Schiano continues to sully Rutgers

Do you not think Wimsatt is better than the QB situation under Ash?

We're also extremely injured and rebuilding an O line.

In GS 1.0 when we had freshmen QBs they were deciding which future NFL starter to throw the ball to. It's going to take time to get back to that.
Time that what they said year 1, time to get to what 6-6 in year 6?

What facts?
I know you’re aren’t questioning my loyalty or support of RU for 4 decades.
It’s my opinion, I don’t think pay for play and portal free agency suits GS’s recruiting style or philosophies.
It’s only my opinion

I wasn't referring to you with that comment.

This isn't 35 years ago.
It's such a simple process to filter out defensive TD/special teams when looking at stats like that.
Same with FBS v. FCS games.
Websites need to do better and make it clear.

As you point out - it does makes a difference.
I'd even go so far as not counting extra points against a D.
They really only gave up 6pts - not 7. Put that on the special teams.

Maybe these have more refined stats available but behind paywalls.
A good stat would be "expected points given up" and factor in drive starting position.
For example - a team gets a fumble return to our 20 yard line.
If the defense then holds to a FG as opposed to a TD - is it really that bad?

This seems similar to what you are describing. It has us #114 on offense, #43 on defense. This seems reasonable to me.

This jives well with my intuition which is that the defense has improved and is respectable while there has been no progress on offense.

I would daresay the defense can be considered "good" mostly because I think they are unfairly disadvantaged by being on the field so much and also by often having little to play for late in games.

Blame the product.
The support would be endless if we were even semi competent.
There’s was a huge non alumni contingent on the wagon during GS 1.0.
They don’t hang around to be bored to death
Agreed. If we were interesting to watch with a creative offense just missing talent, no problem. Even losing. Where is the NIL link.

Getting sodomized by Maryland and losing to an interim coach on your own field while having one of the worst offenses in America. Yea, no.

Look at his 1st 3 years. He showed improvements in year 4.
I watched almost every game. Although it wasn’t linear it seemed obvious that the team was moving in an upward trajectory.

We played teams with a lot more talent than us close and even won a few.

I don’t see anything like that in football.

1st year - last place
2nd year - last place
3rd year - didn’t finish last (ahead of Neb and NW)

We lost to St John and Fordham in year 3. Beat Columbia at home by 3. Not sure that showed improvement.

Now year 4, he won me over.

They played teams tough where they were severely outmanned. Schiano gets blown out by teams like Maryland. Who aren’t even good.

Not outmanned against Fordham and Columbia? Simply not true. But again, he turned it around in year 4.

Well we will find out next year because Schiano is here for a long time thanks to the shrieking fanbase that tied the university's hands. But just because one coach turned it around in 4 years doesn't mean another will. They're different people in different sports. And if he doesn't turn it around I'm sure some of his supporters will demand more time, as they already have.
