***Rutgers vs. Maryland moved to High Point Solutions Stadium***

Now this is funny, I had 4 people in our season ticket group who decided they didn't want to go a few weeks ago and asked me to sell their tickets for them. Well, I just did today. Got home and got the news about the change. Waited for the phone calls. Sure enough just 15 mins. ago they called. I answered the phone with, "Your sh*t out of luck".
I donated mine to a cancer auction. No way I have to hunt down the guy who got them and get him the new tockets

Thing is I knew about selling these tickets for weeks. Just this morning I looked at the schedule on the fridge and asked my wife if she called our friends. She said no, so I made the calls this morning and they all said hell yea. I was actually a little nervous as I didn't know exactly protocol on this. When the 1st call came I just blurted out,
"Your sh*t out of luck".

The wonderfulness of this news has not finished sinking in yet. If I didn't have to get up at dawn's crack tomorrow for our tailgate, I'd be on the phone ordering some H&B to celebrate as we speak.

Oh, and for all those who incessantly bitched about those of us incessantly bitching about the game at Yankee Stadium, telling us that all our bitching wasn't helping anything, how would like your crow? And don't even try to tell us that the low ticket sales, the letters and emails to the AD, the constant whining about the game here and everywhere didn't have an impact in this decision. If this game was selling tickets like hotcakes, and if every RU fan was totally enthused about the game, this game would still be taking place at YS.

I’m surprised that you were able to sell them. Your friends can just buy tickets from RU. It won’t be a sellout.

How is this on Hobbs?
Seriously. I honestly can't believe people are complaining after an act of God just fell in our laps and we don't have to go to that hellhole in the Bronx. We get our home game back for a very winnable game vs Maryland, and wrestling fans get to see Suriano for the first time in RU Stadium.

Fans bitching had ZERO to do with this, so stop patting yourselves on the back. Between a rain-delayed World Series and the MLS playoffs, keeping the game in the Bronx was risky, at best.

But in the end, who cares why? It's a home game, and nothing else matters until kickoff.

I'm sure you have friends who enjoy your company. Our friends do, like football and also like to sit near us in the stadium when they come from time to time. They know we have really good seats. They're RU alums and like to enjoy a game once in a while. Plus we have good tailgates.

Of course, the S/L uses Ash's "not another false start/delay of game" face for the article.

Finally happy that the Yankees are doing well in the post season. Thanks fellas. I owe you one. (Coach Goodale probably feels the same way.)

While I'm happy for the players and most fans, this is going to be a mess. There are going to be people who only bought tickets because it was at Yankee Stadium who are going to be demanding refunds. And problems with multiple people who are going to be claiming the same seats at HPSS. Many season ticket holders sold or gave away their Yankee stadium tickets. When the holders of those tickets show up at HPSS they won't know where their seats are because there's no way to link the Yankee seat to the HPSS seat. And many other issues. HPSS is going to be short on staffing because the employees thought they had the day off and may have made other plans.

Maybe the best news about this is that it puts us more than $2M to the good.

Average gameday revenue in 2016 was $1.9M, but that includes parking passes. The parking passes for the MD game will be gratis, so we won't get that revenue. Figure, max, $400k. Add in the $750k that we're not paying the Yankees, we're at about 2.2ish.

That will help the 2017 numbers, for sure.

I wonder how many season tickets weren't sold because of a game that is now back where it belongs. Our group lost two; the Maryland game being at YS was the final straw for them.

So much whining and bitching..and quasi conspiracy theories about the "real" reasons the game was moved. Time to make another call out for the wahmbulance. Yes, I would have gone to Yankee Stadium and dealt with it. Yes, I'm happy that the game has bee moved back to HPSS. Honestly, the negativity and snarky comments about moving a damned football game's location.

Potentially 2 weeks less to prepare the field and stadium for the game, mixed in with the needed time to print/mail tickets and parking passes and otherwise prepare for the game to be moved back to HPSS. Making it a last minute switch would have been a logistical nightmare as opposed to an inconvenience, albeit a welcome one for many.

All season ticket holders are having tickets reissued woth there season tickets, and yes season tickets can be be linked to the holder, as Rutgers is the ones who issued the seats. In terms of non season ticket holders the Yankees and Rutgers have likely figured out the logistic, since this is a ticket master event the Yankees can likely work with tickemaster to reissue tickets based on date of purchase to these people electronically with new section and seat numbers.

Let's not make more of it than it is. Doesnt sound like there is a high percentage of casual fans that bought ticket to deal with.

The only major issue I see is if a Maryland fan bought a ticket on the 50, and now does not have access to that type of seat as they are all sold.

Game 7 of the World Series is scheduled for Nov 1st. So wrecking the field was not a factor.

The Dodgers had a better regular season record than the Yankees, and that is now what determines who gets the odd game at home. So only games 3, 4, and 5 will be played at Yankee Stadium, assuming the Yanks beat Houston tonight or tomorrow night.
