I'm sure nj football fans still want to see the state defensive player of the year make his way to the banks.

Hopefully the new staff sticks with Sidney and they help get him on the squad.

So what's the deal?

And you know this how ?
Wasn't he entering his last year at a JUCO ?

"While still possible they could end up at Rutgers, it appears unlikely as the two sides haven't been in contact, according to Weequahic head coach Brian Johnson-Logan.

"We don't know Rutgers (anymore), so we don't know," he said. "But right now, we are just trying to do what we do and then when the time comes, we'll go to Rutgers. And If they're interested, then we're interested. And if not, then we'll just move on."

PS- I wish these kids the best, but doubt they could handle the course load and time management needed. I wish them the best, I followed both when they were at Weequahic, both are D1 talent on the field.

Thanks for the link.
A shame that both sides have lost communication.
If progress had been made in their Studies perhaps a future on the Banks was possible.

These are business decisions. I hope that the support systems for Gopre and Ports are strong enough to give them both a chance to excel..I hope the Newark pipeline continues but seems to have dropped off again. I know that some of the talent ends up at the private schools but it would be nice to produce them at the public schools as well.

Akrum Wadley now a RB at Iowa, also went to Weequahic and graduated the year before Gopre'sand Al Ports class, he seems to be doing well at Iowa.

Allright Not your fault... Anyway they produced three guys in a row. Hopefully more to come .....
