That doesn’t change the fact that their best player was awful against Duke and that along with the fact they couldn’t force the tempo are the two reasons Duke handled them easily.
Alabama lost by 20 points, and that was without Cooper Flagg bringing his A game. There is nothing Cliff could have done to change the outcome of the game.
How many times was Cliff a big factor in a game against a quality opponent at RU and at Bama?
Most recently I remember him being a factor when they upset #1 Auburn. He was one of Bama's leading scorers and rebounders while only playing half the game minutes wise.
First of all, you had to go back a month. Secondly, Broome (auburn center) scored 34 points. Lmao. I will repeat, How many games was he a big factor in against quality opponents?
Bama rotated their 4s and 5s all year. Grant Nelson only averaged 25.5 minutes. Then Cliff was next at 19.2.
Trying to attribute how many the Auburn center scored in that game against Cliff just shows your usual outsized biases once again.
There should be no hate towards Cliff. He cashed in a big check to play reduced minutes, against top competition all year in the SEC and went very far into the tournament with Bama. Something no other RU players can say since the 1970s.
Cliff should have been able to eat Lathan/Ogbole/Martini alive and he should have been motivated big time to do so, yet he played 15 minutes had 6 points and 4 rebounds. It tells you a bit about his ability
