey. Wow

Ummm.....it's the whole premise of this thread - if Eddie leaves does Corey then leave too. Did you think people wanted to pull Corey's scholarship???? The whole 'game changer' thing is semantics - a game changer to me is someone who I would consider keeping Eddie for. To me A game changer affects Wins and Losses and with 6 wins I don't understand how either you or ScarletLongIsland can keep arguing that. In short a game changer equals wins. There are no game changers on a 6 win team!

If you want Jordan gone you have to be prepared for anyone and everyone on the roster to go. Not saying he will or might leave but you can't say "Gotta fire Jordan but only if Sanders stays." Doesn't work that way.

It's simple. If you don't think Corey is a gamechanger, then you have no clue on evaluating basketball talent.

I'm basing mine mostly on results - so remind me again how such a great talent evaluator such as yourself managed to come on here and grace us with your presence on the Rutgers Basketball forums and also remind me what credentials you have for evaluating said basketball talent???

It also doesn't work that says we need to keep Jordan so everyone stays on board. No guarantees either way. You could keep Eddie and lose several players. Cuts both ways

Its called common sense. I don't expect you to understand. Just look at his stats and then compare to any other frosh in the B1G....or in the country for that matter.

Based on that theory let me check all the stats of the best player on the worst teams and compare them to the best players on the best teams - heck we're a top 25 team - brilliant!

100% wrong.
Correct. He cares as much as anyone I have seen play at RU the past 10 years. Diving in the floor for loose balls, actually playing defense and looking to distribute first. We want this kid here and from what I have heard, he wants to stay regardless of what happens to Eddie. He's a freshman... He's only going to get better and more mature.

I wanted Jordan here to run the Princeton Offense. I envisioned uniquely recruited players executing back door cuts, crisp ball movement, and "intelligent" basketball like the Nets with Kidd and Kings with C-Webb.

Instead he recreated the '09 Sixers...

Agreed, but have you seen our record WITH him? I believe that is the point they are making, and it is valid. We can suck just as easily without him, under the assumption that things will not get much better without a coaching change.

To that point, I refer you to how awesome we looked at the beginning of the season before the attrition set in. Oh, that's right ...

He was a game changer when we had the light part of our schedule and he was out 4 games.

this is very important. I agree with you and the 4 game suspension and what it meant to team progress and quite frankly Coach Jordan's job was HUGE. I think many on this board havent addressed the impact of the suspension on the future and how we think of both Sanders and Jordan going forward

If Jordan is fired, I hope he leaves. He doesn't deserve to go through the bullshit here.

I completely understand the point, but it's moronic. Losing Corey means you're also 1 more player further away from rebuilding. Basketball doesn't take much to rebuild. Last years Rutgers team had a better record, does that mean Myles Mack was a better point than Corey. This is laughable.Replace Corey with Buddy Hield and Denzel Valentine. We probably win 1 or 2 more games. guess those guys are game changers either then since Rutgers would suck with them as well. Seton Hall didn't become a tourney team instantly when they added Whitehead. They were actually still mediocre last year. But they players some talented players around him (something Rutgers fans can't comprehend) and now they are in the tourney. We lost our top two scorers in Mack and Jack last year. Did anyone hear actually think we were going to be better this year?
