There are 5 major jobs left. Let's assume that GS settles on UVa and USCe goes with Lincoln in the next few days. Missouri would be the best remaining job. No big name candidates are left for Mizzou to look at (Mullen isn't coming). They fill that slot with some coordinator in the next week. Al Golden is writing desperate love letters to Hobbs when faced with the reality of moving from the Orange Bowl to the Orange Dome (work with me here, ok). In the next 10 days the Eagles lose to the Patriots and then to the Bills at home, ensuring a losing season. Laurie fires Chip.

Hobbs calls him hours later and offers him $3.5M to start. Chip relishes the opportunity to take his offense up 40 miles up the road to go against Urban and Harbaugh and regain his reputation as a genius by turning mediocre RU into a power! He sign on the dotted line.....some kids start to think orange cleats and state flag helmets really do look stupid.

I'd wait that long. But I'm wondering if we are entering a phase of false urgency? (Or real urgency although I don't know what that would be.)

If you think Chip is coming here, say this to yourself slowly and repeat 10 times. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. Chip Kelly is NOT coming to Rutgers. And now you're cured.

So you're willing to concede Mullen couldn't possibly be going anywhere, but a Chip Kelly scenario is plausible?

You should have started the post with "Once upon a time", and finished it with "And they all lived happily everafter"

In the next 10 days the Eagles lose to the Patriots
While we're in dreamland: how about instead if the Eagles beat the Patriots and thus Belichick would obviously be fired for losing 2 in a row. and he would obviously jump at the chance to coach at his son's alma mater for a fraction of his normal salary.....

Or maybe the game is a tie and they are both fired and come to RU to be OC and DC because of each of their lifelong dreams to work for Al Golden.

Could happen. Going to bed now.
