He was a lousy shot. Let Bodhi get away.Amazing how many people here forget Ohio State’s legendary QB Johnny Utah blowing out his knee in that meaningless Rose Bowl against USC .
NFL dreams gone and he had to take a government job

Not surprising that a coach would think that. But his logic is flawed IMO.Interesting perspective from Deion Sanders.Deion Sanders says Colorado stars will play in bowl game, criticizes teams with opt-outs
Deion Sanders took aim at teams with players opting out of bowl games.247sports.com
Thinks the continuity of winning is more important than his players opting out

Spoken like a fan. I’m sure Kyle will sit down with his family, GS and any folks advising him as he works toward the next level to make the best decision for himself. If he chooses not to play I will have absolutely no problem with it.You hope he doesn’t play in a bowl? Weird statement that is against everything Kyle stands for as a player, teammate and student athlete of RU. If he is healthy I don’t think you can keep him a way from the bowl game .
Right . And some of us know a lot and are good posters can see what the right move isSpoken like a fan. People forget about the Jake Butt knee injury in a bowl. He has carved out a good career in broadcasting, but that wasn’t the original plan.Right . And some of us know a lot and are good posters can see what the right move is
exactly ! if he chooses not to play that’s fine but for you to hope he does not play is a weird ass take.Spoken like a fan. No it’s not ….,exactly ! if he chooses not to play that’s fine but for you to hope he does not play is a weird ass take.
If KM chooses to play will you respect his decision? No it’s not ….,
Zapp good call on this plum weirdo. If KM chooses to play will you respect his decision?
You’re quite adamant you hope he doesn’t play.
Yes, i would respect it .If KM chooses to play will you respect his decision?

You just do it before he makes his decisionYes, i would respect it .
I won’t come here complaining and whining that bowl games aren’t the same and how dare he makes that choice
"Sanders states that tapping out (his term) "throws off the structure of next season".Not surprising that a coach would think that. But his logic is flawed IMO.
Sanders states that tapping out (his term) "throws off the structure of next season". If anything, having seniors sit out gives opportunities to underclassmen who are being counted on for next season, thus IMPROVING its structure.
He also stated that a few teams tanked their bowl last year, and never recovered. Perhaps so. Correlation does not imply causality. Others (e.g. Miami) tanked their bowl and went on to bigger and better things.
I didn’t complain. You just do it before he makes his decision
There’s nothing reasonable about hoping someone doesn’t play.I’m not sure why people are busting Plum’s chops. His initial statement about Kyle was reasonable.
You guys are parsing words too much and reading too much into what was in the initial post. All of us wish the best for Kyle who left everything on the field for us fans. Plum can correct me if he wants, but I think he meant that he didn’t want Kyle to risk his professional career by playing in a bowl game. There’s nothing reasonable about hoping someone doesn’t play.
Do you hope KM doesn’t play?
That’s a different question from understanding if he doesn’t play

I think all of us have the greatest respect for what Kyle has done for Rutgers and his career here. And if he chooses to skip the bowl game no one is gonna be upset about it. But he's the engine that drives our offense. And Rutgers is not the same team without him.Because he’s clearly been playing through a lot of pain and the bowl game is an opportunity for the future guys to step up and show what they can do? Realistically, not much good could come of him playing beyond where he is right now in his RU legacy. He’s going out on a dominant winning note closing it out with a banner performance. I’m torn about it, but I could understand the view of hoping he doesn’t take the risk of not going out on that note or at worst, suffering a major injury. He deserves to go out on a high note.
Yeah .. I hope he doesn’tI’d love to see him play in a bowl and hope like heck he does. Shocking someone would hope he doesn’t play, which is basically the same as saying he should worry about getting injured, which happens to be everything Kyle isn’t, he’s afraid of nothing…
If he doesn’t play he doesn’t.
He’s going to be a great NFL player, blitzing D Backs beware, you’re going to get lit up
Holy shite.Yeah .. I hope he doesn’t
Millions of dollars are on the line for him. It a meaningless game. It only matters to under classmen who get 15 extra organized practices and fans who are desperate to say we won 8 games. That game will do nothing positive for Kyle’s draft stock.
Thanks Kyle it’s been our pleasure to watch you.
Holy shite.
Winning a bowl game does nothing for KM’s draft stock and only satisfies desperate fans.
Good to know!
You can’t hope he doesn’t play and respect his decision to play… doesn’t compute. At this point, there’s nothing further he can do to boost his draft stock. He’s already proven what he can do so another good game is not changing the outlook.
For Rutgers as a program, the best possible outcome looking ahead to next season would be to pull out a win without Kyle a la the Minnesota game. For Kyle, it’s simply not worth the risk. The upside just isn’t there. That’s not to say I wouldn’t greatly respect his decision if he decides to play because he can’t bring himself to sit out. But it’s certainly not ridiculous to hope he doesn’t take on that unnecessary risk.
Do you think the bowl game could elevate his draft stock ?Holy shite.

Nope.Do you think the bowl game could elevate his draft stock ?
By that logic, most of this season was "meaningless" to KM's draft stock, so why did he play at all?Yeah .. I hope he doesn’t
