***Rutgers vs. Maryland moved to High Point Solutions Stadium***

It must be a bummer for the players and the wrestlers, who had a chance of a lifetime to play on that field and sit in those lockerrooms.
THAT field and THOSE lockerrooms (maybe on eBay or the Yankees website?) don’t exist anymore. It’s now just a park across the street.

What about the plight of all the MD fans who booked hotel rooms in NYC and are committed to travel to the city ?

Unless there are none. Lets see if Terp fans complain about the site change back to RU from NYC.
Hmmm.

You’re right that is a valid concern.

What do you hear at your end, @TheB1GTerp ?

Rutgers needed to sell 35,000 tickets to break even at Yankee Stadium. I think we have like 28,000 season tickets sold so they'd need to sell another 7,000 or so in the primary market. I'm not sure if they'd be able to do that with a flooded stubhub marketplace.

You are so overestimating the desire of the players to play there. The players dont care about being at that baseball stadium. Kids that age dont care about baseball anymore and especially any baseball tradition. And that stadium is not even the same stadium that Ruth Mantle Ghereig even played at and really no " tradition" surrounding that structure built in 2009. There is no tradition being missed by not going there. . Now if it was being played at Wrigley or Fenway maybe... but not that corporate monstosity.

In trying to find their forum, I stumbled upon their commitment page. Seven 4* Rivals listed. Scary. $$$$

I do not think the Yankees will be inviting us again. (thank God almighty, thank God almighty, praise the lord.

for all the fans that think this was a 'win' by not buying tickets and want to believe the reason the game isnt being played at Yankee stadium due to poor ticket sales, think of the message that sends to the B10 office and rest of football nationaly that the 'local' B10 School for NYC market couldnt pull off enough tickets to make the game a profit.

Theoretically a point could be made that the 'local B1G school in NYC market couldn't pull off enough tickets to make the game a profit' but I think most should be able to acknowledge that RU has played there 3 times already. The novelty has completely worn off for any die-hards or casual fans who think it's cool to play there, and those who have already been to a game there known that there are virtually no good seats or sightlines. If this were RU's first game at Yankee Stadium and sales sucked, it would be cause for concern, but I don't think so in this situation.

Not buying it. If that really was the case why couldn’t a decision be made after tonight’s Yankee Game ?
If the Yankees lose they then would have 14 days to convert the field. Still not enough time ????? That transition time is total BS. Putting in the proper manpower shortens the process.

It was a Financial debacle for both sides .....an embarrassment neither Organization wanted to own up to.

You’re forgetting the RU side of the equation. That would not allow RU enough time to reissue tickets, hire the parking, police and concessions staffers for a game not on he schedule and make an announcement at today’s game about the rescheduling. 2 week’s is pushing it to do all that.

I don't have a parking pass, so I'm not getting free parking personally. If they give a credit for 2018 for the difference of ticket cost for the two venues, I could tolerate that worst case scenario.
As an FYI they did a credit to wrestling fans for a match that was taken off the schedule a couple years ago. So they is precident for it.

Most importantly it was WITHOUT PENALTY, so Rutgers Walks away Scott free. No $750,000 payment to the yankees, and we keep all ticket revenue, concession, and merchandise sales.
I cannot believe that we actually were paying them to play in the Bronx.

I doubt any Terp fans booked hotel rooms in the Bronx.

Those that have rooms in Manhattan can take NJ Transit to New Brunswick instead of the subway to the Bronx. The trip is about 30 minutes longer, but lots of visiting fans travel to Rutgers Stadium from midtown. It's not like the game was moved to Pittsburgh.

Psycho anti-Yankee (Mets?) fan fabricating a bunch of negative nonsense...
Calling BS on this bizarre rant full of untrue stereotypes...
Oh, and the Yankees? Doing quite well with fans of all ages.

Isn't there a train that runs between NYC and New Brunswick?

Exactly. I'm assuming it's the Yankees who realized they weren't going to make much on concessions, etc., so this was a good cover story.

Whatever. I'm just happy the game will be played where is should be played!!!
Same here. Happy the game will be played on campus.
