I kind of agree with this. It's just the nature of the beast of this type of offense. Your qb is at higher risk of getting injured, remember the year OSU went through 3 qbs.
That's why I've said specifically for this kind of offense you need serviceable back up qbs waiting in the wings because there's a decent chance they may be called upon at some point.
That's a penalty you can't spike the ball. It's delay of game.

Our bad penalties and fumbles are keeping this game too close for comfort. Better clean it up in 2nd half.
Wow what a surprise, we aren’t trying to score before the half and just taking it into the half.
Once again, no killer instinct. Just run out the clock at halftime. Jesus!
I say sit on it especially after the penalty. If you happen to break a big run then rethink but otherwise take the lead and go into half.
