Rutgers vs Michigan State / Game Thread

Another weak attempt at a tackle by Cioffi. Our LB play is just so bad. Morris can't get off blocks to save his life.

We are slow, weak, and small.

We get roadgraded by every team. For all the coaching geniuses here, enlighten us. How do you win when so clearly overmatched?

It's NOT about talent! How dare you! It's all about the coaches!!!! We have a lot of talent on the field and in this program!

We need to comb the JUCO ranks to find LBs for next year. We should be telling Tyshon Fogg he is a shoo-in to start day 1.

Don't know what they do in practice to simulate and recreate the speed and chaos of a real game, but in needs to change

Here's the problem: the entire program is lacking speed. Even our RB's aren't fast. If you practice against guys on both sides of the ball, who aren't fast, then you're not used to "speed" come game time and boy is it showing out there today.

Man this is like 35 person effort today. They have all collectively sucked together. starters, 2nd stringers, punters, KO receivers all of them. Just a really piss poor effort

Pretty sure one on one I could run through or around Roberts.

Seriously - he gets dragged everytime he tries to make a tackle.

I don't like ragging on players, but I make these comments to point out the folly in blaming everything on this staff.

***as I type this Roberts actually busts through the wash but whiffs on the tackle. TD MSU

While talent is a big issue, in this game, you can't not blame the coaching. Seems like maybe you should not even try schemes on either side of the ball if you know your team can't competently execute them.

Cioffi should be playing at Monmouth. He has no business being on a Big 10 field.

We are not playing 11 walk-ons on offense and defense. These are all 2 and 3 star kids. We are getting killed by a team on a 7 game losing streak. If people don't understand the level of incompetence of the coaching staff, then be they better be prepared for 3 or 4 more years of this crap.

The only way to change it is to recruit. Our practices are probably incredibly competitive.

Then they step on the field against another team and it's oh shit time. The rbs are confused to see LBs bigger and faster than they are. The OL is shocked to see faster bigger guys then they are. The DBs are shocked to see WRs faster with hands that catch.

Watch any other game of a decent team. The player differential is simply eye popping.

Bullshit. Muller is a freakin' senior. No way in hell he doesn't know where he SHOULD be on the play. He just wasn't there. Sorry man I just can't agree with that. Execution, execution, execution.
no man that's preparation..... the play most definitely hasn't been practiced enough, it's prob a new play from this year out of a new formation.

it is.... they clearly don't know where they are supposed to be on the play.
Sorry but that play is completely on the players. RB's and OL should know where to set up for a screen. They learned that one in pop warner. That was simply stupid by the players all around

disagree, each play ppl are supposed to line up differently and be in different places

People also have to remember we had Carroo last year. having to worry about someone like him opens up the offense, and helps the running game.

Not having anyone who is a threat at WR..hurts our running game badly.

Iv'e been screaming about the SIZE of our LB's for 4 years now. We are simply too small at LB. Need 6'3"+ monsters out there in this conference. 5'11" to 6'1" guys ain't cutting it (which is why I didn't think the Florida kid who quit was going to be any good here...).
Pollock was undersized but considering how much the D plays, having another body keeps the D from being gassed all the time.
