RU-Michigan game in primetime on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2

Show of hands...who had us beating Michigan 2 years ago? That was one year after having a pretty bad season in the AAC with a dismantled secondary due to graduation and kids leaving the program. Anyone? Buehler?

I am with you Mikemarc and booooooo to all of the naysayers who have us winning 3 games this year. I know they will be high fiving in the stands when we win or play well but booooooooo for now.
I thought we would, but I kinda believe we'll win every game so maybe I don't qualify for this question. I really thought we were going to surprise a lot of teams in 2014 - I took a flyer on winning our division. I also didn't think we'd get our asses handed to us as bad as we did last year (well maybe after all the arrests I tempered my enthusiasm a bit) though if I could have gotten infinity to one, I still would not have bet on us winning the division last year.

Everyone knew Michigan was in big trouble 2 years ago. They finished 7-6 losing 5 of their last 6 and 6 of their final 8 in 2013. Putting that situation, with Hoke, in the same breath with Iowa 2015/16, is absurd.

No one knew they were in BIG trouble until they finished September without a win for the 1st time ever, I believe. Lost to us was basically the nail in the coffin.

So it was just announced that RU Wrestling (vs Princeton) is scheduling a double header with Rutgers Football (vs PSU) on Nov 19th. Separate tickets required. To make that happen, the football game would have to be played at night, right?

Correct..BTN primetime games will be announced by end of week, reportedly.

YES! I might actually make it! (and hopefully invite my best friend who's a Michigan fan)

They have to fade back into the cornfield at sunset.

It wasn't announced RU wants this to happen, but for it to work the football game needs to be at night.

They've been working this out for months.

Would think it's happening..though PSU would have to agree, being it's a November game.

Might be the only holdup.

I know it's a reach but sure would love to beat UM on national TV with that DB coach and all the NJ turncoats

Disagree. They completely fell apart the 2nd half of 2013 so the "writing" was already "on the wall" IMHO.

by the time we played Michigan we already knew how beatable they were and that game was what October 3..we found out pretty early that this was a troubled Michigan

i see yeah baby revving up expectations for some ungodly reason when realism should prevail and no its not negative to think its going to be a rough year this year, its accepting the most likely scenerio

And yet I feel like Ash and Co. have an inherent drive to beat Michigan. I wouldn't be surprised to see a good game.

This game is going to be a very important one from a recruiting standpoint.

Would sign up for 4 wins, including Michgan & PSU.

I know we have "real coaches," and that the game is "at home," but you - and a few others - are seriously underestimating them as THIS was the year they were originally expected to be very good, not last year, and they were a damn good team last year (finished 22nd in Sagarin despite the hammering they took at the hands of a top 5 Stanford team). Oh they'll probably have 5,000+ Hawkeye fans in the stands, btw, so the "HFA" will once again be drastically reduced.

No, they're not "unbeatable," but that doesn't mean they aren't going to be heavy favorites - they will be - or that we'll be able to keep this one even close, especially so early on in this regime and with this O, which makes me wonder why people are elevating their expectation levels. Of course I WANT to beat them but, com'on, look at things with a hint of realism here Mike. We have a TON of question marks right now.

Please forgive me for being positive. I know that irks you. If I have to crawl into a foxhole for any reason, some of the realists on this board will not be invited. There is no fight left in many you and why you spend so much time following a team you love to hate is beyond me. I root for Rutgers to win. Others root for them to lose so they can complain and say they are realists. ROFLMAOSMHAMA

Two Michigan football night games this year: at Rutgers and at Iowa

"The Rutgers game could work in the Wolverines’ favor. Michigan has recruited New Jersey heavily, with six signees this year alone. The Wolverines are involved with a number of New Jersey prospects for the 2017 class, and having that game at night means most should be able to attend, even as Rutgers invitees."
You're welcome UM fans.

"Michigan and Rutgers also played at night in Piscataway, N.J., in 2014. The Scarlet Knights won, 26-24, sending the Wolverines to an 0-2 Big Ten start, their worst in more than 50 years. It was a major step toward the eventual firing of coach Brady Hoke."
You owe us for that. You don't want to be in debt to somebody from Jersey.
