as the team fell 20 behind and I started to think about all the years I have invested here.

I started season tickets in 1978 so am working on my 41st year. Anyway I was about to turn to my friend who came with me and make a snarky remark that the university should at least give me a warm pretzel for my time and efforts

It was at that exact moment a university rep
Came over to me at my seat and gave me a RU tee shirt and water bottle and thanked me for my support. And just seconds before I was about to complain

Thanks RU, appreciate the gifts. Your timing spot on, but winning along with it would be nice

Think we have the best fans in the world, other schools could not have the frustration that we have had.

when I meet fans of other programs, I jokingly tell them that I have become an expert at losing
graciously..... since I have so much experience at the losing part.....and meeting opposing fans becomes more and more frequent since they often acquire the
seats next to me at football games....

Wheezer - do you happen to sit in Sec 105?

I have more respect for Rutgers fans than any others in the B1G. I'd like to see the loud mouth PSU fans still saying "We are" and showing up to support their team...oh wait they dont' even realyl support their basketball team at all, just football cause it is good.

There will be a day wins or finishes in 2nd place with the old college try in bball or football and it will be worth it...I can't even tell you how decades of playing Duke and UNC drilling us hardened me.

I am happy for Jonathan but he sure didn't shoot like that when he was at RU.

I got a game early and saw him out shooting when he was out with an injury. I realize almost anyone looks good shooting in a gym with no defenders, but he was making shots from all over (really deep) and was just not missing.

On a separate note watch the arc on Ron Harper Jr.'s shot in warm up and compare it with his arc in games.

Stop talking about Laurent I got killed for bringing him up

Again, what was the story with him leaving RU. Grades, playing time?

It’s OK. Our fan base wants everyone to transfer or leave early anyway.

this is so true.

it's one thing to have a fanbase with 0 patience when you win all the time...but when so many in our fanbase crap on our players who haven't had a chance to develop...ugh, it just pisses me off to no end.

ok, stepping off my soapbox now...

Jonathan played a lot in Eddie Jordan's last year when we were down to like 7 or 8 scholarship players. Corey often hit him with passes near the basket. He averaged 8.1 ppg and 5.1 rpg in 2015-16. When Pikiell came in (2016-17) he rarely played and only averaged 3,0 ppg. We were often playing Corey, Nigel Johnson & Mike Williams as 3 guards. Issa averaged 3.9 ppg as a SF. We added Eugene who scored 2.4 ppg as a frosh. Gettys was our center at 7.7 ppg and Freeman was our Pf at 11.1 ppg backed up by Sa at 3.1 ppg. I think Jonathan just saw some writing on the wall that he wasn't going to get many minutes so he transferred to U Mass. It is too bad as we could have used his scoring as a SF this year. We are getting very little out of that position.

Or at least if this guy could have shot anything close to this well

Where was this version of Laurent when he was with RU? Oh that's right--nowhere to be found. Different league, different pressures of quality opponents up in your face.

He's never been much of a shooter, even in HS and travel ball, his improvement is pretty stunning.

If he was shooting .356 on the perimeter that would be an impressive improvement but .500? That's stunning.

At this point most of those makes came from non-conference games and I believe that UMASS had a tougher non-conference SOS than Rutgers.

Russ, still quite surprising. He was NEVER this kind of shooter for us. If he was, he would still be here.

Thanks for kicking us while we are down! Good for him though, I'm glad he is playing well. Wish he would've shot like that when he was here.

It's crazy how Laurent now can hit threes and we don't have one player on the entire team who is shooting well currently

Lends credence to the "athletic department is cursed" theory that I believe more and more every day.

Arc? What arc? My fishing casts have more arc than his line drives. However as he can't even hit the rim, I at least always hit a tree.:)

For better or worse, Eugene Omoruyi became this team's leading scorer in his Junior year. Let that sink in.
